I would say that moon landing conspiracies would have much more credibility if people were able to explain how such faking is possible Like for example what kind camera and film techniques gave them ability make such long videos with out any film artifacts etc. that plagued other movie productions at the time What technologies they used in low motion scenes, who invented it who produced equipment for it etc. They launched rocket in space in 1969 and in other moon landing missions and those rockets had people in them that come back. Or there needs to be explanation how thousands people that witness both launching of rocket and its crew coming back to Earth in real life were fooled. Where they hide that rocket during time they claimed that it was dark side of the moon (as those people in that rocket would have died according to conspiracies if it actually did go to dark side of the moon), as that rocket could not be seen from Earth at that time and it was possible to see to go behind the moon by telescopes (how they did manage to do that trick?) How they produced that moon rock, what technologies were used, who invented those technologies, why such technologies aren't used in anything else than producing that rock. So as long as moon landing side has feasible explanation how they did their trip to moon and evidence, math equipment, inventors of those equipment, manufactures of those equipment, etc. which all support their claims and conspiracies have lots of big holes in their theories, I don't see any reason to believe conspiracies at all.

Again ok, but why would the pictures be of such a low quality when we have older pictures from Mars that are better. http://blogs.discovermagazine.com/badastronomy/2008/08/12/moon-hoax-why-not-use-telescopes-to-look-at-the-landers/#.VrY5ouafdq0

But what about the difference between the video and the pictures taken, one example from the video being the famous astronaut jumping while saluting. On the video the triangular pocket on his backpack is buttoned up and on the picture taken of the same jump it can be seen over his head being unbuttoned (12 minutes in on the first video I linked). Also the links you posted don't explain the inconsistency about the reflection of the moon dust, wouldn't it then be logical to conclude that everything would be lit up and that there would be no black spots in the pictures. Here is in depth look on fox documentary. http://www.badastronomy.com/bad/tv/foxapollo.html Here film maker explains why hoaxing moon landing in late 1960's was not technically possible

  9. It is surprisingly hard to come with good name in that relative short time that you have when you get notice that you need to sent it in. Especially when when developers haven't released much of information about world or its lore in that point of time. Some backers did have conversations with Josh about lore and names used in Eora, but not all. I would guess that there would had been more setting fitting names if Obsidian had released general naming guide for Eora that backers could had looked before they sent their NPCs in. I didn't do any backer content for PoE, but I did do them in InXile's Torment: Tides of Numenera, and I had quite hard time to come up with good name for my content even though I have setting book in my hand and I have played Numenera as table top rpg. Luckily for people that will play that game I got some help from its developers, so my content isn't as awful as it would had been without their input. Leaving aside dubious "oh it's very hard to do so" argument... Guys from Obsidian had to approve these names, or else they wouldn't appear in-game in their current state. I doubt it was very hard to say "Dear backer, this name isn't really fitting with game lore, would you mind if we change submitted name of your NPC to something more adequate while keeping it similar, like this, for example?". Kickstarter page specifically said submitted names has to be "within reason". But whatever, I guess. Reaping what we sow and all. Like I said there was things that Obsidian could had done if they had wanted to ensure that backer NPCs have more lore fitting names. But my point was that it wasn't easy for backers that made those characters to give them more lore fitting names, one because there wasn't that much information about setting where one could use to come up with lore fitting name and second even if there had been more information about setting it is still not that easy to come up with nice lore fitting name (there is reason why lots of people use baby name books etc. material when they decide their children's names). For Obsidian's defense they didn't have that many people working with PoE and even less that were capable to judge if name is fit for the setting. Also within reason means in KS page mostly references names that would be inappropriate or even affronting in our societies. Meaning that they said that it would be acceptable for example to give NPC your own name (which in most of the cases means that it would lore fitting, at least not with out explanation) P.S. It could also be argued that every backer NPC has lore fitting name as there is not previously existed lore that would say otherwise and PoE itself defines what things fit to its lore/setting. So in sense backer NPCs define partially what kind names exist in Dyrwood and Eora as whole.
  10. I found these articles, which match in number of rapists and victims age. No mention about shariah court and they say that two of the attackers were citizens of Belgium (which of course don't necessary mean that they don't have Iraqi background). Both papers' source seem to be RT that they say has based their article on Belgian news articles. But anyway because of this both articles have high change of getting their facts wrong (also as magazines they aren't known to care much about facts if story is such that it sells) http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/6910086/Five-migrants-among-7-young-men-who-laughed-danced-and-sang-in-Arabic-as-they-gang-raped-unconscious-girl-of-17.html http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3433782/Police-probing-radicalised-teenager-Belgium-video-five-Iraqi-migrants-gang-raping-drunk-girl-fell-unconscious-party.html

  12. Like this idea alot I like it a lot too, particularly the picking of stats from other difficulties (I also like to think that those should be some of the easiest to modify, but I could be wrong). I don't think, however, that enemy makeup can be customized that easily, IIRC (from the dev commentary in-game) levels are designed with input from a lot of people, which is why I suggested just using the "more enemies" option from path-of-the-damned. Anyway, I do sincerely hope a dev takes a glance at this thread sometime, they're the only ones who can say for sure what's doable and what's not. Thanks for all your input folks! Keep those ideas coming! More enemies thing in PotD is done by adding replacement enemies from easy and hard difficulty levels to normal difficulty level encounters. Bit more detailed explanation: Currently all encounters makeups are designed first for normal difficulty level. Easy difficulty level is done by replacing some enemies in encounters with easier ones like for example wolf with young wolf etc. And hard difficulty level is done same way by replacing some enemies with harder ones, like for example lion with elder lion. And in PotD they just add those replacement enemies from easy and hard difficulty levels in encounters instead replacing existing enemies with them, which means that there are more enemies in most of the encounters. It is similar system that they used in Icewind Dales (when they worked in Black Isle studios) Where we get to my suggestion where you could chose add enemies from easy or/and hard difficulty levels depending on how much you want to add difficulty level instead always choosing to add them all. Wow, you seem to know a lot about how the backend for this works. Did you disassemble any of the code? If so, got any pointers you'd like to share with us mere mortals, so we can get started with modding some of it? There was no need for such fancies as devs explained how the backend with difficulty system works during development. http://forums.obsidian.net/topic/60707-update-9-the-power-of-modes-and-godlike-races-our-23m-stretch-goal/ "Path of the Damned is a spiritual successor to Icewind Dale's Heart of Fury mode. In our encounters, we like to turn individual combatants on and off based on the level of difficulty. If you come into an area on Easy, maybe casters are replaced with weak melee enemies. If you come in on Hard, maybe the casters are augmented by a tough melee enemy or two. With Path of the Damned, that goes out the window. All enemies from all levels of difficulty are enabled and the combat mechanics are amplified to make battles much more brutal for everyone involved." They have given more detailed explanation after KS campaign, but those are harder to find as I don't remember if Josh Sawyer (lead designer) posted them here or something awful (which is forum that he likes to visit and post more than here)

  15. I see that could let you select from stat bonuses from story mode, normal mode or from path of the damned And then they could let you choose enemy makeup in encounters from easy, normal, hard or letting you add replacements enemies from easy or/and hard to normal encounters. And then possible let you toggle level bonuses for enemies from beginning of the game. And then need for new systems would be kept on minimal level. But that said I don't see them implementing even this sort of feature in PoE.
  16. 'NBA 2K' Videogame Maker Sued for Copyright Infringement Over LeBron James' Tattoos "In a demand letter to Take-Two before the lawsuit was filed, an attorney for the plaintiff took the $22,500 award to Escobedo, and using information about NBA 2K16 sales, calculated that the value for the eight tattoos should be $572,000. But there was also the matter that two of LeBron James tattoos were featured on the cover of the videogame. According to the letter, "Given that those two tattoos are 'the face' of the 2014 game, their marketing and promotion value is, conservatively, at least four times the value of the rest of the tattoos." Thus, the claimed value of using all of the tattoo designs in question allegedly equals $819,500. That tattoo design company offered a perpetual license for a fee of $1,144,000."

  20. I agree that at the end of the day it is countries own responsibility to control their own borders, but conversations was about Turkey's tactic to ask money or they will not do anything to prevent people illegally crossing borders and that I told that Turkey is not alone with such tactic. Also such tactics put strain on political relationships with countries effected by such tactic even such extent that they may be forced to use extreme measures (like closing border down entirely) that will do even more harm to all sort of relationships between said countries. And that I am pretty sure that Turkey, Russia or any other country using said tactic would not be happy if they were on receiving end of such tactic. Also such tactics put international conventions under pressure and may force countries to break them (like start not accepting asylum seekers etc.), which in my opinion is not good thing in long run.
  21. or don't play it. you not need interact with tombstones/grave markers or the easily identified backer npcs, however, if the mere knowledge that such things exist prevents you from becoming, "immersed and lost in the world," then don't play it. 'course bg and bg2, inspirations for poe, had numerous chuckle-worthy grave markers, and more than a few npcs that depended 'pon pop culture references to makes their low-brow humor work. so, am guessing you will wanna avoid those games as well. HA! Good Fun! Comparing the minor instances present in the BG series to this is folly, Al Swearengen would be ashamed of such foolishness. Some could argue that way they added several forum user like Gromnir as NPCs in BG2 (TOB) have much larger impact on the game than anything that you can find in PoE. But of course it depends lots of people's personal tastes.
  22. They may try it, but it is not as easy as one would think to return person that don't want to be returned. But if situation don't change Finland will close it Russian boarder, which will case incident between Russia and Finland. And Finnish and Russian boarder check aren't actually next each other on those northern boarder stations Meaning that there is actually empty space that people cross than they go from one check to another.
  23. Finland has boarder control that stops those illegal immigrants that then seek refugee and they are sent in refugee centers. EDIT: If Finland boarder control would let people go over boarder without proper documentation then you can be sure that Russian government would be upset about it and probably wouldn't just be content just complain and negotiate about it.

  25. They have now let hundreds/thousands immigrants without any documentation through their borders to Finland every day for couple months. We currently get much more illegal immigrants from Russia than we get from Sweden, Germany etc. places. And it is currently one of the biggest problems that our government has.
