  1. Vol does not need facts or data.. just hyerbole to 'prove' his stance.
  2. NWN2 OC was far better then NWN1 OC. Only Vol really disputes that that I have seen. The NWN1 was nothing but 2 giant fex ex qquests duct taped togethr with foreshadowing up the arse. Nothing was surprising and most all NPC characters were forgetable. Even Bioware finally admited a few yrs after release it fell far from their orginial expectations. MotB vs SoU... (xp1 vs xp1) clear winner again MotB. Obsidian clearly showing, again, why their writters are better as a whole. To Biowares credit however, for a story, design and compleate expansion they wipped up in just a couple of months they deserve kudos. HotU vs SoZ for raw SP story clearly HotU wins, I think the general concensus is almost every player enjoyed Hordes more then SoZ story wise. However for toolset content I beleive SoZ added a lot more value to module builders.
  3. Yes. However death <> good drama. Plus there only about ~80 ppl on the ship. You can't start killing off folks left and right. At least BSG had tens of thousands of ppl so a death here and there was acceptable. Not when you have less then 100.
  4. Harl is my alt actually. Not like I hide that fact. However I am trying to standardize my forums names so I retired rhomal across the board. FYI
  5. I saw in the credits listing of whos in the staff photo a 'Brian Lawson', that's not our toughpants is it?!
  6. If you do not think a core part of any aspect of entertainment (movies, graphic novels, comics, PC games, etc) is art direction and it plays a huge role in how it is perceived and accepted (or not) then you are in the minority. Think the movie Sin City minus the art direction draped in standard film presentation, or the movies LotR, 300 the tv show x-files or move to the topic the PC game myst. Rip out all their art direction and replace with bland fare and what do you have? You may still have a decent product but I promise you would have received far less acclaim then they did. Art direction and music play a HUGE role in most aspects of media entertainment but they are not always 'seen' on the surface but play critical rolls in the end product. With that said I do not think the art direction is bad for da I simply think it uninspired and gave me a feeling of been-there-seen-that. As if the art director raped the sketch books of those artists that worked on the lotr films. Rather then use his own take or direction for example. And on a side note I do agree the fire animations did stick out like a sore thumb against the other high quality art/animations, it was poorly done.
  7. This is going to be a great LotR game! Wait... On a serious note I have to admit the video looked good, but all I could think of was LotR with the art direction. It is on my radar so we'll see.
  8. DR is simply young and ignorant, give her a few years and her eyes will hopefully open. (if she isn't young.. well... erm... anyways..) V is well... V. He has his moods some very positive others not so much. While one month he and I got at it and the next we are holding hands around the fire. While I don't agree with him 100% he does makes some valid point from time to time that makes me think of my own position. However I think he get so used to the flamefest forums over on the other communities he hangs out on he brings that same attitude over here. Which isn't all that productive.
  9. The EVE expansion is around the corner... once released then WoDO goes into full production according to cpp. Should be some exciting news around the corner next few weeks.

    Dollhouse

They can't be all winners. Every writer has a miss for idea/concept. This may simply be his. As I think RDM is due for a miss and it is going to be caprica but I could be wrong. But I give caprica one, 2 seasons tops. damn sci-fi for forcing his hand and ending galactic.. it should have been 5 seasons...
  11. Because there is no where to go with it? I mean ToB tied up the story very nicely. There is really no where to go with that storyline. And if you start a fully new SL then its BG3 in title only. And if you try to shoe horn a new story where ToB ends then its really going to be convoluted and obviously forced. Its a no win either way, let the BG series RIP.
  12. And how baltar goes from helping (indirectly) to destroy the colonies to finally starting to over come his weaknesses and seeming wanting to really do some good. Its like they are all coming full circle to a degree from where they started.
  13. If you listen to moores podcasts about the eps he explains some of what is being complained about here. As for ellen as he explains shes still at the core the same character just with all her full memories. So as he explains don't expect her to be a fundamentally different char. More intelligent and slight altered in her reactions because of that, yes. Totally different no.
  14. I almost choked to death I laughed so hard when I read this! LOL
  15. Certainly bush was/is a idiot and couldn't manage himself out a wet paper bag, I am sorry his mis-mgt caused you so much ill. I hope for the best to you on both a physical and material level. You will be in my thoughts. All my best and blessings. Peter aka Harlequin aka Rhomal
  16. I think he has the overall story made - as well as the main themes (like Polyhteism vs Monotheism), with that in place I'm also sure he's making things up as he go along.. And I'm glad they (Moore and the writers) are, because I think the writing is getting more interesting. In the beginning, the story would drag it's feet when it was trying to make a serious point - now it throws them around, sometimes without regards to the overall story (like Daniel).. Which is nice, because it leaves us something to discuss and think about. I saw he wrote a 'galactica bible' for all writers to follow so they can be consistent in their stories. I would LOVE for him to release it at the end of the series, I would very much enjoy reading in and getting the behind the scenes views of all the various aspects of the mythos.
  17. As a modern day pagan (wiccan, witch, pagan wizard.. whatever title you want to assign to me) I have been thinking the same thing... funny you bring it up. Xians at first were killed and treated like outcasts for the first century or two until the first xian emperor came to power and made it the state religion and the tables got turned on the pagans. There certainly are some interesting similarities however like always moore and crew and making a bold statement though out the series. Making the, more or less, 'good guys' poly and the, more or less, bad guys the 'one true god' types. Implying to me hes taking a jab as all the negative and destructive things our mono/xian religion has done to our world and for every good it brings at least 1 ill. The wars and millions upon millions killed in our history over 'god', the suppression of truth, speech and science and so on. The parallels are indeed stark and telling IMO. This is why moore is the bomb, he writes current moral views into BSG and many folks I don't think even realize it. As you imply it's not like the polys are that good either.. But it's interesting the parallels he draws, I keep think about the Old Testament and the Exodus - the nebula that kills the Cylons serving the same purpose as Moses dividing the Red Sea so they could pass. And Cavil playing the role of Kain. There are more, but I can't wrap my head around them at this time. Another thing is that the Humans names and callsigns are mostly Greek and the Cylons are mostly Hebrew/Latin/Christian.. Like John, Daniel, Samuel, Simon, Sharon and Aaron.. With notible exceptions being Leoban, D'anna and most of the Final Five. hhmmm that's a excellent point I never noticed before about the names. Do you think moore had all these details and allegories figured out at the start or do you think hes been improving as the scripts for this season (and others) progressed? While I was not a huge B5 fan (I like it just not a uber fan; casual fan you could say) I have a lot of respect for the writer. He had the entire core plot all written, figured out from the start and simply spoon feed the audience bits as the seasons progressed until the main story finished. Think moore took a similar route?
  18. Sounds interesting however unless you post your notes, details while we could make suggestions it is somewhat shooting in the dark. I mean if you just want ideas with just this premise thats fine but if you have worked 6 months on this there is a lot of background and details in this setting we'd really need to know before we can make informed suggestions. My 2 coppers
  19. I'd bet Rhomal's life on it. > Don't wagers need actual value? > Wow, quite the persecution complex you got going there, Rhomal. I know silly me, I must be paranoid or something thinking folks are taking shots at me for the simply fact that disagree and too immature to express such. My bad... It isn't. It's because you present your disagreements in self-righteous, judgmental ways with a condescending tone. You may think you express yourself maturely, but you don't. Couple that with your latest "woe is me" type stuff, and you're just asking for it. The funny thing is you try to rationalize your superiority, by continuing to act immature about it. Treat people like they're inferior to you, and they'll respond in kind. Especially over the internet. Personally I feel as though the vast majority of ire slung your way is justified. Other stuff, like Maria's comments, are probably more joking, but you still seem sensitive to that. We all sling mud. The fact that you try to cast yourself off as being above it and better than it is what makes you a target. Especially since by bringing light to it, and making sure everyone else knows you're the victim by reminding people that you're a target, ensures that you're right at the same level as the rest of us. You take the same shots at people for disagreeing, even if cognitive dissonance prevents you from realizing it. Cheers! And this reply isn't self-righteous? If you are going to throw stones in a glass house... I am not sure where you get this 'woe with me' crap. Really... clearly you didn't read when I said I couldn't care less about what some strangers think of me on the net. Which is what you are to me and everyone is to everyone else, unless of course you know the person irl. If I did in some way give off that vibe that was certainly not my intent. I think you are mistaken my pointing out hypocrisy or the like for trying to play some kind of victim. Perhaps that's what is different between you and I, I don't take this too seriously, its the internet it is what it is no more or less, after I leave this page it does not cross my mind again. But for someone like yourself apparently who feels the need to get on his soap box and wag a finger acting like some over bearing parent. What you are failing to grasp is I AM opinionated, judgmental and can be condescending to those I feel are blinded by their own ignorance. Never disputed otherwise and I make no apologizes for that. Typical Leo I am. Not stating I handle it the best way, in fact I should work on my delivery at times, but being forthright and no one has to wonder where I stand. Do I consider myself better then SOME here. After pondering some of the replies which to me are done by ignorant teenagers yes, I am. At least I admit it and the confidence to say so. If I come off that way however, my bad. I prob should work on that and tone that aspect down even if I believe it. Will that comment make me any new 'friends' here? Doubtful, but this isn't the medium to make new ever lasting friends anyways. This is the place to converse, debate with like minded folks. Nothing more or less. If you make some acquaintances along the way great, if not no loss no foul. Perhaps I am simply overly jaded for being online since the early 80s and my emotional disconnect with the online world has grown too large. *shrugs* On a side note, Maria was not the main focus of the quote/point I was making.
  20. Only because they could have been sued for libel several times over. Like thats a shocking development from Fox Noise.. ermm.. 'news'.. anything not bible thumping deep right wing equate to them evil or the terrorists are going to crawl out from under your bed and kill us!!!!!!111 And why should little things like 'facts' get in the way of reporting 'news'? LOL Why Olbermann is the bomb.
  21. I'd bet Rhomal's life on it. > Don't wagers need actual value? > Wow, quite the persecution complex you got going there, Rhomal. I know silly me, I must be paranoid or something thinking folks are taking shots at me for the simply fact that disagree and too immature to express such. My bad...
  22. That it gets noticed by a wing nut republican/conservative group that wants to yell murder or if it does it will get toned down? Two very different variables.
  23. Like I said all it will take is one bible thumping conservative lets turn the country to the xian version of iran parent group or EA exec and we'll then see. If no such incident happens and it flys under such folks radar sure, prob be more or less as is. However if it does not is where I say 2:1 odds it gets toned down. As I said, time will tell.
