  1. The crux of the matter.
  2. When did you become a part of the Borg collective? Remind us what happened to the pilots who shot up the civilians in Baghdad (the case Manning blew)? In other words, when the whistle was already blown and when it was time for the system to take action.
  3. Better games, how? Its slim pickings for both at the moment, we just don't know enough to say one way or the other.
  4. I don't think so, my PC blasts through SC2 on max settings. SC2 has a very low recommended configuration.
  5. I think they nabbed him already. He revealed his location, how hard would it have been to mobilize assets to follow him the minute he checked out of the hotel.
  6. I'm somewhat skeptical as to the multiplayer longevity of CoH 2 mainly because of its high system requirements. Games hoping to hit it big in this regard have to be a bit more... democratic (Starcraft 2, WoW, DotA2, Counter Strike etc. etc.) My poor machine can run CoH on high, but can't manage CoH2 on minimum ... and yet it looks far worse on minimum than CoH on high. In fact, its so ugly on minimum as to be unplayable, even with a decent frame rate.
  7. Its a question of whether you trust the system to act in a responsible way or not. If you don't trust it, why go through the proper channels? Snowden wasn't just in the system, he was the system and he had no faith that it was going to act in every one's best interest. He explicitly says so himself. That in itself is more damaging than anything he could possibly release. We could declare him stupid, uninformed or mad - but it would have been attempted at this point... if there were any grounds for it.
  8. Its a good that there are people in the US like Manning and Snowden that are brave enough to put their conscience first and act.
  9. Wikileaks made public several very damaging and embarrassing opinions of USA diplomats that were based throughout the world in various countries. Its wasn't information that criminals could have used but it could, and did in some cases, cause damage to the integrity of the USA and its allies as this was information that was discussed in private. For example the king of Saudi Arabia said to the Americans " You need to cut the head off the snake" in relation to Iran and how America needs to deal with Iran enriching Uranium and there growing militancy. Despite the fact that most Sunni dominated countries in Middle East would love to have Iran subdued through a USA military attack this is not the type of thing you say publicly as it raises tension in the region between various countries. This is the type of confidential information that was exposed through Wikileaks Your inverse logic is perverse - If they weren't plotting in secret and making embarrassing opinions there would been no embarrassment, would there? We're all aware that these things are done, but you can't seriously complain when people see you with your hand in the cookie jar can you? The bastards, they actually thought to look!
  10. *sigh* The old: "if its bad and you can imagine it, then someone somewhere is doing it" has never been more true. The older I get the more things that were previously discarded and mocked as conspiracy theories turned out to be true.
  11. True, no arguments there.
  12. Big N's policy of not rushing their 1st party titles and only releasing them when they meet their stringent standards is definitely a hindrance sometimes. That was partly the reason the 3DS launched without a single killer title and it was basically repeated with the Wii U. I do admire the policy, though, as their track record of 1st party titles is impeccable. Yes but there are very few of them altogether. The core titles I mean, there is plenty of shovelware that follows them. Certainly not enough to justify buying the console.
  13. I actually agree with you re Morrigan, never found the character particularly exciting. Of course, at this stage there are few elements in DAO that do excite me, so... So you're going to buy only three copies?
  14. Hah. ... That's low even for them. I wonder how many full games will it be possible to buy for the full roster of characters.
  15. Has anyone seen the gameplay trailer for Bungie's "Destiny"? Looks very much like Borderlands only with better visual design. I don't know what to think about it really, it was the visual design that caught my attention in the first place but on the other hand I don't want to play a grindy MMO shooter. I'm hoping its more than that. And for a PC version of course.
  16. The WiiU has already dropped in price. If it gets at least a dozen or two decent games a few years from now, and drops more in price (to a realistic 200$ or so) - its going to be very much worth it. Currently, however, its not. I really expected Nintendo use the year before the PS4 and XB launch to take the lead. They had the opportunity, but it just didn't happen. And now Sony has trampled all over them with the PS4 pricing. The only 2 things the WiiU had going for it were the reduced price and Nintendo exclusives. The former has evaporated, the latter are nowhere to be seen.
  17. Not that hard to be best when you're the sole contender. Quick rundown: +art design +some of the characters +bug free, stable -poor gameplay compared to dedicated action games, a button masher on all but the hardest difficulty -no real way to customize characters -linear -typical Bioware stock characters, storyline progression -no real lasting or replay value Really similar to KOTOR but I found KOTOR overall more enjoyable to play.
  18. I regretted I did. Consider yourself warned. Why are they charging 10$ for it? Its a bargain bin game here - I bought it for 5$ tops.
  19. There's certainly more to look forward to now than there has been in years. I'm still waiting to eat that kickstarter pudding though.
  20. Yeah my thoughts exactly. I feel that the Witcher 3 has more potential though, because BW doesn't experiment enough, or at all. Although I generally lost interest in the Witcher series after the first one. I loved it because it was rough around the edges, unabashedly rude and it managed to make me laugh - unlike the McDragon burger "build according to checklist" experience . The second Witcher already looked like a commercialized, Hollywood type experience, I remember rolling my eyes at the soppy romantic scenes in some pool or other. I never played it so the new one will have to go out of its way to convince me that its what I think a Witcher game should be and not trying to be Mass Effect. Drowsy just for record are there any games that have been released in the last 3 years that you have really enjoyed and would recommend? I can't even remember what has been released in the last 3 years so I suppose that's an answer in itself. I did derive some enjoyment from games like Deus Ex HR, the Wings of Liberty campaign, XCOM, Fallout: New Vegas, ME2 but none of that is an unforgettable experience - because they fell flat at some point (most of the time, the ending). When I think of the games I truly enjoyed, the most recent two that pop into my mind are the original Witcher and Mirror's Edge and a few point and click adventures.
  21. Funny how the teenage me would have gushed over the possibilities shown by the W3 trailer. But now that its all out of my head and a part of the game, suddenly there's no more room for imagination and I'm not nearly as enthralled as I should be. The Infinity engine and other isometric games seem to offer a better balance between what you can see and what you should imagine. Itn the same way, when watching Starcraft (one or two, it doesn't matter) I imagine myself what ground combat would be like in a particular battle. It draws me into the universe. Yet all the shooters trying to replicate similar scenarios leave me cold. I can't even play them. I watch Geralt ride a horse in that scene and the only thing I can keep thinking is how Shadow of the Colossus did the same thing but felt infinitely more magical with its great vistas and subtle lighting.
  22. Yes, but the problem is the way they use it.
  23. RAM is dirt cheap. I guess you were comparing with XB. Cheap? Do tell where i can buy DDR5 RAM? Oh please, as though the next DDR number is the second coming. Who cares? It won't be too long before whatever the next gen of RAM is called sells for 15$ a pop. And you're not likely to need 8GB of it anytime soon.
  24. Poland blows everyone out of the water when it comes to things Witcher! I'm surprised a movie andor TV series was never made... (FTR, if Poland were to have made a Witcher movie or TV series I'd bet it would have been better than Diplomatic Immunity or Melody Rules) A TV series exists. Now forget I told you that.
