You mean like this?
-
That's not entirely true. There is a limited homing aspect to the heavy melee and if you hit it, your target will freeze in position while you charge up the attack. There is also a slight charge forward as well so you don't have to be right on top of the enemy.

It doesn't open for everyone until the 17th. Should be a lot more players then.

So anyone else playing the multiplayer yet? I managed to rope a couple friend into a few rounds last night. We only managed to get to wave 8 though. One of us disconnected and the rest of us got taken down by the swarms of enemies. "ENEMIES EVERYWHERE!"

Recruit packs get you bonus items for use in multiplayer. Could include one round powerups, special abilities (ammo refil, medigel to revive yourself after being downed), new weapons, or new character creation options. Basically the same stuff you'd get with the starter pack, just more variety and you can purchase it more than once.

I spent a couple hours playing some multiplayer co-op in the ME3 demo. I really, really can't wait until I pick up something better than that damn avenger rifle.

From what I've heard, if you don't import a saved game, the default is almost all Renegade decisions but I played Paragon. Also, for FemShep, Kaiden lives, and I don't like him. That's what Mass Effect Saves is for. Damn you, now I must replay it.

Watch out Gomez! Price doubled his season point total tonight. He's coming for you!

I feel so inadequate.

But! But that's not- Oh, okay then. I haven't played much lately. I played a few games of NHL12 as my created pro. Got my ass handed to me in 5 straight games. For some reason my team mates had apparently lost all ability to score when I stepped up to All-Star from Pro difficulty. Other than that I started up Bastion and Avadon: The Black Fortress, but I haven't put more than a couple hours into either of those.

Go play Vanquish. It's a fantastic game and it should only take you a few hours to complete.

Had someone share this with me earlier tonight. Apparently there was an issue with the time clock in the LA-CBJ game which resulted in a goal for LA after time should have expired. Gotta feel bad for Columbus. As if their season wasn't bad enough, they got screwed out of at least a point tonight.

Believe it or not, there actually are people that watch the all star game! I watched it with the rest of the family. It's one of the few times they'll actually sit down and watch a game with me so I usually take advantage of the opportunity. Neither of my parents are huge hockey fans but for some reason the all star game is entertaining enough that they'll flip it on without my prompting. Although maybe that's just because there was nothing else on saturday night.

Xcom update! It's not September and I'm finally getting my guys started on psionics training. I can only hope that at least some of them show some aptitude for not being mind controlled. I'm pretty sure that my captain isn't too shabby which I am grateful for as he is a one man alien murdering machine right now. He was one of two soldiers I had on a mission earlier in the month that did not end up mind controlled at some point. August went pretty well. My monthly rating was 11,408, but I lost all my Nigerian 419 income. Apparently they weren't happy about the alien base that was set up on the 30th that I couldn't get to because my transport was still being repaired after shooting down a battleship on an alien base mission. Apparently I didn't get it in time. And the crappy thing is that I think the base is a snakeman base. I really don't want to go fight a bunch of chrysalids in tight corridors. >_>

I've researched most things in the game at this point. There are a few aliens I haven't managed to get, but I think that is about it. Oddly enough I haven't seen a single Muton so far. I still need to locate another alien base so I can get the last mission. I've had all the weapons for almost two months now and am sitting on a pile of 150 scientists that have nothing to research.

Xcom still. Part way through August now. I have two psionics laboratories that will be finished by the end of the week so I'll be able to start checking out the psi stats. I'm down to 4 non rookies and one of them is on the shelf for a couple weeks with an injury. A week in two battleships landed in north africa and I couldn't pass up the opportunity so I loaded up my Avenger with my three troopers and a full complement of rookies in order to storm the battleships. Thankfully they were only floaters. I managed to take the first battleship with only two losses. The second one ended with six casualties as my reaction training line was nailed by an alien grenade, wiping out 6 more of them and causing 3/4s of the rest to either panic or go berserk. After getting them under control, those that remained stormed the battleship to avenge their comrades. Two more were taken out by a large explosion on the command deck while another was brought down to 4HP from a misaimed laser blast of a colleague who was attempting to save his three buddies in the hallway from a floater with a blaster launcher. He managed to take out the floater with a desperation snap shot when he ran out of TU's for auto shots. I need a new load of recruits.

If you can get close enough you can disable them. You can avoid setting them off by moving when they aren't blinking or by crouching and sneaking. EDIT: Dammit Tale!

Trying to beat. I've played it a few times before but always quit before getting to Mars. The only thing that I haven't been using so far are smoke grenades. Regular grenades have come in handy a few times for clearing out small UFO's where everyone survived being shot down somehow. The reserve time units button is my best friend. Finally I think it's about time that I assign some heavy plasmas to my troops. Laser rifles are starting to show their age now that ethereals are begining to appear.

Trying to beat Xcom for the very first time. It did not start well with 5 of my starting 8 soldiers dying on the very first mission before they even spotted the alien that was shooting them. It didn't help that only one of the other three soldiers was able to actually kill an alien with the standard rifle. Everyone else seemed to have their shots plink off the Sectoids massive heads. That was followed up with a base defence at the start of february. Not nearly as bad as it could have been. I lost 5 of 12 soldiers on that one, but one died to a fatal wound I didn't realize he had (I swear he was never hit though!) and another died on the last turn to a cyber disk that was hiding above the entrance to my hanger. Other than those I've been pretty lucky. I didn't run into my first Chrysalid until after I had flying suits and all three alien bases I've blown up have been floater bases so no mind control and no Chrysalids in tight corridors. The US and Canada both signed pacts with the aliens. This is all revenge for locating my second base in Cuba isn't it...

Is there no way to increase the number of posts per page anymore? I can't seem to find an option for that. I would also suggest removing the "Interests" section from people's posts otherwise you can end up with things like this:

Let's Play: Baldur's Gate Trilogy - Ch26 (Mae'Var)

But... but I need my fix man! You can't leave me hangin' like this! -
Sorry, the most I can do is "like" you.
-
Seems to be just the old quotes that are borked. Anything made after the switch works for me.
-
You should be sorry for that.

What? Change? But I don't like change! I'm young and set in my ways! I don't like this one bit, no sir! Seconding the "quotes are broken" from above. Also, the "this message has been edited" bar overlaps with images that are attached to the post. Like this:
