Yeah, good luck with that, India. That historian is a funny guy, though. “Those involved in this ludicrous case should recognise that the British Crown Jewels is precisely the right place for the Koh-i-Noor diamond to reside, in grateful recognition for over three centuries of British involvement in India, which led to the modernisation, development, protection, agrarian advance, linguistic unification and ultimately the democratisation of the sub-continent.” Yeah, we know exactly how you feel, Britain! For some reason Indonesia hasn't ever thanked us for our role in uniting them and bringing them into modernity either. So very, very ungrateful*. * Please apply sarcasm here.

Personality type: axe wielding psychopath. No, not really. But it would be rather amusing if it was an option. What I got was some ego stroking prattle about how I am such a precious little snowflake, and even my flaws were really signs of what a good person I am - and that, of course, they could tell me more, if only I would become a premium member.

You have my full support in this.

Hope you don't take this the wrong way, but from the sounds of it, you're facing some issues you probably won't be able to tackle all alone. You should reach out for help from somewhere, and from the sounds of it it's not going to come from friends and family (but then, I might be reading you wrong). Personally, I'd look into really getting some professional help, at the very least in the area of finance.

Kentucky County Clerk still Refuses to issue Gay Marriage License
JadedWolf replied to BruceVC's topic in Way Off-Topic
If it's fair that this woman can reject doing this, I think it should be equally fair for people to be able to say "Can I be helped by someone else, please? I don't want to be helped by religious nutjobs." In fact, make two separate queues. One for religious nutjobs, and one for enlightened, reasonable people. -
That's an offensive stereotype. Not all Germans are efficient.

Hmm, almost. It's not entirely correct though. No one in the picture is taking a selfie.

And if you are too lazy for that, there's an app. And if you install that app, it actually installs malware, apparently. https://www.reddit.com/r/privacy/comments/3fvfvd/donotspy10_new_app_makes_it_easier_for_windows_10/

Just be sure to turn this off once you've installed Windows 10. http://www.theregister.co.uk/2015/06/30/windows_10_wi_fi_sense/ http://uk.businessinsider.com/how-to-turn-off-windows-10-wi-fi-sense-2015-7?r=US&IR=T

I learned today that there's a town in Colorado called "Nederland" (Netherlands). I came to know this through this adorable video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5gXqmwTSa0s I also learned that this small town has a special festivity. The Frozen Dead Guy Days. "Celebrating its 14th year in 2015, Nederland, Colorado’s Frozen Dead Guy Days is known as one of the most unique and quirky festivals in the country and continues to be a world-renowned spectacle. The home-grown frosty fest pays homage to Bredo Morstol who is frozen in a state of suspended animation and housed in a Tuff Shed on dry ice high above Nederland. Thousands of adventurous, life enthusiasts come annually to participate in and view the events along with local, national and international media and entertainment." http://frozendeadguydays.org/ Apparently they are celebrating the frozen corpse of a Norwegian guy who was brought there by his family who had hoped to build a cryogenic facility for him. One of the things they do for fun during these days is... coffin racing.

Her last thoughts: "I should probably have invested in better armour".

I meant literally when all other options have been exhausted. I'll eat grass and bark and dig worms out of the ground to eat before I eat human, but once there is absolutely nothing else and it's down to chomp on human or die of starvation, I would imagine that survival instinct would override any and all moral aversion I have toward cannibalism. The problem is that the other guy might not have such well developed morals and might skip eating grass and bark entirely, patiently waiting until eventually you start feeling ill and weak from eating things that don't go well with your digestive system. And then, it's fava beans and chianti time.

Pigs are actually quite intelligent, according to some studies. http://modernfarmer.com/2014/03/pigheaded-smart-swine/ I fully expect you to stop eating bacon now. Come on, put your money where your mouth is!
