Handmaiden? 11extra characters 10 spots???????
Oerwinde replied to The Prophet's topic in Obsidian General
Actually there are 12 characters. You get Handmaiden if you're male, Disciple if you're female, Mira if you're lightside, Hanharr if you're darkside. And wrong forum. -
Is it? First of all, you have to assume that the rich are so generous that they will give No, everyone can afford to be charitous, and my beliefs demand that I be...recieving kindness form some one is so much more meaningful than getting a government food stamp in the mail... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Sure most people can afford it, but relying on private charity assumes people are. People are selfish. People are greedy. Relying on the selfless nature of human beings to help the poor and less fortunate won't achieve anything.

No one in modern society was taxed into poverty. Poverty is a result of low wages, not high taxes. When someone has to work 3 jobs just to keep his family above the poverty line, and corporations are reporting record profits, thats not taxes fault. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Actually, thats not true. Government greed has ended alot more governments in bloody revolt than greedy corporations. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Thats because if someone lead a bloody revolt in a corporation, even if it succeeded everyone involved would be thrown in prison, then whatever it was they fought for would go back to what it was before. Taxes don't cause poverty in my country, because if you're in poverty you're not required to pay taxes.

Yeah those damn liberals. If it wasn't for them you'd still have slavery! And no social security! Or Public schools! I mean, America is just better off without them. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> oh please!!! if those liberals hadnt come in and screwed up everything we might not have the problems we do today. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You do realize that if it weren't for Liberals you'd probably be a farmer trying to hide as much food as you could before your lord took it all for his feasts right? Liberal: Favoring proposals for reform, open to new ideas for progress, and tolerant of the ideas and behavior of others; broad-minded. Conservative: Favoring traditional views and values; tending to oppose change. I'm not saying everyone should be liberal, we need a balance otherwise there would be change just for the sake of change, but if everyone were conservative, we'd still be in the middle ages.

KoToR 3: Ideas and Suggestions

Not be advisable to change the character? The Exile is like almost level 30 at the end of KotOR2, thats just silly. And Revan is level 20, which is silly to start the game with. No explaination would allow either of them to start at level 1, so a new protagonist is required. IMO I'd like the new protagonist to be more of an Obi Wan type character. Meaning he's not the chosen one of the story, but is almost more important to the story than the "chosen one" -
Are you speaking of the burden on the NHS? Well, much as I see no reson for Joe Blow to pay for my unemployment, I see no reason why anyone but me should pay for my healthcare. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Health costs are the #1 cause of Bankruptcy in America. 80% of bankruptcies due to health costs are people with health insurance. Socialised health care IMO is the only way to go. It works pretty well in every country that has socialised health care. As for unemployment, the way Canada handles it is you pay into it on every paycheck, the government invests that money so you gain interest for it as well, then if you happened to get laid off, or can't work due to injury(If you quit or are fired, you're inelligible) then you get a weekly income based on how much you paid into the unemployment fund. When you run out of money in the fund, you're **** out of luck. I think this is a much better way than trying to save money yourself, because 80%(number pulled out of ass) of people are incompetent when it comes to money, and thats not a good reason for them to be screwed over if they happen to get laid off. As for Narcotics, you can't win the fight against drugs. All that money going into prohibition of drugs should go into harm reduction instead, such as safe injection sites, needle exchange, and drug education. Marijuana on the other hand should just be legalized and taxed like tobacco is.

Also, having one padawan gives a lot more depth to the master/apprentice dynamic than training Bao-Dur, Handmaiden/Disciple, Atton, and Mira. I also kind of like the idea of having a Master/Apprentice team that joins you and perhaps having to take on that master's apprentice after his death, or even just the interractions between you and your padawan, and the other pair. -

Ahh rivalry jokes. We got one here in BC about Quebec. A guy from BC and a Quebecer are walking along the beach and they find a lamp. They rub it and a genie pops out at says Genie: "I will grant you each one wish" Quebecer: "A wish eh? Well I wish Quebec was surrounded by an inpenatrable wall 100 feet high and 20 feet thick!" Genie: "Done! What is your wish?" Guy from BC: "So that wall... 100 feet high?" Genie: "Yes." Guy from BC: "20 feet thick?" Genie: "Yes." Guy from BC: "Completely inpenatrable?" Genie: "Yes." Guy from BC: "Fill it with water."

Well, I liked K2 more than K1 so I would definitely.

A review at CHUD said it would have been awesome if Saladin and Jeremy Irons' character had been the leads. But other than those two, the movie was pretty bland.

Things I'd like: HK, T3, and The Ebon Hawk come back, but theres so much empty space in the Ebon Hawk, so I say you should recruit one or two optional non-playable NPCs. Maybe a smuggler or merchant or something that you could haul around as a passenger or something, who's inventory would change depending on what worlds you've visited and what point you are in the story. Also, the interior of the Ebon Hawk should change depending on what NPCs you have. Like when you get a new NPC, the area they would sleep would get some more personality. For example, since Handmaiden's quarters was the Cargo hold, maybe she would put down a cushion to sleep on, and maybe hang a couple sheets to brighten up her corner of the hold. Or with Bao-Dur, maybe he could have had tools and such around the garage section. I think it should be a new protagonist, since both Revan and the Exile are too high level for a new game. I think both should be major parts of the story, but not joinable NPCs or the PC. Either main NPCs or bosses. Alien races should be character creation options, and instead of selecting static heads, you should be able to create your character from scratch. The influence system needs to be fixed, so if you influence someone to dark side they start acting dark side. Also if you go the whole train-companions-to-be-jedi route, have conversation options after they've been trained. Have them seek your wisdom and such. My ideal protagonist would be a recently promoted Jedi Knight from the new academy, who has just been granted a padawan. Make the padawan a youngin who needs guidance and such. Choose from 3 or 4 padawans at the beginning, all who have different personalities. For example, one of them is very impressionable and takes your teachings to heart, one is headstrong and arrogant, one is extremely loyal to the order, etc. This would make for interesting interractions later if you decide to go darkside and your padawan disagrees with you. There should be two "chapters" of the game. The first part should take place in known space, IMO the story should revolve around your characters mission to locate Revan and the Exile, so the first part would be investigating where they went and how to get there. There should be 3 explorable worlds at this point. It would be as non-linear as the first two, only less explorable worlds. The 2nd part would be after discovering the general area where Revan and the Exile left to, this would open up 3 more explorable worlds in addition to the previous 3, and quests you complete and info you gather could open up new quests on the previous worlds. Party members I'd like to see would be Your Padawan HK-47 T3-M4 Another jedi and his padawan a Bothan plus around 6 more, but only 4 of which can join you in any one game. Single saber should be just as good as double. -
I hope the story for K3 is as good as K2 because I thought it was better than the first, just incomplete. If K3 is incomplete they're just not learning from their mistakes.

Kingdom Come was great. Probably the best mainline DC story I've read. I like Alex Ross but I put him in the same boat as Brian Hitch. Both are excellent, but their realistic style can get kinda boring after a while. Also, Adam Hughes is the master of drawing women.

Well..I don't like it anymore...I'd rather live in another city at least like :Timisoara Tho Canada seems nicer Yeah..I know...the same thing has happend here since 1989 Is that a certainty can't the ones in power still win? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well its not a certainty. The Conservatives are going to bring up a confidence vote when the federal budget comes up for a vote. The Liberals recently made an alliance with the NDP, but they need the support of all 3 independant MPs to get a tie, which would then be broken by the Speaker of the House, who is a Liberal and would likely vote in favor of the government. So far they have the support of 2 of the independants (former Liberals) but the 3rd is on the fence(Former Conservatve) and is apparently going to vote based on his constituents wishes. If the conservatives win then we go to an election, if not, we keep going with this government. Right now the Liberals and Conservatives are pretty much neck and neck at the polls, but the scandal the liberals are in are slowly eating away at their support. I just vote NDP because I believe in their policies. They'll never rise to power though.

Damn you, there'a always need for Paladins I wanna go to the UK or Canada...or somewhere else just not here <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Canada Rawks. Though you might want to wait a while before coming here. Chances are we'll have a Conservative government in the next election because Canadians don't know how to vote(most people here vote against who they want to lose rather than for who they want to win, even if it means putting someone worse into power), so you'll probably want to wait till the election after that when they get voted out for trying to make Canada more like the US when most people here want it to be more like Europe and less like the US.

Yeah, just looked him up, he does covers. I have a good deal of the sandman trades he did the covers for.

I found this comment odd. I found it hard to play Dark Side. Mostly because the darkside dialogue options suck. Its all thug dialogue and I didn't want to play as a thug. And if you don't want to play as a thug, then you get too many lightside points.

I'm a fan of Chris Bachalo, even though his men tend to all look similar. The Kuberts are good as well, and John Romita Jr is pretty sweet. Don Figueroa is the Transformers god. Oh, and back to the original poster: Super speed? What a wussy superpower. Probability Control all the way baby.

The Decepticons are all built with antigravity flight. They just jump and stay up. Autobots can't fly because they weren't built that way. In the episode that shows the start of the war the Decepticons are viewed with awe because they're the only ones who can fly. Then they blow **** up and people stop being impressed and fight back. The Stunticons are the Decepticon cars. Megatron built them because all the decepticon alt-modes were flight based except the Constructicons and they couldn't keep up with the Autobots on the road, and the autobots kept going into tunnels and such where the decepticons couldn't follow. In response Optimus Prime built the Aerialbots, the only autobots who can fly... except for Powerglide, and Cosmos, and Swoop, and Sideswipe in robot form with his jetpack. But Powerglide and Cosmos suck anyway.

Inkers don't get enough respect. The art in a comic can suck royal ass if the inker is no good.

Except the Stunticons

I wish people would watch the closing sequence in Saving Private Ryan - or even my all time favourite - the truck hijack in Raiders of the Lost Ark, to see action done right. In SPR there are sequences where the camera actually follows the character with no cuts for almost a whole minute - and guess what - it looks great and is incredibly visceral. The Shakey-cam/rapid cut technique I fear is probably the legacy of too many music video directors moving to film: actually constructing a scene is too much like hard work for them and they feel that rapid cuts somehow make it "more exciting" for the audience. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I just think of the end fight in Blade 2. They have that one good long shot of the two of them fighting from the side, and the rest is all quick cuts. Its so annoying.

Jade Empire. Its the only game for Xbox I want to play, and I want to play it badly, but not badly enough to buy an Xbox for one game. Maybe if the Xbox 2, or Xenon, or Xbox 360 or whatever has backwards compatability and a good RPG lineup I might get it then.
