Darkspawn romance? I wonder if that one has been suggested over at Bioware...
-
Yes, but you've been actively discussing the product over in the Dragon Age threads so you get a partial pass.

All I'm hearing is "Haha! I played AP and you didn't! Suckers!"

That was hilarious!

Now I know you said you wouldn't be coming back, but just in case you do decide to for whatever reason, the bold part of that post confuses me. You claim to be so disappointed by the lack of a female PC option in this game that you have decided not to buy it. You also (at least at one point) thought that Alpha Protocol would be similar if not better than Deus Ex which you say is one of your favourite games, yet Deus Ex only had the option of a male protagonist as well. You liked Deus Ex despite this shortcoming and you think that Alpha Protocol might be as good or better. Is there some reason why Deus Ex is given a pass despite not having the option of a female PC, yet Alpha Protocol is not worth spending your money on? EDIT: Damn. Cl beat me to it while I was reading the OP.

Shut up, shut up, shut up. I can't hear you! *still doesn't have a console with a decent (recent) NHL game*

Well, at the moment, they're adding several games a week but, yeah, I do wish they could get Baldur's Gate I/II, IceWind Dale, Torment, etc.. The top 4 most requested games are System Shock 2, Torment, System Shock and Baldur's Gate 2.

You automatically get bumped up to 89,000 experience when you import to BG2 if you haven't yet hit that point. Also, the elf is Kivan.

Hey, I have at least two of those 7-10 classes every semester! Those are the only ones I can manage to get to every week so I try to load up on them. 7pm is like the middle of my day.

I finally beat Ascension fair and square on Core. After a few attempts that did not go well I finally managed to get off to a decent start and actually made the most of the Bhaal abilities this time around. Controlled a couple demons that otherwise would have been a huge pain in the ass and used my immunity to time stop to good effect before the big boss came in to make a mess of things and I only had to raise one character in the middle of the fight! Party was PC Ranger/Cleric (13/26-ish), Minsc, Kelsey, Imoen, Sarevok (17-21 Ftr/Thf) + Balthazar Everything started with getting fully buffed by the final pool, Improved Alacrity+Robe of Vecna makes mage buffing go so very much faster and prevents the shorter buffs from running out before you've finished the rest of them. It was a little difficult trying to figure out just how hurt my fighters were because each of them had at least three rows of icons covering their portrait with my PC being completely covered by buff icons. Starting summons were 1 Planetar, 1 Deva and 3 Mord's Swords. First thing was have Kelsey cast Timestop and lay down a bunch of de-buffs on the group to the right while my PC ran over to Yaga-Shura and Harm'd him before casting Globe of Blades and wailing on Sendai for a little bit. From there it get's a little hazy. I don't remember when Illesara actually went down, I just remember not being pelted with arrows of dispelling anymore so Balthazar must have taken her out at some point on his own. Melissan warped in and made herself a huge pain in the ass as I had to constant breach her globe of blades to prevent her running through my group and whacking them all. Sendai teleported away and Abazigal got punched over to the opposite side of the map by Balthazar and didn't come back for a little while so while I had the free time I had my three fighters pound Gromnir into the ground and quickly heal up as Abazigal finally decides to come back around. Melissan at this point is running all over the map being chased by Balthazar who is doing a great job of keeping her away from me. Abazigal goes down to the combined might of my three tanks. The PC goes over to distract Melissan while Minsc and Sarevok lay a beat down on Sendai. At this point Melissan decides to gate in a crap load of demons. She had a Marilith from awhile back that was somehow held at the top of the map, a balor was gated in which I promptly controlled while Balthazar covered me and then two Babau came in which fought with the controlled Balor. After Sendai goes down, Minsc and Sarevok quickly take down the rest of the demons and everyone gangs up on Melissan who just sits there taking 5 or so damage per hit. Imoen casts wish and has the party's spells renewed since I was out of was to breach combat protections, my level 5 spells long since gone and wands of spell striking used up. Improved Alacrity + Summon Planetar and I now have 3 tanks + Balthazar and a Planetar all improved hasted and pounding away. Melissan goes down 2 rounds later and I've finally beaten taken one character from the beginning of BG1 all the way through to the end of ToB without cheating and a minimum of cheese. I'm sure I'm missing a fair bit of that last battle, but I think I've got most of it down. It only took me all summer to finally get through the series. Now I just need to figure out what to play next.

Apparently you can do that while transferring your saves. I'm still thinking about getting the steam version of ME, since ME2 will be released on both PC&360 simultaneously. You know that the retail version of ME is by now a lot cheaper than the Steam version? Depends on where you are. Mass Effect (Steam) looks like the same as retail price here if you don't count the exchange rate which would add a couple dollars to the total.

I think mine is still there, but I don't remember the password. It's been changed half a dozen times or so. Every time I log in I need to get it reset again.

360 Controller Support in PC Version?
Deraldin replied to squick3n's topic in Alpha Protocol: General Discussion
Track pads are the unwanted bastard children of the pointing device world. No one should be forced to use one of those horrible things. Track point > track pad. -
Can we go around without holding guns.
Deraldin replied to ninjitsubob's topic in Alpha Protocol: General Discussion
I'd argue that there are several missions in the original Thief game that were much scarier than anything that System Shock threw at you. At least in System Shock, if those unspeakable horrors found you, you could still kill them. Hammer haunts on the other hand would wipe the floor with you in anything even remotely resembling a fair fight. I see you... -
Any news on PS3 version anywhere?
Deraldin replied to ironcreed's topic in Alpha Protocol: General Discussion
If I'm not mistaken, a lot of the early footage that was shown was done so with the PS3 version of the game if the PS3 button icons during the conversation scenes were any indication. I don't recall much talk about any specific version of the game. -

Yeah. In other words: it was realistic. I think some people are used to FPS aiming where high energy particle scientists can pick up rocket launchers gauss guns and immediately know how to fire them 100% accuracy at small, fast moving headcrabs. It's been awhile since I played Deus Ex but didn't weapon skill only affect aiming when you were actually aiming and not shooting from the hip? -

Deraldin replied to ninjitsubob's topic in Alpha Protocol: General Discussion
Yeah, I can't really think of any reason to consider the aiming system in Deus Ex bad. It was kind of annoying trying to hit anyone at range if you weren't skilled with a weapon, but it was still definitely possible if you took your time. Still, it never bothered me because I knew it was because I had no skill in the weapon I was using and I could see a noticeable improvement when I increased my weapon skills. -
If I actually posted every post that I type up I'd probably have double my current post count. I tend to write entire posts then hit the back button because I think the post is stupid or makes no sense. I've done it three times just writing up this one post.

I'm almost at the end of my Baldur's Gate series run. The only thing I have left to complete is the final area. Hurray Ascension! Party composition is: PC Ranger/Cleric 13/27 Minsc Kelsey Imoen Sarevok Fighter/Thief 17/21 Unfortunately I didn't manage to get Sarevok up high enough to grab UAI for him so he doesn't get to use Carsomyr +6, or scrolls of Mislead/Invisibility/Spell Immunity for huge backstabs with Staff of the Ram +6. Instead he's using the upgraded Gram and 8 attacks per round with improved haste. Who needs 10 attacks for one round with Greater Whirlwind when you can have 7-8 with Improved Haste and have it last for 2 turns? Unfortunately I seem to have completely used up my rod of resurrection so I can't recharge it for the final battle.

There were a couple other sections that I remember having to repeat a fair number of times, although that was mainly because I was ignoring everyone and not even trying to knock them out. Coming out of the storm drains was one such location because of that damned barbed wire fence. The other section was on the boat. That level is impossible to complete just running past people.

Dragon Age was pushed back to the beginning of November.

Okay, this has been bothering me for a while.

That's a tad rude... I could be wrong, but I think my edit of that quote shows the original intention a little better.
