  1. I can't see Zoltan's boobie card having much appeal to anyone. Which pretty much goes for most of the men in the game. An appealing lot they are not. edit: Except Geralt of course. If you are into that long white hair thing.
  2. That's a good read. Thanks,
  3. Linky How many times has Ridley Scott released a different cut of Blade Runner? It's still a fine movie, regardless, but excessive re-releasing smacks to me of either milking the content or loving your own work just a bit too much. And yeah, the Witcher is good (I think) but it's not THAT good. Yes its adolescent as all get out and wholly unneccessary to the game, but it is also easily skippable for the most part. One of thoe things I think that is given more importance (both positive and negative) than it merits.
  4. I think the point is more that it would be nice to see them release a new game rather than rerelease the same game three times. And I say this as someone who bought both the original edition of the Witcher and the EE and is probably one of the bigger Witcher fans on this board. The other being Pop, of course.
  5. Hmmm. Is facial customization in any way indicative of the quality of a game? Oblivion had lots of facial options but was a wretched and soul-numbing game experience. Deus Ex had no facial customizations other than an all over skin change and was a pretty good game even when playing a weird albino JC Denton. Sure, more options for the gamer is usually more fun, but doesn't really affect the actual fun of playing the game.
  6. It works to find hidden doors and passages. But as a navigation aide through the dungeons, yeah, it's pretty useless.
  7. The only thing that was dangerous in the starting dungeon for a strong melee character were the two or three skeletons. But if you had anything other than a strong melee character then the starting dungeon was tough indeed. The imps could one shot kill most characters quite often. But... it was possible to run through the whole dungeon and make it out alive without fighting. IF you knew where you were going. The Daggerfall dungeons wre truly awesome. I've never played a game that had dungeons that you could really got lost in. Except Daggerfall. You ALWAYS got lost in the dungeons in Daggerfall. It was fabulous.
  8. I loved those games. My fave mech was the Timber Wolf/Mad Cat. Fast enough to be reasonably mobile, but still heavy enough to dish out and take a pounding. The only time I ever used anything heavier was if there was a mission that had a ton of close range face to face combat. Then a Dire Wolf or ATlas was useful since their lack of speed didn't matter much. One of the coolest parts of Mechcommander was that if you were careful, you could cripple and salvage a Mad Cat in the very first mission. Having that baby on your team was total gold for the first 6 missions.
  9. I don't think I ever played Mechwarrior 4. DOn't know why. Did it get bad reviews or something? I played MEchwarrior 2, the Mechwarrior 2 expansion Ghost BEar's Legcacy. Mechwarrior: Mercenaries, MEchwarrior 3 and Mech COmmander. MEch COmmander was an rts that was actually quite good. One of the better RTS games I've ever played.
  10. That's right. Good recall. I'm pretty sure they did. I don't recall limitations to placement. But I played that on a pentium 133, I think. LOng time ago. lol. Mechwarrior 2 had one of the most awesome intro movies ever. (FOr the time)
  11. I loved the 2nd album. HAven't paid any attentino to them since then. The singer has an incredible voice.
  12. Loadouts depended on the game. Mechwarrior 3 let you put anything anywhere so I'd put all my weapons in the torso where they wouldn't get blown off and the arms were reserved for ammo (usually stuck to energy weapons though) and craploads of heatsinks. Ammo in torso locations needs case. Case will save your life. IIRC, Case was clan mechs only? I always used the clan mechs was I could get one. I think Mechwarrior 2 allosed you to put anything anywhere, too? Been a long long time since I played a mechwarrior game. It's pretty cookl that a new one is coming out. A mech action game is pretty hard to screw up.
  13. Unlikely to happen since no game has ever bested Daggerfall in that area. Daggerfall was a lot like Apocalypse Now: some problems that prevented it from being one of the greatest things ever done, but even the spectacle of what was attempted was more awesome than most ever manage.
  14. I hope they stick to the idea of allowing the player to configure the loadouts. I always found that putting autocannons and missiles plus ammo for each in the arms then filling the torso with lasers and ppcs and heat sinks worked well. In a mission I would try to use my missiles and autocannons first. Eventually, there was a pretty good chance I would lose one or both of my arms in combat, but by that point I had exhausted the weapons in each arm so it didn't matter. My torso would still be packed with a lot of firepower and the heatsinks to use it. Also I found that internal ammo explosions in the arms were generally less horrible than internal ammo explosions in the head or torso. SO no ammo or missile storage in the head or torso. It worked well. Although I usually finished most missions without any arms. BUT I usually finished.
  15. IIRC The standard short range and long range missiles for both sphere and clan are dumbfire. The radar locking missiles take more space and have fewer rounds per space.
  16. True. There's definitely some thought to loadout. Long range vs short range, projectiles vs missiles vs energy. ALso the type of mech you use. Light vs heavy, Clan vs SPhere The last couple mission in MW 2 I just ran using a Dire Wolf and UAC20s. Not much ammo to play with but you don't need much as long as you don't miss. I was hoping we'd see another mech game eventually. The hew graphiocs power of current systems should be a nice addition to realize the gameworlds and potential awesome fights over huge distances.
  17. Yes Thank you.
  18. Aren't all mechwarrior games quake with mechs games? I'm a big fan of them. Loved Mechwarrior 2 (my first 640*480 computer game), Mechwarrior 3 and even MEch COmmander. But they are what they are. You drive around a huge metal machine and blow the crap out of things.
  19. When gay marriage was up for vote here a few years ago, you should have heard the completely insane prerecorded Christian spam calls I was getting urging me to get out and vote against gay marriage. It was some of the most loony babbling **** I've ever heard. Quite frightening really to see the level some people are operating on.
  20. Does Sciqgnij mean Download? I don't even understand hpw a qgn can all be pushed together like that. What the hell sound does it make?
  21. Awesome. I think I'll DL it and start a new game.
  22. Fallout 3's major failing: the game is built around your love for your father and doesn't even try to act as if one could feel anything else than unrestricted, completely compassionate love for that character. I agree with that. It's like Bethesda said: "What's an easy plot that will appeal to everyone? OMG FATHER QUEST!" umm...no.
  23. I eat lowfat vanilla yogurt and nonfat lemon yogurt. Nothing else with added sugar in it though.
  24. Yes, I agree with this part personally as well. Though we arrived at it somewhat differently, I think.
  25. Not all atheists put forward scuentific explanations as the end all be all to the questions of life. There are at least some atheists, such as myself, who simply acknowledge that many of life's questions have no answers, especially no warm and comforting ones. Life simply IS, and one deals with it as best they can amd tries to make it worth living for themself and others. Hiding from the reality of life behind religion is comforting and simple, but it is still hiding.
