WarCraft movie is getting slaughtered by critics
I think, as long as it's confined to it's own corner of the internet, they (and others) ignore it. If it gets to rampant they come down on it. I mean, Esurance had to change their mascot because there was just so many metric tons of porn created from Erin Esurance (with really really really bad puns) Which btw, I'd love to know who these people are that watched Esurance commercials and were like "yknow what? I really wanna jack off to this." If the internet has taught me anything, its that there are some people who find anything in a vaguely feminine form to be potential stroke material. Fix'd.

Very W40K. This pleases us.- WarCraft movie is getting slaughtered by critics
Has it ever occurred to you that some people are just not interested in high skill floor games you need to invest hundreds of hours in to master? And that this might have something to do with Overwatch's popularity?- Defining Social Justice Warrior
I wish I was born 100 years from now so I could have been a cyborg. Imagine having a WiFi-like capability built directly into your brain and being able to at any time reference any information in the collection of humanity. /drool I wonder. When Cyborg implants and limb replacements become commonplace do you suppose they will be optional? Or will the future governments see them as "for your own good" and make them mandatory. I'd imagine it will be the latter. Exercise isn't mandatory, even though it's most certainly for people's own good, and doesn't require lopping off perfectly good limbs.- Defining Social Justice Warrior
I most certainly hope so; after all, the decision-making capabilities of your average person are also kind of ****. To be fair though, most humans tend to be at least passable at human-to-human interaction.- WarCraft movie is getting slaughtered by critics
She's in HotS as well, and super fun to play... up until the moment she opens her mouth. Because then my ears start to bleed and everything is suddenly subsumed by OH GOD PLEASE MAKE IT STOP.- I am Miffed
Is it really a relevant distinction? It is if the two aren't equivalent. Really.....its significant ? So do we now question the veracity of what people say....I have a large list of things for you guys to check I'm not saying it is, what I'm saying is that - in truth - you don't know. Its one of the things that bugs me when people try to make sweeping assumptions about people based on what they perceive as the "identity" of the poster when the great thing about the internet is that we can act devoid of identity if we want to. And that, ultimately, identity should be irrelevant to our interactions. Hence my question about whether it's really a relevant distinction.- I am Miffed
Or the OP was lying about that part, but not about others?- I am Miffed

> posted in a thread about a forum member deciding to take their ball and go home okay I think he meant on purpose. Tbh. I don't think there's much difference if the outcome is the same. Granted, it might be possible that the poster in question was indeed an alt who sensed that the jig was up and decided to go out in style, and it is equally possible that she wasn't, yet she'll chill and return a few days later (she wouldn't be the first to dramatically swear off posting on these forums, then silently come back later). Nevertheless, if none of those is true, she has been chased off these forums. Might not have been intentional, but is really your intent the most important consideration there when the forum lost a unique voice whose insight and perspective wouldn't have made it a poorer place?- I am Miffed

Philosophies that don't involve gods or spirits, I guess? Some schools of buddhist thought definitely apply. You know, to me, that sounds like a way nastier and more unpleasant view than "religion is merely a tool of the ruling class" you assumed 1337 is holding. Making your accusations of cynicism kind of ironic, I guess. I think it's not exactly hard to imagine what, to be honest. Memes that lend themselves well to self-propagation ("converting people to our religion is a moral duty, because otherwise they'd be consigned to hell!") or large-scale murder and taking other people's stuff on the basis of them being filthy heretics or prime candidates for sacrifice are going to be more competitive on the memetic landscape than their more introspective siblings. I'm not sure they even need to grant a competitive advantage to the societies adopting them - it's enough if they themselves can out-compete the opposition (ie. other memes). - The 'Sidian Tyranny thread
