  1. I've found that on gaming forums, "streamlining" translates to "the game doesn't have features that *I* want", rather than the actual definition of the word. Exactly *high-five*.
  2. I just tired of people using the word "streamlining" incorrectly.
  3. You are not alone. I also was surprised when I found no NG+ options after beating the game. IMO it's an industry standard for RPGs now, has been since ChronoTrigger IMO. It's probably the second most requested addition to the game. The first being new camera angles and zooms. New Game+ is not a standard feature in the genre. At all. Look, I don't know about the sub-standard argument in this thread, BUT you missed the part where I said... "IMO (in my opinion)" twice to reaffirm that it is in fact... my opinion that it is a standard feature.

  5. Final Fantasy Doom 3 Civilization X series Command and Conquer All of these games have been dramatically changed from one iteration to the next or have been so massively overhauled at some point in franchise history as to not resemble any previous game save for a few minor details. NOBODY CARES. If your argument is that the game sucks because of the name then you have no argument. THAT IS ALL.
  6. I have yet to find reason as to why this is a bad thing. Honestly, I'm tired of playing games that offer no challenge what-so-ever. I played this game on the PC and even without the keybinding patch I was able to beat the game on Hardcore with Katarina, I died a few times in my playthrough but I actually didn't die at all in the Jeyne fights but they were challenging. I can understand frustration, but getting mad and hating a game because of challenge is, frankly, ridiculous to me as a gamer. Let's not forget the Water Temple. There are too many kids these days that grow up on easy games, becoming pampered and throwing their controllers at the wall at the first sight of difficulty.
  7. If Obsidian did a Space Siege game in the future, it would have to blow Mass Effect out of the water as far as Sci-Fi RPGs go. I don't doubt they could do it but that's a high bar to reach.
  8. Look, guys, this is the internet... you should be a pro by now. You just got trolled by someone who can't even form a coherent sentence and couldn't figure out that the mini map on the screen IS A MAP, or how to use the "bread crumble" path to missions in an already incredibly linear story. So this is how I see it. Option A Pander to an inferior intellect by explaining every detail to him in the way you would a child with ADHD. Option B Ignore and move on. These forums are slow moving so the more you post in useless troll threads the longer these kind of threads stay on the front page.
  9. Most people play it because they are bored and they've made loads of friends via WoW. The social aspect kept me hooked for years even when I found the game really annoying and boring. That's exactly what kept me playing for the past 3 years. The first 3 it was Vanilla WoW which was new, unique, and very challenging. I loved it. It just became like a second job, getting texts at work telling me I was needed for tanking etc... SW:TOR will still have Tank/Healer/DPS but apparently it's all based on a hybrid system so nobody is stuck doing one thing forever. That's kinda cool. Tera looks neat with its political system and its gorgeous. But none of them interest me as they're all based on the same mold being used since Everquest. Fallout MMO and Warhammer 40k Online would be the 2 to get me back into MMO's, even if they're the same cookie cutter mold although I hope for new innovations by then. Given Obsidian's work on the previous Fallout games and New Vegas, I hope they're at least brought in to some capacity to work on the Fallout MMO. Vigil is doing 40k the MMO (the Darksiders guys) and I couldn't be happier, Darksiders was a great game in my opinion. Fedex quests lol. Yeah hear ya there. Definitely got tired of the "go here, kill this, bring me 10 livers" quests. They really didn't start they're good quest stride until Lich King. I just can't ever bring myself back to play WoW, its like quitting drugs. I've played several MMOs and honestly I dislike them. I played EverQuest, I had two "maxed out" characters (Necro, Shaman), EverQuest 2 (short time, it was bland), and a Star Wars Galaxies which was fun as hell but narrow and not enough of a player base. The one and only thing I hate about MMOs... Stupid Trolling Numbskulls. And every MMO has them and they ruin the fun every time for me.
  10. obvious troll is obvious move along people nothing to see here fail troll failed
  11. Hate to be the guy who points out random crap, but, that is NOT on topic and DS3 is mentioned once in the first three pages and the article has nothing to do with this topic at all. It's not a review, it's an interview that mentions DS3 in a passing glance and really just focuses on SquareEnix USA's business strategies. OT=Off Topic lol *facepalm* "doh" had a brain fart, my bad

  13. Well then here's my questions. - DLC? Can we expect any? If so, can you give us ANY details? Dates? Type? Size? - It's early but are you guys at Obsidian talking to SquareEnix about DS4 yet? If no, why in the heck not? - DS3 is/was great, but without New Game +, the game loses replayability after the first few go throughs. As an industry standard for games like this, why was this feature left out? Can we expect it in the future. And... you do know it's one of the top 3 requests right? - Camera Angle. It's probably the top complaint since you fixed the "keybinding" issue... or rather lack thereof, so can we expect any camera improvements? A few more zooms and angles maybe?
  14. Again with the "streamlining" argument. You are aware that the original Dungeon Siege controls and UI scheme are simple enough that the game could be ported to the SNES right? Which is NOT the case with DS3. In fact the only thing that felt streamlined about DS3 was the size of the game. So if your complaint is that the game is too small that could be valid, but you are using a tired and frankly false argument of "streamlining". If you are mad that there is no New Game +, well that is future DLC possible. If you are mad about the small list of items and variety, well that could be expanded on in DLC too.
  15. I think the words 'sane' (as used to imply that the person isn't) and 'pathetic' are enough to be considered 'personal attacks'. The way I used sane was in the context of "sane and logical" which is not an insult but a course of action that someone who isn't projecting nonsensical reasoning would follow. Sorry, but, saying "I don't like Obsidian because the people who like them, like them." It doesn't make sense and it is not a sane or logical statement. Reality is not an insult no matter how harsh it may be. And as for the word pathetic, I used it in a metaphorical sense. If you have nothing better to do then hang around hating on a company and their products for no other reason than to provoke people who do like the company and enjoy their products. Well, then that is pathetic. That course of action is a pathetic attempt to self-inflate an online ego and persona. Nothing more. I didn't call him pathetic I said his chosen course of actions are. Again reality, no matter how harsh is not an insult. Don't want to be pathetic? Don't pursue pathetic actions.
  16. There was no personal attack in my previous post. Just true statements. Nobody is required to share his opinion, and basing your opinion of a company on the fans' support is simply ridiculous. That is not sane and logical thought processes. But I do encourage you to find a solid personal attack or insult in my post and I will do my best to change the words so it's not an attack and more of a statement.
  17. So basically, you don't want to see a DS4 because you don't like something other people defend. And because these people enjoyed something you didn't you hate the company that made the product. Now does that seem like a sane and logical course of action? Not to me. Please, like we (the community of supporters) have the responsibility of agreeing with your jaded opinion on DS3. Well we don't, sorry. We disagree, we like the game and want another of the same by the same developer. So what is keeping you here? Blind need to inflate your online ego and argue with people who like something you don't? That's pathetic, the best thing you can do now is reduce the amount of stress this is causing you and leave and take your cynicism with you.
  18. There is a keybinding patch. You don't need a controller.
  19. As far as leveling up, no the mobs are pretty much non-scaling if you stay in an area you can farm them for loot and xp and they get noticeably easier. The deal with bosses is I can't tell, but a few extra levels has made some boss fights on Hardcore easier if by only unlocking some extra trait points and skill mastery.
  20. Dude... what the hell are you talking about? I have an XBOX360 and have 100s of games. I can't think of ONE GAME where I had to pay for a patch... EVER. DLC bundled patches maybe, but that's bad business. Stand-alone patches are free and usually auto-update when you start a game.
  21. No, you played the same game, it simply means you are easily satisfied with low quality games. If anything this game got higher scores than it deserved. GO AWAY I am getting completely fed-up with you disingenuous assertions. If you don't like the game fine, post what you thought was wrong with it and MOVE ON. Right now all you are doing is trolling. Or do you really believe that YOUR opinion is the only valid opinion?
  22. *facepalm* The camera issues are present on ALL SYSTEMS.
  23. And see, I like Katarina. Nothing puts bosses down like Flintlock Fury... soooo OP.
  24. Nobody's late if they bring more beer! *high-five*
