  1. Why not, Karzai's government and the US aren't hostile to one another. The US should definitely cut Karzai's throat before leaving, when they do. How can they be hostile to their own puppet government?
  2. My gf is playing Book of Unwritten Tales while I watch. It seems like a very good P&C adventure. The so called "dead" genre might be one of the strongest ones on the PC at the moment, there are so many adventures coming out...
  3. Exactly how I feel. Its not that I didn't enjoy playing the rest of their games, its just that they were like most other games - play, uninstall, forget. Not their fault you have unrealistic expectations. It is and it isn't and that's the most diplomatic reply you're going to get. Some other developers did manage to meet them (my expectations) later, so its not all about my "impossibly" high standards.
  4. Bah, most of the stuff they say is just to define a position different from other candidates, to hook a certain type of voter in. The actual likelihood of most of that stuff getting implemented is almost non existent.

  6. You have to love these people. At this point I'd even be happy with just the game combined with the most popular mods and an easy way to toggle others. Larger dialogue font and dependable high resolution support + cleaning out the last few bugs. I think the backgrounds are mostly fine, but the character sprites could be improved, because they tend to look very similar at high resolutions (and hard to click on because they're so small). A couple of interface improvements, to make it smaller and show more of the game world, while retaining the pretty "book" like appearance - obviously implementing BGII's interface in BGI. Also some inventory sorting improvements especially regarding stackable stuff, projectile weapons in particular. Maybe something should be done with the footstep sounds. They're necessary but maybe they should be a bit quieter. Walking speed should be a bit quicker. The necessity of reaching the edge of the screen for travel in every location could be changed in some areas to make the game world more accessible. But really there's very little to "improve" in these games, most of the tedious stuff, or what people call the tedious stuff has become second nature to me over the years.
  7. Bah! All of us can give it one last spin for old time's sake. Its not like there'll be another game like it, ever. OOoooh I'm already drunk on nostalgia.
  8. Its time for this new generation of QTE gamers to learn what a real RPG is. My correspondence with Overhaul games: You can skip my fanboy slobbering for the little surprise in Cameron's reply
  9. Neither do I. But really, if it sucks we can just ignore its existence. I'm mildly optimistic. But I really don't have any idea what they're going to do. Its not going to be remade in 3D I think, and what exactly can be done with the Infinity engine at this point is a mystery to me. But it is nice to see how many people still appreciate the game and how far they're going to go. Imagine a hi-res 2D remake of all three games rolled into one, with today's technology. Will the world survive so much awesome?
  10. You know it did take like 5 cuts to get Blade Runner right.
  11. I find your lack of faith disturbing... Bu it is all as I have foretold.
  12. Twilight Zone and... that's about it. Then again, TV shows are hardly ever a cerebral activity. Shows like The Wire are a recent phenomena. I agree, The Wire is something else entirely.
  13. It came pre installed. Microsoft is pushing Win7 so there are fewer and fewer netbooks with XP. It has a ton of ram by the way.
  14. But that's all... one exact same video. Did they really stoop so low? Also, someone please tell me this didn't happen:
  15. I'd really like Ron Paul to win but he simply doesn't stand a chance. If the party threw its weight behind him (which another thing that's not going to happen) I guestimate that he'd beat Obama easy.
  16. 723k This one will be in the bag by this time tomorrow.
  17. How is it even legal for your property to be surveyed without your consent/knowledge?
  18. Quite right. Its because they erased from their political perception any and all ideologies that were such a draw for Europeans (even for the very flexible British) and distilled all interaction down to pure pragmatism, completely freed from moral, or other constraints. Ideology exists of course, but none of the real decision makers are going to be swayed by it. Very much like the Romans.
  19. We haven't actually heard your opinion on the game (or its been buried somewhere while ago)?
  20. I'm interested to know what the supposed advantages of Win 7 over XP are other than new Direct X support. I have two netbooks with similar hardware, one with W7 the other with XP and the W7 one crawls like a beaten dog all the while not having a single function that I could point to its advantage.
  21. Yes, NATO is obsolete, it's function is not needed anymore since the collapse of the Soviet Union. Brits and Frenchies are gonna jump as high as their US masters demand, 'cause that's what they are - little lapdogs. Who doesn't jump, except Putin's Russia (unlike those traitorous cretins Yeltsin and Gorbachev) and China?
  22. Actually I'm hoping Wasteland 2 is going to be a somewhat different take on the whole post apocalyptic thing, I could never really get into the Fallout universe.
