  1. Still no news from Relic. Since its not likely to be Homeworld 3 here's me hoping for an eastern front Company of Heroes 2.
  2. I still haven't heard from the courier service that was supposed to bring Starcraft 2 around yesterday , and I really won't put up with that, so I cancelled my order. Of course the loss is on the web shop's part but its their fault for using an undependable service to deliver their goods. That was probably the last copy of SC2 in the city so I'll just have to wait until a new shipment arrives, which will be god knows when. Ordering from outside of Serbia is out of the question as customs will rip me off for at least 30% of the original price. ****!
  3. Depends on who you are, I joined in beta and saw the stuff myself, but wasn't interested to follow it on the forums prior to the beta, so I can't really answer that question.
  4. True but Starcraft 2 did actually bring many necessary improvements to a very old game, and it has yet to be seen what Diablo 3 will bring to what's essentially a very stale genre. Oh? I'm all ears. 1. flexible unit selection 2. matchmaking (and everything else available at battle.net) 3. improved use of terrain 4. even more diversification among races 5. the spectating system that makes it easier to learn new tactics 6. improved unit AI And that's just off the top of my head.
  5. Its stale because isometric action role playing games haven't changed a single thing since Diablo 2 was released, except backdrops and superficial, cosmetic differences. Maybe some people are happy with this, I dunno. I consider them obsolete in terms of gameplay, like adventure games (which can at least vary the stories and challenges). There were plenty of great RTS games since Starcraft just none among those that chose to clone its three race approach. Age of Empires 2, Homeworld, Dawn of War etc.
  6. He's nailed the aesthetics (not that hard considering he partly invented them), but the CGI is looking very thin and dated. Fake? Ah indeed, I recognize the scene with Fassbinder from the new X-Men. Dunno where they scrapped the rest from.
  7. Its a sure sign of desperation when they're making a prequel to a remake of a trashy 50s flick.

  9. That has a sort of sense, but cannibalizing their other titles in an entirely different genre is hilarious. Or would be if it failed spectacularly. Since its going to sell in droves I find that equal parts depressing and awesome. Depressing because no one is going to point out that they're varying at most a dozen ideas for the last decade, and awesome because it takes mad skillz to do that over and over again and still sell games by the millon. Diablo 3 so far looks, and most likely will be essentially a remake of Diablo 2. It will even share its flaw of having graphics half a decade behind the times (seriously, Titan's Quest looks better or at least the same).
  10. Dude, they copy/pasted a skill from another one of their games, that's not unoriginal, that's plain lazy. That's the kind of laziness only Blizzard will not be slammed for.
  11. Yeah like the Demon Hunter's Fan of Knives. Good thing that Warden hero from WCIII didn't have that same ability. You know the one that looks the same, functions the same, has the same name...
  12. Funny, I find the idea of doing that all over again incredibly boring.
  13. It reminds me of Michelangelo from Teenage mutant ninja turtles and his pizzas with chocolate topping.
  14. The lack of an open beta suggests they might be rushing... or very confident Or trying to limit player exposure to the game to forestall any negative impressions before the game gets released.
  15. I somehow don't think EA suits would be pleased with that outcome considering how they tend to kill off servers and multiplayer support on games that don't meet their expectations.
  16. As for classes I'm interested in the Witchdoctor and not much else, the rest I've sort of seen before in various games.
  17. With the release of TOR coming in a few months, whats the general tone of the speculation/leaks: will it bomb? Bomb as in not keep subscribers, I think we can all agree that it will sell well at first.
  18. I have. Its lack of a tutorial and a decent introduction to the overall mechanics was a killer. I remember getting stuck at some point in the beginning with no help from the game as to how to proceed so I dropped it after a few days. The gist of it is that it didn't draw me enough to put some real effort into it. Too many sliders and opaque upgrades whose function is not explained well enough, and not enough ships. But I did get an impression that the game was unfairly ignored by the press and gamers in general.
  19. Homeworld's art direction is several light speeds ahead of this, dunno what you're talking about. The problem was the sequel sucked in most other respects.
  20. Its no use arguing over whose is bigger, its all in how you use it.
  21. I'll kill you for the subtitle Purkake. Played Nexus for a short while. Wasn't a bad game at all.
