  1. I also hope the shield bug gets fixed soon too, the followers removing their 2 handed weapon for a shield/fist combo is really annoying.
  2. Few people know this, but breat milk is the method by which original sin is transfered from one generation to another. Nipples may appear to be sweet, innocent nibbly bits, but really they're the lactiferous ducts of Lucifer himself. Since satan is just a fictional character created by the church to instill control over its members (fear is a wonderful way to instill compliance.. look at what bush did after the sept attacks for another example) I will still happily suck away
  3. > Regarding open source, it matters to me, because even if I don't have the knowledge to alter anything, there is plenty of people out there worldwide who do and thus contribute to the improvement of any open source project. From my experience with open source projects too many generals(egos) not enough privates, your mileage may vary of course. > Concerning drivers, the point was that in Ubuntu you don't need to install any drivers, except for graphics card. And yes, I know that Windows Update has a driver section, but to access it, you have to first install network drivers, whereas in Ubuntu you have instant internet access as soon as the installation finishes and you reboot the machine. Well I am sure if MS updated their XP/vista cd with new drivers every few months they wouldn't have this problem either. Simply a lot easier to update a free .iso online with drivers then pull all the retail copies off a shelf to be replaced. Really a apples and oranges argument. > And concerning bundled software and double standards, I never accused MS of anything; their competitor's did. Saying the linux, mac zelots in general. You can thank them for why MS does not do what you requested.
  4. Not sure why you want to do something silly like install linux.. unless you don't care about game selection or quality software But that aside, if you have the extracted .iso on like a d: or such sure you can.
  5. Christian gamers rally against nipples, demon scrotum, in new Conan game. Exactly why I said what I did. Some of the bio fanboys want to jump on me for bio-bashing when I am simply pointing out the very true fact. Big publishers like EA care about PR and image. Bioware is far from independent, it was merged then bought. They are a subsidiary of a subsidiary now. All it takes is a group like this to shine a light on the more violent, sexual tones of this game and I PROMISE you EA will fold like a book and bioware won't be able to do a damn thing except say 'yes sir/ma'am and how high do you want me to jump again?' *shrugs* This is why obsidian has a far better chance to pull a mature content game then bioware at this point. They still have to answer to a publisher however they answer internally to no one and if they want to pitch a mature game to a publisher I am sure which ones they know to avoid and which ones will be more open minded about the subject matter. But back to the point, there's a long time between now and release. I wouldn't be surprised if it gets toned down and some of these more mature topics talked about now simply disappear and are never talked about/seen again (SOP when the dev is forced to pull content by the publisher).
  6. You piqued my curiosity, what are they? Not that I am agreeing or disagreeing just wondering your thoughts.

Some of that and some it was a mostly tossing some trivia out there since the topic came up. I personally think shes a average, at best actress (A side from BtVS I cringe at her roles/acting), and find it hard to believe she has gotten the parts she has based on ability. Her looks, quickie on the casting couch I feel more probable. But school sl*t or not I wouldn't turn her down if the encounter presented itself, heh. Side note, I have no reason to believe the roomie would make such up, in fact she generally spoke kindly of her but she did state she got around from what she saw/heard. Take it as you will.
  8. Adama has been popping pills a lot this half of the season, and how other crew are mentioning how poorly he looks as of late. (Great acting by eddie as always) I don't buy that, they have the merged Pegasus and Galactica crews running the ship. Which should, more or less even with losses since new caprica, have a mostly full compliment crew total. You can't tell me theres no one qualified in the combined engineering teams for someone to be a chief engineer. In fact SOMEONE has to be running the engineering dept... On the topic of new cap, while story wise I understand overruled military logic, I am sure if written properly adama would have taken pegasus to rescue them on new cap, not galactica. As from a pure military standpoint he would have wanted the most firepower to take on the 3 or 4 basestars. If so he wouldn't have this current issue of infrastructure starting to fail as galactica would have been sacrificed not pegasus. However, then it would be odd calling the show battlestar galactica if she ship no longer existed. lol Who was the head engineer supposed to be, there was the guy brought over from Pegasus who was killed in the mutiny, other than that it was always Tyrol who handled anything repair related. The episode where they were trapped in the airlock, investigating the explosives damage caused by Boomer, even the scene where the damage control team had to kill the workers trapped in the compromised bulkheads in the first episodes. I guess it's a question of practicality, a tv show can't have a character for every imagined major function on a Battlestar, it would grow the supporting cast too large. I don't think we ever seen the galactica chief engineer... EVER in 4 years so I am assuming the reason was logic was tossed out in favor of practicality as you said. But I do need to say I never understood why moore never introduced such a vital character of a ship. Think trek without scotty for example. Even if it was just a supporting role pulled out only when needed like capt kelly or racetrack.
  9. As a modern day pagan (wiccan, witch, pagan wizard.. whatever title you want to assign to me) I have been thinking the same thing... funny you bring it up. Xians at first were killed and treated like outcasts for the first century or two until the first xian emperor came to power and made it the state religion and the tables got turned on the pagans. There certainly are some interesting similarities however like always moore and crew and making a bold statement though out the series. Making the, more or less, 'good guys' poly and the, more or less, bad guys the 'one true god' types. Implying to me hes taking a jab as all the negative and destructive things our mono/xian religion has done to our world and for every good it brings at least 1 ill. The wars and millions upon millions killed in our history over 'god', the suppression of truth, speech and science and so on. The parallels are indeed stark and telling IMO. This is why moore is the bomb, he writes current moral views into BSG and many folks I don't think even realize it.
  10. Not like we already covered this topic or anything... That aside, back to issue #2 seems the trigger of getting past that encounter was to kill the giant shadow first. The first 2 times though it was never spawned hence the issue. So still a bug just not exactly what I thought.
  11. Or simply a crew member walking down the hall...

I dated a girl here in boston whos roommate went to highschool with eliza (eliza was a few grades higher) and knew her. She told me she was pretty cool to her and most other ppl but she had a rep of being the school s*ut. Apparently she made her way around the high school guys at the time.
  14. hhhmm could anything in my override dir be fragging with it you think?
  15. So the galactica is in rough shape it seems, I was wondering when they were going to get to the aspect of her being in continual combat for 4 years and the toll it would take on the ship without a refit or/and repair of a space dock facility. I felt they were starting to foreshadow this several eps ago as if you look at the external view of the ship say near the start of the season she was a bit battle scared but not to bad. Now however, the last 4-5 eps the external view of her is seen as almost a blackened, badly scared exterior. I figured when I noticed the striking difference they were heading to that direction. With that said it took boomer all this time to finally come around back to the colonial side (apparently)? I never bought her drinking into the cylon kool-aid. Never seems in character for her. Also I have lost track, hoping someone could fill me in, where/what happened to the 6 that baltar first had the relationship with. Is she still around? Last I recall seeing her is in the ep where she rezzes after she died in the blast protecting baltar and took her human name and shook up the cylon way of thinking with the other models. Was that the 6 baltar was in bed with during the coup? And now it seems clear adama is the 'dying leader' the scrolls talked about not laura. Very interesting to say the least but they still seem without a clue where they are going with earth fragged. Not sure where adama is supposed to lead them as he does not even seem to know. Plus with tyrol saying the ship shouldn't jump until the repairs are done that certainly limits its ability to go places. On a final note, while I buy the deck chief job as also in charge of damage control as well I find it hard to swallow its his job to repair the ship on this level as they showed this past ep. Wouldn't that go to the chief engineer? I mean this isn't battle damage (exactly) this seems to me to fall under something the chief engineer would be involved with. Wouldn't the engineer have far better structural knowledge of the ship then the damage control crew/NCO?
  16. a. Skymirror quest is fragged, after you cast the proper spell on the trees and click on them again you get a totally blank dialog box and stuck in such. b. fighting black garius at the keep, both the cleric and ammon when I command to read his true name it aborts with the message it only works on 'invulnerable reavers'. Which is what he is.. heh.. if anyone knows a console command to get around this that would be helpful, thanks!
  17. > Actually you did quite the opposite. In your opinion > I mean what...3 titles? One of them you couldn't even be bothered to look up because it's too inconvenient for you? I guess you'd just rather other people validate your claims for you. Luckily for you Gorth was there. I knew this was coming, If I named 4 titles someone would have wanted 5.. if I named 5, they would have wanted 10.. etc.. I was asked to prove my point with games, I did. End of story. Couldn't care less if it meets to your unreachable standards. > And then you play the victim at the end of your post, following it up with commentary about the predictable kids? Because some of the replies are so mature, right? Just making a obvious observation. Sorry if the pill is bitter. And I am far from the victim, I simply couldn't care less what some strangers, especially kids on daddys PC, think of me simply because they disagree with my view and can't express themselves otherwise. That was the point I was trying to make.
  18. Whats wrong with the nwn2 engine currently? Still looks damn good and performs well. Do you honestly believe that? I mean seriously, Badger is a crappy engine. I wouldn't say it if I didn't mean it. NWN2 performs quite nice, playing though the OC again in fact currently then MotB.
  19. That sounds like "Giants - Citizen Kabuto" I remember people saying nice things about the game itself at the time. Also some controversy about censorship. Great call, thats the one. Indeed breast-gate caused some serious flaming on the interplay forums about that from what I remember. Some fan did release a patch to restore the nudity however, but as you implied it was the principal.
  20. nudity <> p0rn Also bioware is a EA water boy now. I will be surprised if more conservative views from on top do not get involved. As for other titles, I am not going to waste my time finding the specific title name but there was a interplay fantasy game where the main avatar was a topless female. Shown in many preview screens shots. On release got covered up. Also I hear there were plans for more visual sexuality in bloodlines that got nixed by the publisher. And then theres AoC which I named before... I am sure if I wanted to spend time refreshing my memory I could pull up more. I know.. I know... I took the wind out of your sails I was able to name some titles so rather then dispute my point go back to rhomal bashing. *shrug* Predictable kids.
  21. I am actually looking at history, you know how many games in the previews showed nudity to some degree to in the end back peddled on release? Of course if you knew these things then you'd understand my skepticism. Hells even AoC is toning down/covering the women up.. which is totally screwed up but that's another topic. Oh that's right this is bioware they can do no wrong in your world and everything they say or imply is going to be in release will be...
  22. It's called we don't have the testicular fortitude to have nipples in the game so we need to make some contrite, non-logical explanation so we can have our cake (try to show sexuality because it sells) and eat it too (but not too much because we don't want any big bad parent association after us). Just for you. Also, Mary Kerby is female. Also, I've often wondered why testicales are used as a metaphor for being 'tough.' Aren't they low on the pain threshold meter? 2:1 odds they get covered up before release. It's the more tactful way to say the phrase 'they have no balls'

  24. > Clearly i didnt. And you feel qualified to make a assessment, ok then. > Ive gone and read wiki article about it. At first i thought they did it at least somewhat smartly when they mentioned that after magic came back humans changed into other races intentionally... or so it seemed in the first line explaining it. But then down in explanation of races it states that humans started having elf, orc, troll and whatnot babies - just because. I see magic is used there as an excuse for stupidity of unimaginable level. There is 'stupidity', or closer to ignorance, here in this thread but not with SR. If you did a little more research then one wiki article you would see when FASA put out SR it predates their D&D type setting Earthdawn yet in the game world they were linked. The concept was many of the mythical creatures over evolution took on more mundane forms as magic waned in the world and that aspect of their dna went into hibernation per se. Until 2012 or so when magic then re-awoke and came back to the world. That set off a chain reaction the sparked all the latent dna and hence why 10% of the worlds population 'goblinized' into elf, dwarf, ork or trolls. (and with other expansions other type pf mythical creatures like minotaurs). As to why some families of one race had another races children, when you are dealing with dna it can happen. Whos to say a few eons ago in that bloodline a elf didn't mate with someone or the like. I really don't see the the failed logic here. > Im sure it provided excellent gameplay and whatever but having such a silly lore is impossible for me to tolerate due to my Tolkien origins. Oh please like he never 'borrowed' anything from other sources. Get off the JRR elitist bus. If that's your stance you must HATE the forgotten realms setting. It is nothing but ripoff after ripoff from a handful of sources with very little originality.
