  1. Really? Could you elaborate?
  2. I wonder if that's true. Has anyone actually tried?
  3. The marine part of AvP, and most of SS2 were pretty much built around making you scared witless thorugh your enemies, the gampelay, and the environment. They were, to me, just beyond awesome in the way they got you to feel scared. I wouldn't call it horror, though, it's more like extreme suspense. The RE style fear through crap controls, on the other hand seems just lazy design to me. As for F.E.A.R., while I enjoyed its fights immensely, I thought that the scary bits only made the game feel broken and disjointed, and never managed to scare me at all. Except for the bit with the ladder. That was a nice trick. This review made me want to give Condemned a go.
  4. How did you keep 30 lovers with the love bar maxed out?

But I'm not even comparing Deus Ex's models to modern games' models. I'm saying that for its time, Deus Ex had awful, awful models. And on topic: Zelda overworld tune!
  6. It's not going to happen, of course, but I wish they'd just let Star Wars die. I've had enough, and it's like they're effectively trying to take away a bit of my childhood from me. And I think they've succeeded, too.

The problem I think is that I played Deus Ex after NOLF. The difference in character models and animation quality was huge. And how did Deus Ex models not make the characters look like cartoons? Cartoons drawn by a retarded six year old but still cartoons. And the fact that there was one geometry model for all women and one model for all men didn't really help. And then there were the Final Fantasy swords. What was up with that?

I thought Deus Ex's soundtrack was far and away, the worst thing about it. BG&E had some good tracks. Edit: Actually, the worst thing about Deus Ex were the character models and animations. But the soundtrack was still crap.
  9. Associating character development with your level is the worst design decision Bioware ever made. It started with NWN and became the standard in Bioware games. The second worst design decision was to take away the party, thus effectively killing party NPC banter. It's like they picked out the best things about BG2 and decided to axe them. And the gaming community just took it up the wazoo, and practically thanked Bioware for it.
  10. Should I feel insulted?

  11. I thought that even Kreia, toward the end, kind of lost qualities. I seem to remember that originally she wasn't meant to be the main antagonist. Maybe it was because of that.
  12. Cake - Dime
  13. 1. 27 2. On and off. 3. 4 hours. 4. European as I am European. 5. Portugal, Egypt, Denmark, England. 6. Yes, as I am Portuguese. 7. It has, for me, the best RTS gameplay ever, and the TBS portion of the game isn't too shabby either. 8. It would, if it wasn't a bit iffy on that department. 9. None.
  14. Like women of ill repute?
  15. I'd say that what happened in BG1 is that people filled in the blanks, and Bioware's sup par writing didn't really manage to shine through, so to speak. And yes, I'd say Torment, Anachronox, MotB, and Fallout 2 had some interesting NPCs, and perhaps better than BG2's NPCs. AS for KOTOR2 while the characters were potentially interesting, most felt incomplete. KOTOR1's characters either made me want to kill small, cuddly animals or were ignorable. Whoever wrote Carth and Bastila should have their writing licence instantly revoked.
  16. Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Undead I wonder if this will be any good.
  17. While I agree that BG2 wasn't all that good at NPC characterization, I also think, however, that there haven't been many PC games with NPCs as well fleshed out as BG2. It's just the generally low standards of gaming writing that make it stand out for me. As for BG1, I really don't see where you're coming from. Almost all the NPCs in BG1 were mostly just the voice sets. They were good character concepts, but not much else.
  18. For that budget, you could get a 8800GT. However, if I were you I'd save a few quid and buy a 9600GT. What, pray tell, is your system?
  19. I'm pretty sure your Hentai "acquaintances" don't actually count as real people.
  20. I've never really understood this discrimination against gingerheads. What's that about?
  21. Try this song on Audiosurf. Holy mother of God.
  22. Ive never really understood this discrimination against redheads. What's that about?
  23. As this problem seems to stem from the use of pirated software, this is an issue no one can help you with, as piracy is not condoned by Obsidian. As such, if you wish to play KOTOR2, my only advice is that you buy the game. There are many retailers from which the game is available for a fairly low price. Locked.
  24. While I'd agree it's at least on par with KOTOR, I don't think NWN2's OC was quit as good as BG2.
