You never heard of the Iran-Contra affair? Copy pasted from the net: The shortest version of it is that the US government (Reagan administration, specifically) - in secret - made deals that provided weapons to groups in Iran (which was under a weapons embargo at the time, meaning nobody in the world could give them arms). The money from those weapons was funnelled to a rebel group (the Contras) in Nicaragua that was fighting the legitimately-elected government of that country (because we didn't like that government's policies). The US was, at the time, explicitly prohibited from giving money directly to the Contras by the Boland Amendment, which is why we resorted to such underhanded tactics in the first place. During the hearings, which were some of the first major court proceedings to be broadcast live in the United States (possibly the first), there were serious allegations that President Reagan had been involved in the planning and execution of the affair. Oliver North, who was the head of the operation, admitted to having shredded a ton of documents - likely anything that would have linked the scandal to the President - but the exact contents of many of those documents were never fully disclosed and no link to Reagan could ever be proven. I linked and quoted the announcement whereby Obsidian says which backer tiers got the DLC for free, as opposed to having to buy the $20 extra. See my post above. Huh. Serves me for not paying proper attention. So it's confirmed that we gold backers should get the season pass in our profiles, eventually.

The DLC season pass was not part of the Ultimate digital - it was 'sold' seperately. https://imgur.com/skwUf5i.png I haven't been able to find some sort of confirmation from Obsidian regarding that. My googling skills seem to be failing me. I do know that I don't get any sort of discount if I try to buy the DLC now.

Some people in Europe have already gotten their hands on retail copies of Deadfire. They come with install DVDs, but it's still necessary to wait until the game gets released on Steam. I think there may be a way to force Steam to install the game from the DVDs, but I'm not sure. Try to disable your internet connection before installing the game, for instance. However, regardless of your success in installing the game, you will have to wait until the evening, though. 5 hours from now.

With the first game, you got the digital version of the guidebook both in the Steam files and in the backer portal, as well as the physical book. So the new guidebook should show up in the portal, for us, eventually.

I think I read that they've changed that later due to some Steam editions, so as long as your above a certain price level backer-wise, you'd still get it. So as a gold backer I will get this season pass you speak of? Or DLC, or whatever it is called. Or is it two different things? The season pass is what, these days, the young whippersnappers call the collected DLC. The expansions plus the horse armor, if you will.

Well, nothing about the DLC shows up for me yet, anyway.

Here's something I was unaware of. My Ultimate Fig Edition doesn't seem to include the DLC. Also, the new guidebook doesn't show up for me in the portal.

It's actually pretty normal. Lack of balance is a very common problem with games, especially with difficulty levels, considering that in many games difficulty levels are implemented more as an afterthought. Let's just raise monster HP/deploy more enemies without thought, because almost everyone just plays on normal and we can't justify extra dev time for this is not an unusual thing.
