  1. Perfectly bland, boring and pedestrian?
  2. HL proved that FPS-es can have stories, movie-like experience, had great AI, and introduced interaction with your environment (a certain microwave). That's pretty radical. Remember, 1998, not 2009. Two of those I covered. Movie-like experience doesn't really mean anything. And wasn't interaction with the environment mostly about crate smashing? Hitler threw me off.
  3. None of those games had even a part of the significance or radical change in gameplay that Half Life brought. System Shock is the only one that is even in the upper "legendary" class of shooters. The rest are just periodic hits. 1st: you asked for better shooters not for signficance and radical change. 2nd: "radical change?" The AI was much better than in previous FPSs and developing the narrative without removing the player from the game was pretty awesome even if done before by System Shock, but other than that?
  4. I have System Shock 1 CD version, System Shock 2, and Alpha Centauri boxed with all the goodies still inside. Also, I have the CE of the Witcher, and two copies of Storm of Zehir, signed and unsigned. These are the highlights. No camera, though. By the way, even if you only buy digital versions of your games, you are still materialistic.
  5. I should be getting 15Mb not 10Mb. I wonder what's wrong.
  6. System Shock. No One Lives Forever. TRON 2.0. Rainbow Six. Rogue Spear. S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Edit: I'd include DeusEx and SS2, too, but people would start saying they're RPGs, or something.
  7. What, the first one? Compared to "Game of the Year. It's official." The second one compared to about every good FPS I've ever played.
  8. That's like saying you don't like ice cream. How do you know you don't like it, if you haven't played it? I found Half-Life disappointing, and Half-Life 2 just plain bad.
  9. I believe ETW was victim of loudmouth complainer syndrome, a handful of people with problems kicking up such a fuss that it seemed a lot bigger than it was. I dont know anyone who has had any major problems with ETW. With a truly broken game, like Damnation, you know its real because people complaints will come from more than one source. Well, I agree that ETW wasn't broken from the point of view of stability and game breaking bugs. However, the no land invasions AI retardedness made the campaign essentially pointless, which, for me, meant that the game turned into a coaster, and not a very good one, at that. And also, it annoys me a great deal they needed months to release a patch to fix a bug that had already been fixed in previous iterations of the series. It's really gross incompetence.
  10. I disagree. I second Oerwinde's disagreement. Best Adam Sandler movie since Happy Gilmore. Better than a bloody awful movie, you say. I wouldn't call that disagreeing. Sandler's best is Punch Drunk Love, by the way. It's not even a contest.
  11. Up quite good if a bit uneven. The beginning is just incredible (I cried), the rest is ok with moments of brilliant hilarity. Like when the kid passes the blimp's cabin.
  12. What would be cool, would be to use a bad guy as a meat shield. Or perhaps to keep the bad guys at bay by holding a gun against a guy's temple. How explosive is the environment, by the way? Will there be propane tanks and the like waiting to be blown as a diversion/weapon?
  13. Tron 2.0 is pretty awesome. It's basically NOLF in a different setting with more varied weapons and lightcycles.

Post more often, you horrible person. The movie thread in particular has been left to the philistine wolves.
  15. Well, the different weapons are mostly meaningless, and balance is completely off its rocker. I wouldn't call it broken, however. It's just kind of bad.
  16. Is it possible to get through missions without any interaction with the bad guys? Meaning getting in and out without touching anyone or letting them see you.
  17. Posting here is the best way to always hang around, but at the same time appear to have a life due to the low post count. Welcome.
  18. Thanks go out to the guy above me.

    Drabek delivers!
  20. From work: That's with some 80 people connected.
  21. It's fairly short, but with loads of replayability
  22. If this doesn't come out for the PC I will kill Tim Schafer with my mind.
  23. So when you first start the game you have two difficulty settings (normal and recruit), and depending on which you choose you get different dialogue options. Is that correct?
