  1. Of course KOTOR was turn-based! Didn't you guys notice the whole "Feedback" section in the pause menu where you could actually check out what happened in the last battle? "Wow, what happened there, it was all a blur!" *Checks feedback - "Oh, looks like I missed with all three attacks of my flurry, then that dude rolled a 20 to hit me with a critical strike PLUS I failed my fortitude saving throw. That stunned me so I missed my turn and then he nailed me with an Improved Power Attack hitting with 41 versus my defense of 21, resulting in a crapload of damage. Looks like I got owned." KOTOR was turn-based, it just played flashy animations to make it look like the characters were fighting in real-time. AND Bio/OBS even incorporated a "autopause-after-each-turn" option for the old-fashioned gamers who each battle to take 15 minutes. I never used it, because I prefer to pause on my own to assign actions, but it was there.
  2. Neil Young - The Painter
  3. Does anyone remember Pirates of Dark Water? I remember it being sweet, although the fog of youth may have something to do with that judgment.
  4. Yesssss, that's the one! Good stuff. IIRC, I stopped watching cartoons about the time the Power Rangers made their debut. Things just started to get too hyper. Cartoons these days are enough to give a guy a seizure.
  5. How old are you? That was something I watched. That and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles...the first one, on Fox. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> 23. Also remember lovin' me some Ninja Turtles, before they got all aggro like they are on TV these days. It was kind of funny in a way... they were supposed to be ninjas, but all the "fighting" was usually just slapstick comedy. Yeah, watched some Looney Tunes in my day, too. There was also a "school-age" Looney Tunes show I remember...
  6. I remember being a big Darkwing Duck fan.
  7. Wow... I didn't even realize that was Trent. He looks different these days. More... British, I guess, now that you mentioned it. Oh, and that "Turn the Page" song is the "bomb-diggity." you can't do 'alf, my crew laughs at yer rhubarb and custard verses you rain down curses but i'm drivin' your hearses flyin' by, Streets ridin' high ^off the cuff, but most likely correct. Oh, and I'm watching the " " video again. That Terry Callier dude has a fantastic soul voice.
  8. Twilight Singers - Teenage Wristband How was this not a hit again? Kor, those Urge Overkill guys sure know how to play the rock star, don't they? Also, I highly (pun IN-tended) doubt School of Fish were straight-edge. And here's a blast from the past. 1983, to be exact. U2 - Two Hearts Beat as One
  9. Ah, Michael Ironside. Come on, you apes! You wanna live forever?
  10. I guess I missed that phase of the Beasties' career. Damn, man. I love that "Live With Me" song. Here's the , as done by Massive Attack. Pretty artsy video, basically chronicling one girl getting on the booze train solo and riding all the way down.
  11. Hell, I never knew they played instruments! The Twilight Singers - Live With Me/Where Did You Sleep Last Night FYI: It's a live broadcast from a Belgium rock festival called Pukkelpop, I think. Mark Lanegan is on lead vocals on these songs. The first is a Massive Attack song, and the second is the classic blues number (Muddy Waters, I think?) that Nirvana popularized on their unplugged album.
  12. Ah, the 90s. The Sea and Cake - Alone, For the Moment It's from 1995, and it's on a recommendation!
  13. Jordan Zevon - Studebaker
  14. Whatever happened to that guy? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> His sophomore album flopped, but he's back with a new one. The jury is still out, but so far it's good. Whiskeytown - Houses on the Hill
  15. I have Rubber Factory; it's a great CD. Especially Stack Shot Billy, The Lengths and 10 a.m. Automatic. Pete Yorn - Undercover
  16. NOFX - My Heart is Yearning From the seminal "Punk in Drublic" album.
  17. I'm doing the fantasy football thing this year for the first time. It's addicting... and it also means I'm paying closer attention than I usually do. As it is, my Steelers lost a tough one Monday night. That Jags defense was tough.
  18. I already stated my opinion in the other thread about Fallout so I won't pontificate too much here, but I agree with Feng. The combat was innovative, but way too slow. I could take my turn, go make a four-course dinner, then come back and take my next turn.
  19. Oooh. I have heard of that. Because of the Cave connection, of course. Yesterday I watched another episode of Buffy, the one where Willow was meeting up with that "magic-drug dealer" character. He reminded me of Bishop Vick from Bloodlines, heh.
  20. Have you heard the version of that on the Live 75-85 3 CD mini-box set? I would pronounce it "incendiary."
  21. Yeah, I don't know about that other artistic crap, but everybody knows Army of Darkness rocks.
  22. Radiohead - Nice Dream Now: Todd Snider - Looking for a Job
  23. Funny you ask. Reel Big Fish actually had an album titled "Why do they Rock so Hard?" Of the semi-popular ska-punkers, I always preferred Goldfinger, but I still occasionally rock out to the RBF.
  24. (w00t) (w00t) It's a banner day on YouTube folks. Yo Draken, I saw RBF/Goldfinger twice a few years back on the Crouching Fish/Hidden Finger tour. They put on a great show.
  25. Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds - The Mercy Seat (acoustic) followed with The Lemonheads - Great Big No I love listening to music at work. :D
