  1. If Obsidian could get to the point where they could work on 3 games at a time on 3 year cycles that would be ideal. One AAA big publisher gig, one smaller publisher gig like Tyranny, and one self/crowd funded gig where they own the property. Maybe collaborate with inXile on a big self funded project where they could share the costs and talent.
  2. I think squirrels dug up a lot of my seeds. One of my pea plants sprouted, one corn, and my garlic. Planted 2 weeks ago, not sure if the holes were from the rain or squirrels. I produce enough for one or two meals a year, plus the peas are a great snack. Definitely better than what I get at the grocery store though.
  3. I laughed so hard at the top comment earlier "does she light up when you detect traps? "
  4. I think with the purchase of white wolf and all their successes they are looking to expand. I know they have shown an interest into expanding into mobile, which I doubt their current staff has a lot of interest or experience in developing for.
  5. Right from the beginning the comic companies should have fought this...its not hard They make the basic point that the opinions in the magazines have made there customer base uncomfortable and revenue is down What reasonable judge is going to dismiss this....think about it when there are real crimes all around...the judge will order them to remove it and apologize What happened with the Batgirl one was the creative team behind the book didn't like the cover, which was a homage to The Killing Joke, as DC was doing a series of Joker themed variant covers for Joker month, and The Killing Joke is the most famous interaction between Joker and Batgirl. There was an outcry of it showing Batgirl as a victim and that they would never show Batman in a compromising position on the cover of his own book, followed by like 20 examples of just that and the people providing the examples being blocked by the people who said there weren't any. The creative team then felt it didn't fit the tone and themes of the book. As it was a variant cover, of course it didn't, variants rarely reflect the content of the book. So the artist requested DC pull the cover, and they did. I'm pretty sure most people disagree with the decision, but it essentially wasn't DC that caved to the whiny crybabies, but the artists themselves, so the crybabies claimed the high ground. Marvel had the Spider-Woman artist contracted for several other covers but cancelled them after the outcry, but didn't pull the one that was released. You know what ...I suddenly thought of a solution for Spider Women She can just go naked if the issue is her costume? They made her pregnant and changed her costume to a jacket and pants.
  6. Running back and forth around the city was kinda bland, but the actual story content was good, and it picked up a lot when you get to Skellige.
  7. I know they made a big deal this year about what good shape they are in. CK2 and EU4 have been big successes, and have a very high DLC attachment rate (something like 60% of game owners buy the DLC), plus Cities Skylines and Pillars of Eternity did really well for them. They doubled down on QA for Paradox Development Studio which made EU4 and CK2 extremely polished games and allowed their reputation to turn around from the buggy messes their older stuff was. Hopefully that QA can work the same magic for Obsidian with Tyranny.

  9. I was playing AC Unity, but it didn't hold my interest like every other AC game did. Story wasn't that interesting and the side stuff cluttered up the map so much it was overwhelming. So I started up another playthrough of PoE to go through White March, but couldn't stay interested, played a Transvaal game of Vicky 2 then a CSA games, now playing Flanders in EU4. It needs a regenerate mp for the custom new world, because quitting and reloading the real world so you can generate a new one every time you get 4 islands and a desert for your new world is time consuming. They need to fix colonial regions and trade routes for custom new world too.
  10. How often does EA buy rival publishers? I know their track record for killing developers, but don't remember them buying out publishers. Paradox said the IPO will still leave the private owners with the controlling share, so shareholders shouldn't have too much leverage. Kinda like how WWE has sharehokders but Vince still controls everything
  11. There has been a lot of controversy in comic covers lately. That and the Batgirl one being the biggest examples. The sad thing is they are variant covers, which means they need to be specifically ordered and are usually just for collectors, so the general audience rarely sees them.
  12. Isn't spider man a black teenager now? There are both now. Miles Morales took over as Spider-Man in the Ultimate Universe after Peter Parker died defending his family from Green Goblin (he took a bullet for Captain America then fought injured). After Secret Wars the new Marvel universe was made up of bits and pieces of other universes, so teen Miles and Adult Peter ended up in the same world. So now Peter is kind of a mentor figure to Miles. Peter is now the millionaire owner of Parker Technologies and is a major player in the superhero world, while Miles is still street level.
  13. Watching World War Wednesday and Extraterrestrial Thursday Paradox streams and I am so psyched for both Stellaris and Hearts of Iron IV. Hopefully the IPO thats supposedly happening later this year doesn't change Paradox too much, because they are easily my favorite publisher.
  14. Marvel keeps killing it with the costumes. I just wish they could get Hawkeye's closer to his comic look.
  15. In Canada we get 2 weeks of paid vacation after a year working a job, 3 weeks after 5 years. How its paid for is we get a % of our wage paid out additionally into a separate total, which is released when we take vacation. Its separate so what we get paid during vacation doesn't contribute to our vacation pay. If we quit or are fired/laid off before taking our vacation, it is paid out in our last check. There are no government mandated sick days. The company I work for gives 8 hours a year in sick time. Since I work 10 hour shifts I get 4/5ths of a sick day per year. They used to offer 3 sick days a year but felt it was being abused. We also have I think 10 statutory holidays, in which we are paid for the day off, or if we have to work it we get paid time and a half plus a paid day off.
  16. Can you send me the link to that one? I am not familiar with that story?
  17. Both companies are jumping on board the diversity train, to varying degrees of success. DC has the rights to the Milestone characters so I don't know why they don't push them instead of making Wally West a black street kid. Marvel has definitely done better with their diversity stuff, with the exception of She Thor, who just makes no sense.
  18. I have a couple long boxes at my parent's house. Collected pretty heavily in my school years, but now with kids and such I can't afford $5 an issue.
  19. I'm enjoying Bjorn and Rollo's plotlines, but Ragnar turing into a drug addled mess is bothering me. The chinese character just comes off as trying to force diversity into the show as her presence makes no sense. They are doing some good buildup to the Great Heathen Army, giving Ubbe and Ivar some development and introducing Halfdan.
  20. Maybe will lower expectations. ME 3 was a really good 3rd person shooter.
  21. I wish Freedom Force had stuck to the plan of each new game being based on an age of comics. First being Golden Age, second Silver, 3rd the copper and beginning of the Dark Age.
  22. Batman v Superman, overall I enjoyed it, but they pulled another Man of Steel mistake having someone easily discover Superman's identity. Lex was terrible, the reason for them fighting was terrible, and the reason they stopped fighting was worse. It did feel like it needed another stand alone Superman movie, plus a Batman and a Wonder Woman movie before it. Superman is just such a shallow character in it, they obviously didn't care about him at all and it was all about Batman. Luckily Affleck dethroned Keaton as my favourite live action Batman. People are criticising him for killing people, but it wasn't really any more than previous Batmans did, and aside from the dream sequence it was all vehicular manslaughter. Wonder Woman was definitely the highlight of the finale. Hobo Barry Allen made me wary of the Flash movie though.
  23. I watched a video of Stellaris in action and it impressed me. Like a mix of EU4 and Master of Orion, but with the race creation you're unlikely to meet the same race twice. Definitely in my to buy list. Been watching a Hearts of Iron 4 video too, looks much simpler than HOI3, and more fun.
  24. Will they even use old savegame import or will you just choose at the begining what you did? I mean, i only remember 2 tough choices i made in the whole game. The one with the Axe unit guy and the choice at the end. The kid at the beginning can survive to the end if you do like 5 things right.
  25. I wouldn't mind having Di & Lady Crimson back. That would be two. If Gabrielle ever comes back that will be ten. What happened to Lady Crimson? She was one of the more prolific posters then bam, gone.
