I'm a card-carrying member of tADS. Other than that, I've got maybe five or six total posts at the Bioware board. That's it. -

Didn't you give that honor to Low a week ago? Speaking of Bowie and the Arcade Fire, I stumbled across a rather high-quality live set of theirs a week or so ago. In that set, they covered one of my favorite Bowie songs, "Five Years." I was flipping channels the other day and that song was playing. It was a comedy with Cameron Diaz in it... I can't tell ya much more than that as I flipped on by as soon as the song was over. The Clash - The Call Up

Yeah, it was a "Stone Cold Crazy" rip-off of Freddie's style. Still his character really brought "A Kind of Magic" to the screen.

Nope, the Temps are solid... and "Adam Raised a Cain" is one of my favorite early Springsteen tracks. I found an acoustic version on YouTube... I hate it almost as much as the Seeger Sessions version that I won't link, because it's too painful to watch. Why, Bruce, why? Why'd you take the teeth out of one of your best songs? Kor: Great Springsteen link with one of my favorite songs off Born in the USA... I was watching CBS Sunday Morning (because I'm an old man, I know) and they had a feature on Little Stevie Van Zandt. He was talking about what an idiot he was for leaving the E Street Band right before the BITUSA album. Anyway, they showed a few clips from his solo albums and dear God, they were terrible. I wonder which E Street member had the worst solo albums? I know Nils, Stevie and Clarence all came out with a few that could be contenders. Buffalo Tom - Sunday Night

I own Hercules in New York on DVD, the version with Arnold's original non-dubbed vocal track. It's a masterpiece. Also, Commando is the quintessential Arnold movie. It's also the perfect action film.

Someone sent you the link? Haha, yes someone sent me the link. Neko Case - The Virginian

I saw the Anna/bot thing the other day when I was sent a link to it. It's always interesting to see what's popular in other areas of the globe... as odd as it is, it's not even close to the Brits keeping a stupid frog ringtone at the top of the music charts for like 43 months. Matthew Ryan - Everybody Always Leaves I like the song, so I was pleased to see that I liked the video, too.

Wow, that is not how I pictured that Sargallath Abraxium dude. Oh, and ditto what mkreku said on the Tarna pic. Wooo!

I really like that song too, its like its reminiscent of something I just can't put my finger on. Squeak E. Clean ~ Hello Tomorrow Yeah, my buddy and I both agree that it's the best song on the CD. you don't have to go to the right kind of schools let your boyfriend come from the right kind of schools you can wear his old sweatshirt you can cover yourself like a bruise The Afghan Whigs - Amphetamines and Coffee

I saw Edwards on a speaking tour back when he was running as VP on Kerry's ticket. I don't know if he still uses the "Two Americas" bit, but it makes a lot of sense. I agree with his stance on strengthening the middle class, but what I really like is his universal health care plan (endorsed by Paul Krugman, NY Times columnist and professor of economics at Princeton!). Edwards also is calling for a complete removal of U.S. troops in Iraq within 12-18 months, which might make him popular at home, even if it leaves the Iraqis high and dry. I might support him in the primary if he closes the gap enough to make a win possible.

Heh, pretty soon Newt Gingrich will join the fray, or so I hear. Now he is a thoroughly detestable man. He ran roughshod over Slick Willy for his extramarital activities while conducting his own on the side. I like Barack Obama and John McCain. I've always voted Democrat, so I'll probably vote for their candidate come November, but I wouldn't be too upset if McCain ends up in the Oval Office. I respect him; he's an admirable character. I'm sure Giuliani will be using the "9/11! 9/11! 9/11!" campaign technique, and I really don't think Americans want to hear much more of that right now. Hillary lacks her husband's charisma (does anybody remember his speech at the last Dem convention? He really made Kerry look like a stuffed suit), and she'll have a hard time shaking the "coattail rider" image.

Wasnt Boston heavily into the use of synthesizers? They had keyboards, sure, but Boston was all about the guitars. Their lead guy, Tom Scholz, was such a perfectionist he designed his own line of guitar equipment.

One of my most successful mix CDs, "Classic Rock Drinking Mix," opened up with "Don't Look Back" -- one of my favorite Boston songs. They had a great mix of rawkin' guitars and the kind of vocal harmonies you couldn't make with ProTools. I'll never forget when a complete stranger came up to me at the party and wanted me to burn him an exact copy of that CD. It's nice when someone realizes the care that goes into crafting a superior mix CD.

The Afghan Whigs - I'm a Soldier NEW SONG! It's off the upcoming Rhino Records retrospective, entitled The Unbreakable Afghan Whigs. They got in the studio for a few days and cut two new songs for the record. No tour planned though... that makes me a sad panda.

Yesssss! Ted Leo - Building Skyscrapers in the Basement is there a place to go where a little girl might never have to know? and is there a time of night when she'll ever feel it's safe to dim the light? i know some things i'd rather not, like the time ahead is all the time you've got. and one other thing i know: out from under layer after dark layer, as the years go by, a little girl can grow.

Maybe I'll break out some Todd Snider. Maybe "Slippin' Away." Nah, that song's too much of a downer. Say Anything - Alive With the Glory of Love

And I though Of Wolf and Man was their lamest song. Patsy Cline ~ Walkin' After Midnight Hey man! I feel a change in the wind... the hair stands on the back on my neck! That song has a message.... "Seek the wolf in thyself." That's some zen stuff right there. I bet Bob Rock thought it was the sweetest thing he'd ever heard. out through the new day's mist I run! out through the new day's mist I have come! If it wasn't Metallica song about werewolves, it would sound kinda like fairies prancing through a woodland meadow, ya know? The Afghan Whigs - White Trash Party
