Because Darkshape and I were usually up ahead clearing out the next area? Although that moment with the witch was classic. "Don't go near the witch. Wait for her to calm down before you try to run past her..." "Whee!" *Shockwave startled the witch!* *Shockwave has been incapacitated!* That one match I had 33 friendly fire incidents while the rest of you had 10, 10 and 11. That one was particularly bad, even by my standards.

Well yeah, but at least half of those were you guys running in front of me! A few more from me shooting at anything that moved after I got Boomered and couldn't see anything beyond the fact that something was moving. Okay, there were a few "trigger happy" moments where I didn't stop to check whether that shape was a human or a zombie. For the ones that don't involve someone running in front of me it's more about target recognition than bad aiming. If it was all bad aim, I should have fewer friendly fire incidents, no?

Unless I've been extraordinarily lucky, I have a feeling I'll be doing the same thing sometime in the next couple weeks.

Not quite. A 32-bit OS can address a maximum of 4GB of memory. Where the problem comes in is that the OS isn't just counting system RAM when it looks for memory. It's also counting the memory in your hard drives, the memory on your graphics card and so on. Your system RAM is basically bumped to the bottom of the priority list when the OS addresses all the memory so it gets to use whatever address space is left over. The amount of "wasted" RAM can vary widely depending on the other components in the system. If you have a 512MB graphics card it'll only lose around .5GB of it. Stick a 1GB card in there and it'll lose around 1GB of system RAM. There's more to it that I'm probably forgetting, but that's the basics of it.

Who? I have no recollection of this Daigle person. So they may not know how to use it, but they still got the pick didn't they?

You know, as a sometimes Sens fan, watching this season has been absolutely brutal. They need some major changes on that team if they expect to get anywhere. Watching them lose game after game is just painful even though every loss brings them closer to that last spot and the best shot at Tavares. Actually had a discussion about the Sens with a fellow Sens fan and a Leafs fan. Sens fan made some comment that the Sens are better than the Leafs at everything, including tanking a season for that high draft pick.

It is fixed in Vista. No, it's fixed in 64 bit operating systems. A 32 bit operating system may still tell you that you have 4GB, but it still won't use it all.

It's odd isn't it? You go for years not really caring, then you play Crysis and suddenly you start noticing just how crappy some of the games you've been playing actually look.

I clicked on that link last night and got lost in the Anyone Can Die trope. All the links and such leading to examples and articles about their examples that lead to articles about the shows that lead to articles about... I had to check out "Anyone Can Die", but then I spent half the afternoon bouncing from page to page. Damn you!

Let the Islanders win! Every point the get brings Ottawa that much closer to last place and the best shot at Tavares! Also, Drive for Five is a success! Canada wins gold at the juniors again. Take that mkreku!

That site is more addicting than Wikipedia. I've literally spent all day going from article to article on TV Tropes.

The rest of the parts for my dad's new computer showed up today. Last I checked the tracking number said it was supposed to be delivered on the 6th so it arrived a day early. Not bad UPS! You're starting to redeem yourself in my eyes. Just looking at all the stuff makes me jealous though. It's even packed better than my stuff was!

I found out that I don't have any classes on Monday. I show up at the lecture hall this morning only to have someone come in five minutes later to announce that the lecture has been moved to Wednesday at 2pm instead of Monday at 11am. Apparently the instructor for the course was just hired a week before Christmas or something and had a schedule conflict with a different course so ours got bumped. So not only do I no longer have a course on Monday, but it neatly fills in the gap I had between classes on Wednesday. I've got 6 straight hours of class every Wednesday for the next 12 weeks. No idea what's going on with seminars yet.

Yeah, and I had to bail out right around then too - sorry about that by the way. Don't worry about it. I quit not long after. It was almost midnight my time and I needed the sleep anyway.

And then someone shot the car and we all died.
-
Actually we did. It was brought up a second time.

O.o Leferd = JE?

Well the first round of Left 4 Dead didn't go so well. Bok, Deadly and I started a game on expert. We managed to get through the first level of No Mercy on the first try, but we just couldn't get through the subway tunnels. Finally turned the thing down the Advanced and were steps away from the safe house when someone shot the car and we got completely swarmed just outside the front door. Bok was actually inside the pawn shop on top of the counter right in front of the safe house door when the swarm got him.

I was given a copy of Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia for Christmas and picked up a copy of Universe at War for $5 (1 for $15/2 for $20) when I bought a copy as a gift for my uncle so I'll probably be playing around with those over the next couple days. Maybe a few sessions of Left 4 Dead scattered in there. Won't have as much time as I've had the past couple weeks because school (Boo!) starts up again on Monday.

Heh. We were 5.4 seconds away from having Russia go on to meet you instead of us. Looks like Russia will be the ones trying to avenge a shoot out loss next year.
-
Hah! You got a picture of that? We were only playing on normal too. If you hadn't been thrown off the roof by that Tank you would have been fine. The other guy got swarmed by Zombies and Bill went to save him while I ran for the copter. I got there and had about 2 seconds to watch the red outline before he went down and the copter left.

How hot do those 280's run? Can't be too much air flow around them.

He was also the voice of the super mutant Lieutenant in the military base in Fallout 1 and voiced Megabyte in ReBoot!
