  1. This thread makes me cry. I've been a civ addict for the past 13 years (I just counted). I played Civ1 regularly for about 4 or 5 years. I can't afford to buy the game right now, and even if that wasn't true, my computer probably can't handle the game anyway. I visit this thread so that I can imagine how great it would be if I could play Civ4 right now. :'( I need my Civ4 fix. I'm pathetic.
  2. I was talking about the grammar. And making a joke...
  3. I thought the key thing in poetry is that there is no such thing as a key thing in poetry.
  4. Has anyone noticed that the title of this thread is no asking whether you'll buy the game? It's stating everyone will purchase it. Perhaps the thread starter has one of those red light thingies MIB. I will only make a decision when(if?) KOTOR3 comes out.
  5. Saw Maltese Falcon. Great stuff.
  6. Should be: "singular dream engulfs" or "singular dreams engulf" Not entirely sure what you are trying to say with this verse. "its" not "it's" Optimistic. Typo? I haven't spotted anything wrong with the second poem. Interesting poems, if a bit verbose.
  7. The title of this thread just got that awful Kylie Minogue song stuck in my head. HELP!!!!
  8. Mostly platform games: Jet Set Willy Contra Super Metroid And also: Blockout. It's 3d tetris.
  9. The last movie I saw was The Constant Gardener. It's great. It's by Fernando Meirelles, the director of City of God. This guy is turning into one of my favourite directors. Also saw Wallace and Gromit. Great fun.
  10. Just the mention of the words "conspiracy theory" make me cringe. I found the whole story to be conspiracy this and conspiracy that. And I couldn't relate to any of the characters. P.S.:I would give a more elaborate answer, but I have to go. Sorry.
  11. The game is indeed, very well designed and one of the reasons Warren Spector is so well regarded in the industry. However, I have to say I was pretty disappointed by the story. I found it to be pretty superficial and boring. Another thing that annoyed me in the game were the character models. I remember playing NOLF at around the same time and there was a huge difference in quality of the models. Edit: Typos
  12. I can watch two, even three movies without stopping. So one isn't a problem.
  13. Well, here in Portugal minimum wage is around 350
  14. This seems to be a similar arrangement as the one between Bethesda and Zenimax. And, as far as I know, Bethesda has complete creative freedom in the making of their games. So this doesn't necessarily have to be a bad thing.
  15. I used to play Super Mario Bros. on my Spectrum. It wasn't like the NES version at all. You could play Mario against Luigi in a PvP game. Edit: LINKY
  16. Umm, I chose that example, because it was a pretty extreme example.
  17. Now, you're assuming I'm a religious guy. I'm not, I just think religion has its uses. Also, I was trying to point out that people are the ones who define what is or isn't valuable. So, for example, getting whipped gives pleasure to some people, hence they pay money for it, and hence it is worth something to them.
  18. You can't eat it, it doesn't protect you from cold, it can't take you to places (no, hell & heaven don't count), and for the majority, it's not enough to be happy. Mostly worthless. Ok. What is the point of religion, then?
  19. If religion has value for a lot of people how can you call it worthless?
  20. Does that mean I got most of the scientific questions wrong? I'd like to think I am pretty smart when it comes to science. The two guys are Planck and Newton, right? Mn stands for Manganese, right? Any one? I'm pretty sure the guy with the beard was Maxwell, not Planck.
  21. You are a funny swede.
  22. "Low Ranking Nerd. Definitely a nerd but low on the totem pole of nerds." Only 32% are nerdier than me. Is that sad? Should I care?
  23. "Nietzsche is dead.", God
