It matters when you say that it is part of official version of world of PoE, which it isn't actually as it is just fan made additional content. If we took this as part of official version of world of PoE then we should also count those lesbian romances, stories of lonely PC (as computer) users and etc. content that you can find within backer supplemented content as part of official version of world of PoE. It's in the game so I consider it a part of the game world. Obsidian included those memorials and NPC's so they made them a part of the game world no matter how subpar those content are. Still having those in the game doesn't mean that the game or the creators views are consistent with this content. What are disturbing are these twitter outrage campaigns from people we dont even know if are backers of the game that stomp their feet demanding removal of content and apologies from Obsidian. And now they are attacking anyone that tries to voice a different opinion.

To the people now conducting a Twitter Shame campaign demanding removal of this piece of content from the game and an offical apology from Obsidian it doesn't really matter, they know it's a backed contribution but still condemn Obsidian for putting it into the game. In my opinion it's ok that a company listens to fans and to feedback, but this fake twitter outrage is pretty ridiculous, we don't even know if the people calling for heads to roll are even backers or people that were interested in playing the game at all.

It seems this morning a twitter storm started because someone found a joke that was carved in one of the tombstones in the game, the jokes makes a rhyme off how a man jumped of a cliff after he found out the woman he slept with was instead a man. Here is a screenshot of the offending tombstone: Now while this joke is not particularly of my taste and is not the kind of jokes I would make, I think people demanding removal of this tombstone from the game and forcing Obsidian to apologize is very extreme. Now, Obsidian may very well apologize but I would see it more as a forced apology in order to avoid bad PR, and not because they really believe that joke is harmful to society or something like that. Well you know there is an issue when a site gives 9s and 10s to every game. (talk about equality) But it's taken to another level when they start insulting their own audience and pushing political agendas. There's a reason we are in the Off Topic section and not in the General Discussion, every forum that I know always try to keep gaming discussion and political discussion separate because games should be about fun, but many sites have become more and more sensationalists and politisized and when people complain about it they are basically insulted (sexist, terrorist, etc). Anita Sarkeesian was promoting the articles of a guy called Davin Faraci or something, a guy that said that Gamers are worse than ISIS.

I just want to note that I have been complaining about the misrepresenation of video games since her first tropes vs women, even in this forum. But at least I'm glad people are starting to see the bull**** now that a game that is very dear to many of us, beign big obsidian fans, gets completely misrepresented to the point that anyone that played the game know she is shamelessly lying to us all, and the funny thing is her video gets promoted by all the major gaming sites. Video Games should have no place for this kind of zealots that place their favored idoelogy over the truth, to the point they are willing to lie and manipualte to push their agenda.

You see this is a perfect example a young man, so self righteous and fixated on his role as a mouthpiece that he attacks moderates who are discussing the matter reasonably, and tries to belittle them as children. I wish I was a child, but having seen half a century I certainly cannot say that I am. The fact that ten articles are published on the same day, on the same matter and by the same demographic as have been caught up in this scandal of corruption, nepotism, lack of objectivity and impartiality, basic failings of integrity and ethics, and hate mongering, is fairly clear evidence that this is an attack against people who play games recreationally and wish to continue doing so. The ad hominems, the lack of empathy, I am inclined to think these people don't really care or are trolling. Game developers (not just the artist I mentioned) are afraid to lose their jobs if they dont "tow the party line". Don't care. A woman gets doxxed and harrased all because she made a parody of anita sarkeesian and supported #GamerGate. Don't care, probably didn't even watch the video. And she is just a small example, people that are speaking out about this cronyism are beign insulted, harrased and threatened. And it has been Documented And while a lot of us want to discuss the obvious coordination of the game media in pushing an agenda, the people on the other side of the arguement keep saying (when they are not insulting us) "well, you're just a mysogynist that don't want women in gaming" are you kidding me? We love women in gaming, we have women supporting #GamerGate too and even Christine Sommers gets flak for saying that "Gamers are Human Beigns" and that we shouldn't be condemned for the acts of a few crazies. While at the start of all this there was only bad press coming from Gawker Media and sites influenced by Silverstring Media a lot of other sites are starting to Pick Up The Story and people want to discuss this all over the internet, there is a 400+ page thread in the escapist, and there are discussions going on in reddit, youtube, twitter, 4chan, etc. Gamers are tired of beign called sexists, mysogynists, terrorist, and truthers because we are not any of those things, we just want to play games without having a freaking political agenda shoved down our throat.

Well isn't the gaming industry supposed to be bigger than the movie industry by now? and many think that it will be the medium that defines the century. When games were a small industry and devs were smalltimers, political and idiological groups would ignore them because they were not worth their time, and games could really be "By Gamers for Gamers" I guess that now that games are huge, a lot of people would love to hold control of the industry and the creative process and use games to forge their own culture, like these lunatics at Silverstring.

The ones that analyzed and critiqued her videos were people that had NOTHING to do with gaming, like Amazing Atheist (a guy that talks about atheism and other things) and Thunderf00t (a guy that does experiments and debunks creationists) sure those guys are gamers but they were nowhere near close to the "gaming scene" These people, that talk... more like demand "equality" "diversity" and "representation" in video games are nothing but a small club, a closed circle of 1st world priviliged white guys and girls that are all in bed with eachother and are completely corrupt, they work in journalism, in indie development and in PR and who knows how deep does this go. And they have to go, and hopefully will, because if what I know is true, these people have commited fraud and this might get legal.

Well, this is kind of condescending and very similar to the arguement "its just games, who cares?" a lot of us care, we spend our hard earned money in our hobby, both hardware and software, and it's not just us, many developers are afraid to lose their job, are afraid to have their careers ruined because this agenda driven journalists will go after anyone that doesnt conform to their worldview, not only I have heard of a lot of cases, two of them have been personally messaging me. And this has been happening for a while because the majority of gamers were silent about it, either they didn't know or they did know and wanted to "stay neutral". Well if someone doesn't want to get involved they have all the right in the world, but don't paint the people that care about this as extremists. Do I condemn death threats? (weather they really happened or not) absolutely. But is not cool to be called extremists just because you want to discuss this.

I found this on the internet, but it reflects a point that I have been making for years. Gamers of all walks of life have banded together to defend their hobby, the thing that many of us love, against baseless claims like turning people violent and psychopathic criminals, and we laughed together when religious folks say our games are satanic. But when anita "Not a Gamer" sarkeesian said that games make people sexist or reinforce mysogynistic ideas about women, she got overwhelming support, I have asked tons of times, where's the evidence of all of this? and her supporters even in this forum were never able to answer me. Personally I think people are just following her blindly because of Ideology (feminism)

Yeah, I will never understand her supporters and how they look the other way when she flat out lies, we're all obsidian fans here I assume, we love their games and FNV is in my top faves of all time, and it pisses me off to hear these lies and misrepresentations. like Totalbiscuit said in his twitter "Justice through lies and abuse is not Justice" I would say is the opposite of justice, personally that's my problem with SJW on the internet and why I will never be onboard with them.
