  1. 1) toolset 2) more content 3) 1.24 NWN2 i know it's hidden somewhere within a dusty shelf!
  2. very important... especially in this case whit a completely new ip. i want to read ingame books about the different cultures, important people, gods/religion, and so forth. every aspect is important and even the slightest bit of information helps to understand the purposes of the different factions/npcs.
  3. besides the point that you can simulate and bake this also with 2d sheets you won't hardly notice bump maps within a 3d isometric perspective with a zoomed out camera.
  4. run eternity, run!
  5. not denying that matte painting skills ain't needed but those infinity engine games are 3d areas rendered flat. you can even notice some damn ugly uv stretching in some of the assets. oh, and just look at that creating areas just with a "pencil" and a uniform and consistent perspective is very difficult. therefore 3d models as guidlines or whole pre-rendered areas are common. and i am absolutely fine with that. in fact they shouldn't even waste time on doing high detailed 3d faces. portraits are enough and the camera should be locked at a height similar to iwd.
  6. Quickly browsing through the forum pages revealed that there's no topic about how exploration will be handled. in this regard only baldur's gate was mentioned and i think that's because of its non-linearity. we know that they're thinking about camping:
  7. yeah, everybody waited for his entry of the speculation and there was not even a single sign of him... he completely missed the whole countdown. hopefully there happened nothing serious.
  8. why do you have to see all the content within a single session? locking content means worthwhile c&c and therefore higher replayability. the next time do another roleplay and encounter things you've never seen before. that's a plus in every crpg and obsidian literally stands for a well developed influence system. what should be avoided is to show "flying numbers" - the companion's reactions should be reflected within their dialogue.
  9. 4-6, depending on charisma/perks/feats... and please no forced party members.
  10. dunno, i like the whole vancian system. deciding which spells could be useful in the given situation was half the fun, at least with a proper resting system - like in soz.
  11. aye, thx to obsidian! *cough*big things have small beginnings*cough*... that pledge won't hurt.
  12. oh god please let this happen. since nwn2 there ain't a party based crpg with a powerful toolset. don't care about how difficult it is to handle, just release your tools in some way so that the community is able to create content. a flexible engine with a minimum amount of hardcoded rules would be amazing
