  1. it was an editing error. i was trying to quote your comment about lesbianism being "acceptable" over male homesexuality which is not. just cut the wrong bit (i hate carrying embedded quotes, some software packages don't do it). my point is that part of the reason they are more socially accepted is, maybe, due to their perceived lifestyle difference. i don't disagree lesbians are more socially accepted. dunno... one thing, however, is that men typically only get off on the "hawt" lesbians. those are generally only exist in porn. your typical run of the mill lesbian is going to be just like any other typical run of the mill human... run of the mill looks and not someone to build elaborate fantasies around. taks
  2. but they don't. at least, not sex. no. which isn't about sex. taks
  3. plato. taks
  4. no, not true. their desire for sex is purely for procreation. there are rare cases, however, of animals that only prefer like-sexed partners. taks
  5. no, not at all. your thought starts out by assuming only homosexuals have "the gene". how then, were they born in the first place? in other words, if it is a gene problem (mutation, whatever), it obviously exists in heterosexuals recessively, and appears without homosexuals needing to reproduce. i'm not saying it is a result of a gene, btw. the fact that homosexuality does show up in the animal kingdom from time to time suggests that genes may at least be a factor, however. taks
  6. hehe... btw, it should be noted that o'reilly's column is about ann's comments today. he thinks she shouldn't use the vitriol if she really wants people to believe her arguments. i.e. insulting people isn't a very good debate tactic, it only serves to sell books. she's probably right that far-left ideologists seize upon those people that buck the trend in their (the ideologists) favor, but her comment that they're revelling in their (the wives) husbands' deaths is certainly over the top. taks
  7. uh, i'm curious why so many people have a hard time with the phrase news analyst. like it or not, o'reilly's job is to analyze news and provide opinions. he's supposed to be ignorant, whether you like it or not. taks
  8. no kidding. that's why the word "perceived" is in there. alanschu and i were discussing how society views homsexual females vs. homosexual males. the stereotypes ARE how gays are perceived, right or wrong. taks
  9. that's part of the perceived lifestyle difference. lesbians don't come across as "flamers" or whatever. they aren't seen as the wild partiers always looking for a different partner each night of the week. that, and guys get off on the possibility of two chicks getting it on. right or not, tis true. taks
  10. gee, and if you listen to some folks it's only FOX that is biased. " read their report on his death here. good riddance. i'm tired of hearing about him. of course, we'll have to go weeks hearing about his death... oh well. taks
  11. she's a troll yet you say things like this? what a joke. just because fox doesn't fit into your nifty cool ideology doesn't make them any worse (or better) than any other news organization. taks
  12. perhaps due to the perceived lifestyle differences? i'm sure there's a study or two around that show the comparitive lengths of relationships between men-women, women-women and men-men. taks
  13. there's no option for what i believe. in particular, i think the government should get out of the marriage business. in the end, it is social engineering, i.e. rewarding behavior with "perks" at the expense of non-participating taxpayers. if people live together, and can claim dependence upon one-another, then their income should be treated as such legally (combined) unless they choose otherwise (separate). other than that, every other benefit to marriage is related to things there are already laws/procedures to handle, such as a WILL. as for adoption, i'm mixed. if you listen to bill o'reilly he says "let 'em adopt kids that would not otherwise find a home" which i think is a crock. either they are qualified or they aren't so the business of "you're a second class citizen so you only get second class children" is just wrong. i'll make up my mind one of these days. taks
  14. yeah, even hades acknowledges this. arguing on the internet is like running in the special olympics. even if you win, you're still a tard. taks
  15. if all the matter in the known universe was converted to pen and ink, there would not be enough to write this number down. taks
  16. here's a link to some of the best high IQ tests in the world. mr. cooijmans is even recognized by ronald hoeflin, originator of the MEGA society (one in a million IQ, about 172 depending upon the SD used), as one of the better test writers around... at least for the high end (most of his tests require in the mid 120s before you'll even be able to answer a single question beyond luck). taks
  17. which "he" are you referring to? taks
  18. i'm writing, too. however, my "works" are attempts at technical publication as well as a role as the draft editor for a soon-to-be ANSI standard. you are right, it is lonely, and MSWORD sucks donkey nuggets. fortunately, most of what i'm writing now is from my existing knowledge base. i.e. the "research" part is not that intensive. however, the dissertation is about to take up 10-20 hours a week of such research, particularly in areas which i have no prior experience. willpower is my only suggestion. wading through the endless background information is tedious, but can be gotten through simply by repeatedly telling yourself that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. just hope that the light isn't a train running in the other direction! good luck. taks
  19. which is why "illegal aliens" should be allowed to work in the states <{POST_SNAPBACK}> no, that's why there should be a mechanism for legal aliens. taks

  22. you don't have to step on their nest, all you have to do is get close enough that they can sense your presence (vibrations). they are extremely agressive and will come out and attack you just for standing near the nest. 3 feet is about all it takes. taks
  23. cheney and enron? wow, i didn't even realize cheney was in office when the enron scheming began. it was that democrat guy i thought... what was his name... oh yeah, clinton. taks
