  2. Dragon Age 2: I think it's a major step in the right direction because I'm a console-tard. Crysis 2: Gameplay is good, the graphics and the atmosphere of the game are amazing, but the story is so badly told that I'm still scratching my head here after 7 hours of gameplay or so. Who am I? Who am I killing? Why am I doing all of this and why the hell should I care?!!!
  3. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CIPT3Uv4LSs and here is a happier tune from the same game:
  4. I do hate grind heavy games but the social sim parts of the game are really making me curious. That is one of the things that made me love Red Seeds Profile(Deadly Premonition in US/Europe) and while I have already played the japanese import version to death(collected every single trophy, completed every quest, I had to even use a japanese dictionary for a few of the quests and reverse engineer words from japanese to english) I am still anxiously awaiting the release of the directors cut version of the game. Guys, If you like social sim in games you MUST check this game out: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red_Seeds_Profile

I bought The Witcher Collection for just 10 bucks! ...now all I need is a PC that can run them and an Internet connection that is capable of downloading 18 effin gb's in a few hours! Dammit, this is what my country get's for making nuclear bombs.
  6. I remember playing that briefly a few years back. The setting was pretty interesting but the gameplay eventually bored me.
  7. Thanks for the link dude. But I'm not a big fan of lp's unless it's some video lp without commentaries. I also frogot to mention the Persona 4: Animated Series. Does anybody know if it's some sort of anime version of the game or is it just a side story or something like that?!
  8. I was watching Giantbomb's Game of the Year videos and most of the guys at GB mentioned Persona 4: Arena and Persona 4: Golden on their lists. I enjoy playing Japanese games every once in awhile, mostly action adventures though, I am not a big fan of jrpg's and that's mostly because of this weird mix of turn-based combat and frequent random encounters which has always been a turn-off for me. But this game looks really nifty and I am willing to give it a try regardless of the gameplay(I am mostly interested in the story). Now, how would some of you veteran jrpgers suggest I approach the series? Is it better to start with the first Persona game or should I just start with Persona 4 right away(I am limited to the PS2 version...ughh...)? Damn, wish I had a PS Vita...
  9. Yes. Unfortunately, it's a very underappreciated game. One of those "best game nobody played" kind of games.
  10. 2012 releases: 1.Hotline Miami 2.Far Cry 3 3.Spec Ops: The Line 4.Borderlands 2 5.Max Payne 3 6.The Darkness 2 7.Dishonored 8.Tokyo Jungle Honorable Mentions: Lollipop Chinsaw, Mass Effect 3, Sniper Elite V2, Rock of Ages Still haven't beaten yet: Journey, Dragon's Dogma Still haven't played yet: Assassin's Creed 3, XCOM: Enemy Unknown Non 2012 releases: Oddworld: Strangers Wrath Alice: Madness Returns Alone in the Dark Catherine Uncharted 3(gameplay is still crappy but the story is pretty good) Just Cause 2 Splatterhouse Trine 2 ...and the top 3 crappy games I played this year: Goldeneye 007: Reloaded(making a COD clone out of a timeless classic?! welldone...) Hydrophobia(this is what happens when the developers can decide what the ultimate goal of their game is supposed to be...or maybe they were really aiming for frustration, bad writing, bad execution and crappy gameplay) Wakeboarding HD(I was expecting something like Wave Race 64...)
  11. No. You completely missed the point. I didn't say that depersonalization doesn't exist, I was actually trying to say that the definition in wikipedia is pretty vague. Sure, mental illnesses exist and they should be taken seriously, but having "periods of detachment from self or surrounding" doesn't mean you have a depersonalization disorder.
  12. "Mental disease is a metaphor" - I think I won't forget that for awhile. Thanks for the link!

It's fun and the kill cam never gets old. I just wish it wasn't so linear, because sometimes you really don't have a choice aside from taking cover and sniping waves of enemies that rush towards you.
  14. I have been reading a lot about mental disorders lately, but I often come to the conclusion that most of these so called "disorders" are actually pretty common. Take the 'dissociative disorder' for example. Here is how wikipedia discribes it: I have had my share of problems in life and they were pretty tough and somehow I think that I mildly qualify for some of the disorders listed above(depending on the situation) and yet I survive and my collegues at the university don't treat me any different than others. All I am saying is that, while some disorders can be a serious problem for someone, some of them seem to be pretty common. When I read the above I just feel that someone is simply over analyzing something. So what do you think? Should such disorders be taken seriously?

Dead Rising 2 has better story/characters and Dead Island has better exploration/gameplay.
  16. True. The game is very atmospheric and the combat works really well. The only thing that really bothers me is the save system.
  17. Here's a little something for all of you Majora's Mask fans out there: http://www.terriblefate.com/
  18. Started playing a little bit Dragon's Dogma:
  19. I really enjoyed the gameplay but the lore & the story were quite boring. I kept playing but I just couldn't care about the story. Some of the characters were cool though.
  20. Mexico climbed it's way up to the 5th place on the Tourist Attraction Rankings. Just awhile ago they were on the 10th place...I always knew that behind the curtain, mexicans were controlling the world. OMG! Teh ConsPiracy!
  21. Started playing Sniper Elite V2. I had to buy it because I was starting to get tired of playing the demo over and over again.
  22. True, but I'd say they're also people who are being pushed one way or another in addition to being a psychopath. Take the case of The Columbine High School for example. The shooters(Eric Harris & Dylan Klebold) where bullied & mobbed at school most of the time and even once, people surrounded them in the school commons and squirted ketchup packets all over them while calling them F*ggoths! ...and this all happened while the teachers where calmly watching the scene...amazing! That's not the best way to treat someone that has mental problems or is depressed, introverted etc.
