  1. Start on hard, then turn it down if you find it too frustrating, perhaps?
  2. Darkpriest - your Champion's edition will include whatever it says it includes on Steam. Every digital item (well, apart from the game itself) will be available to you on the backer portal, so some things you might end up with both there and on Steam, and others will be just on the backer portal.
  3. The extra items will show up in the backer portal, most of them in the next day or two.
  4. That's okay, I'll pass :D Awesome, thanks; feels a bit odd to go with a paladin when I know basically nothing about this paladin order I'll apparently be a part of, but at least I could be fanatically devoted to the "be nice to people" way of life or whatever. Chanter looks interesting, though, and like it won't require too much micromanagement, so I may try that.
  5. Pity. I'm set on my high Intellect/medium Perception and Resolve first character, but still trying to decide on class. Sensuki is right that that are probably not the absolute best tanks but they can still do a damn fine job and can fill some interesting niche rolls. They have the same health mult as chanter's which people use to tank and their deflection can be offset by thier "Divine Terror," "Circle of protection," and "Despondent blows" spells which all reduce enemy accuracy or increase ally deflection. Yeah, I think I'll most likely try one at least as an offtank sometime. It'll be interesting too to see how well I can manage with a party that isn't set up with any tanks at all, for that matter.
  6. And on hard difficulty especially, resting frequently isn't really going to be an option, yeah. Okay. Is there any class/combat role that suggests itself to you, for that sort of attribute spread?
  7. What they're asking for is an option to upgrade from Champion edition to Royal at the price difference, $30, rather than at the $45 difference between Hero and Royal. Steam might be the better people to ask, though.
  8. At the risk of sounding like bored technical support, have you tried logging out and back in?
  9. Maybe "decent" isn't the right word; I was more asking if priests have access to talents and abilities that play well with tanking. Pity. I'm set on my high Intellect/medium Perception and Resolve first character, but still trying to decide on class.
  10. Can you be more specific about the problem? You're choosing Steam/GOG, confirming you want to generate a key, and having nothing happen?
  11. Your internet connection is ridiculous, buddy; there I was all happy with my 45 minute preload :D
  12. Hi Curunwe, please try again. Is it still not visible? Mine is now back! Mine too, I think we're good!
  13. Update on that should be coming up in the next few days. Obsidian (and Paradox) decided to air freight the rewards to Europe to try and get the rewards to backers faster. it is more expensive, but we are trying to get people their goods as fast as possible. Wow! This actually really surprises me! I did *not* expect Obsidian and Paradox to go through all that extra expense. That, right there, tells me how much you guys care about your backers. I don't get anything--I didn't purchase any physical rewards--but kudos to Obsidian, that's badass. Well, to be fair, we did all pay for the shipping; I don't know the package size/weight to estimate an actual shipping cost, but if it's more than the $30 (to the UK, at least), I'd be quite surprised. I wouldn't be. Especially since Obsidian is in California on the West Coast; California is pretty damn far from Britain. Of course it depends on exactly where you are, how many items your getting, etc. Are there import duties to consider? Etc. I don't know what the total cost of shipping commercially to Britain would be, to be honest. But I don't imagine it's cheap. There are import duties, yes (well, VAT), but I'll be the one paying them when the package arrives (and hopefully not doing so a second time when the disc arrives). I've shipped some things back and forth before, and so long as the dimensions and weight are within certain bounds, it's actually surprisingly affordable, even non-commercially; my assumption is that the shipping cost we were given was just an average meant to cover the higher costs for shipping to other countries.

  15. And give back our WL2 keys while you're at it, please!
  16. My backer beta key is also gone, as, for some reason, is my Wasteland 2 key.
  17. The thought of losing 40 hours of progress to a lucky beetle does not really appeal to me.
  18. I would've gone with irritating. Or maybe depressing. The opposite of female is male, not default. The hilarious was tinged with bitter disillusionment. and male and female aren't necessarily opposites Yeah, fair enough; I was just trying to keep my criticism concise. Luckmann, if you think a general attitude that male = default wouldn't spill over outside the... oh, why am I even bothering. Screw it. You have fun with that mocking stuff other people genuinely care about, buddy.

  20. Sensuki, in your fire godlike monk video you mentioned that you weren't sure if the passive damage you were doing counted as melee damage for one of your talents; do you know if that sort of passive damage works for the cipher building focus to charge their spells? For that matter, can you do it with unarmed attacks?
  21. Oh, I'm sure the LPers boost sales; I'm more questioning what difference them waiting until release day to put the videos out would make. I can see an argument that it would make a difference when coupled with pre-order bonuses, I suppose. Which I kind of wish weren't a thing at all, but hey. (The only youtuber I consistently watch is moving house and putting out less regular videos in general right now, which is also not good for helping keep me entertained until the 26th )
  22. Is there data on this, though, or is that speculation? Seems like it'd be a difficult thing to determine.
  23. I'm thinking about how the day 1 patch might play into this; on the one hand, it seems like it might potentially hurt sales to have streams/videos showing off the unpatched version of the game, depending on how much is going to be fixed/changed. On the other, watching the streams might help the developers spot and start working on fixes for extra problems before we all start playing, and it might lead to some confusion for streamers to spend a week learning on the unpatched version and then jump into streaming the patched one on the 26th - again, depending on how much is changed.
  24. Well, I chose my edition based on how much I was personally willing (and able) to pay for the game that was being promised, based on how much enjoyment I expected I'd get from it; extra stuff I get beyond the base game is just a bonus. That was for Kickstarter backing, though, so potentially a bit of a different situation.
