What the hell are you doing here was going to be my question. Instead, it is whether you are still Swedish.

Stickied, for now. Post any typos, here. -
Well, yeah, European governments can go ahead and say they'll keep their side of the deal, and that will help somewhat in Iran. What it won't help is NATO and trade relations between the EU and the US. The Trump admin has already potentially given away control of trade relations in the Pacific by scuppering TPP, so this could certainly be a way to fast track the US towards isolationism. In any case, I personally think that America has already surrendered the driver's seat of international relations to China. It just doesn't know it yet. I dunno, maybe climate change will make all these changes moot. Or maybe China will succumb to its own really serious internal problems. What I do know is that, one way or another, things are going south, and an incompetent idiot narcissist is gleefully helping everything along. MAGA.

I see. And what was "won"? The treaty was the result of a lot of negotiating between western governments and the Iranian moderates. The more extremist Iranians were always against the agreement, so the US going back on the treaty is a clear sign that the West cannot be trusted and that the moderates were fools to fight against significant internal opposition to it. Trump has essentially given the extremists a huge leg up in the next elections. Of course, you might say that the moderates are only that in name only, so who cares, but the fact of the matter is that the difference between the two factions is huge, especially when considering Iran's foreign policy.

That's the hardliners celebrating the huge political victory Trump dropped on their laps.

The limit is kind of fluid these days, but technically there's a rule that says our threads shouldn't go over 500 posts. Nowadays, the hardware can take the heat of very large threads, but way back when (before I even became a mod), things were supposedly a little bit iffier on that front. Anyway, off topic. Edit: You made me check and the rule was officially instated in January of 2007. Actually a lot later than I thought it had but still before my time as a mod. Still off topic so I'll stop now.

The US just can't stop blundering in the Middle East. The US just can't stop inadvertently pushing power in the Middle East more into the hands of Extremist Islam.

I'm not sure what he wanted entered into things very much. It seems to me now he was there just to look presidential and trustworthy.

You never heard of the Iran-Contra affair? Copy pasted from the net: The shortest version of it is that the US government (Reagan administration, specifically) - in secret - made deals that provided weapons to groups in Iran (which was under a weapons embargo at the time, meaning nobody in the world could give them arms). The money from those weapons was funnelled to a rebel group (the Contras) in Nicaragua that was fighting the legitimately-elected government of that country (because we didn't like that government's policies). The US was, at the time, explicitly prohibited from giving money directly to the Contras by the Boland Amendment, which is why we resorted to such underhanded tactics in the first place. During the hearings, which were some of the first major court proceedings to be broadcast live in the United States (possibly the first), there were serious allegations that President Reagan had been involved in the planning and execution of the affair. This, if proven, would have been an impeachable offense and could have brought down one of the US' most popular Presidents. Reagan claimed to not remember having any part in any meetings or ever having been aware of it. He didn't actively deny it, but claimed "I do not recall" eighty-eight times in eight hours of testimony. Oliver North, who was the head of the operation, admitted to having shredded a ton of documents - likely anything that would have linked the scandal to the President - but the exact contents of many of those documents were never fully disclosed and no link to Reagan could ever be proven. Reagan was a "big picture" guy. I believe he was not aware of the details. I suspect it went down something like this: Reagan: "Bob, Id really like to do something to help the Contras out. Would you like a jellybean?" Robert McFarland (NSA) : "I'll look into it Mr. President" Robert McFarland: "John, how can we get funds to the Contras?" John Poindexter: "Leave it to me Bob" And on it goes from there From what I've read recently about Reagan I got the impression that he was a very much a figurehead President. More so than other presidents, that is. @Matteo89.b: European countries allow citizens to buy firearms. They are not any more restricted than cars.

I linked and quoted the announcement whereby Obsidian says which backer tiers got the DLC for free, as opposed to having to buy the $20 extra. See my post above. Huh. Serves me for not paying proper attention. So it's confirmed that we gold backers should get the season pass in our profiles, eventually.

Well, he is famous for getting guns into the hands of people the Democrats did not want to have them. How is he not universally reviled in the US?

I recommend you wait until the game gets released (19h). If the problem persists after that, say something. It’s out in less than 4 hours, my friend. It's out at 19h. 7pm. So not too long to wait. -
The DLC season pass was not part of the Ultimate digital - it was 'sold' seperately. https://imgur.com/skwUf5i.png I haven't been able to find some sort of confirmation from Obsidian regarding that. My googling skills seem to be failing me. I do know that I don't get any sort of discount if I try to buy the DLC now.

Installing game on Steam from physical media: https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=5357-FSQM-0382 Don't forget that you will still have to wait for the game to get released. -

Some people in Europe have already gotten their hands on retail copies of Deadfire. They come with install DVDs, but it's still necessary to wait until the game gets released on Steam. I think there may be a way to force Steam to install the game from the DVDs, but I'm not sure. Try to disable your internet connection before installing the game, for instance. However, regardless of your success in installing the game, you will have to wait until the evening, though. 5 hours from now.
