  1. When Carnage "hits" enemies that weren't the main target, will there be an animation or something that plays on the Barbarian's weapon? Something like what you see from Axe in Dota 2 would be cool, even if it's just an arc attack with some blur or ghosts of the weapon.
  2. Who did that portrait? Kind of looks like Polina's "brushwork" but I can't be 100% certain. and is that Calisca from the demo, or just a female human portrait ?
  3. Yeah that's correct, but I have a sneaking suspicion that the character animations and FX aren't "good enough" to show to the general public yet was a larger reason than it being crit path content. There's probably a few other features that just aren't quite there yet as well, that they want to be more polished before they do a video.
  4. They don't want us to see anything without a specific level of polish, to avoid negative publicity. Which is fair enough.
  5. It would go towards the Expansion most likely. If you look up BAdler's posts he said that in a recent one.
  6. I asked this question in an interview I sent off last week, but I don't know when I'll be getting it back. Next week maybe.
  7. I imagine the scope for skills has decreased dramatically since that Kickstarter update.
  8. Depends on whether the designers create quests that go back there later on in the game, or whether you didn't finish something and need to come back to it. In the E3 interviews Josh said you can do a fair amount of back tracking in PE.
  9. I thought it would be 5. There's no further possible way to break down the 4E D&D skill list than what Sawyer has done. Athletics - Athletics, Acrobatics. Lore - Arcana, History, Religion Mechanics - Dungeoneering, Thievery Stealth - Stealth Survival - Heal, Nature Endurance is rolled into a Constitution check Insight into a Perception check Speech Skills are deleted That's every 4E skill covered (which were already simplified from 3E).
  10. I think it was said to be somewhere between BG and IWD which is fine. I enjoyed the BG1 leveling rate and IWD1 was slightly too fast.
  11. I just did a rough count then, it's somewhere around 275 (Shadows of Amn). But yeah a lot of those are small interiors.
  12. Yeah I am with you there. That's why I was hoping they would use something like the Fighter's AD&D XP table rather than the 3E/4E ones. Granted those are just numbers and the thing that really matters is the amount of Quest XP you get, but to get to the next level you needed double the XP up to a certain point eg 0,2000,4000,8000,16000,32000, 64000, 125000 BG2 had over 300 maps? jeez. I don't have it installed so I can't check.
  13. They've quoted 140+ maps in PE (interiors and exteriors). Baldur's Gate 1 (not including TotSC) has 106 maps in the areas folder, but there's possibly a few more. Content Density in Baldur's Gate however is rather thin, so apart from walking speed/travel time, it doesn't take that long to do most of the content. Most quests are also VERY simple. PE won't be like this.
  14. Another interviewer mentioned a similar ability: Enchant Weapon: "Ghost Blades" Might be a Wizard spell or a racial ability ?
  15. Just an FYI. If you accept your key for the Early Access beta, you will be locked into steam. So beware if you want a GOG version.
  16. Pretty sure the Mac build is being done alongside the PC build, not sure about Linux, but it's possible.
  17. http://pillarsofeternity.gamepedia.com/Pillars_of_Eternity_FAQ#What_languages_will_Pillars_of_Eternity_be_in.3F Obsidian will also be releasing their localization tools so fans can translate the game into their home language if not provided.
  18. Classes are designed around combat distinctions. Animancy is like a field of study. So you could be a Monk, but study animancy (and thus be an animancer) etc. But yeah Wizards seem to be the most logical tie.
  19. On that graph it's Dragon Age Inquisition, but I'm not sure if that's true. So PE may in fact be the only one.
  20. Another really good german one: http://www.pcgames.de/Pillars-of-Eternity-PC-256319/News/Pillars-of-Eternity-in-der-E3-Vorschau-1125801/
