I think if it has onboard sound, the drivers would be included with the basic motherboard drivers and wouldn't have stand alone audio drivers.

Finally have a price. for 500 bucks I'll get it just as a cheap blu-ray player. The games will be a bonus. I wonder if it will take normal hard drives. If so you could just get the 20 gig one, then buy an 80 gig hard drive for 50 bucks.

I thought it was kind of cool. I told my roommate about it and he was like "Yeah I know." And I'm thinking "Wow... he knew about it before they showed it for the first time. And he doesn't follow consoles" He so full of ....

Whoo! Its the nutbar!

the Gundam one looked neat.

That won't sell. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> If that was gameplay footage, I thought it looked fun. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> But wouldn't it be more fun with a female character. ? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Personally, when the demo started, I was hoping for pirates, what with all the jungle and skulls and talk of buried treasure.

Yeah, slightly disappointing, as its just GT4 with better resolution. He's using the PS2 one... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well thats reassuring then. Because I hate wireless, and was hoping I could just use my PS2 controllers.

Which run did you read? You have to start in Stormwatch, its where the book got its start. Read Warren Ellis' entire run on Stormwatch, then the first two trades of The Authority. The Ellis/Hitch run was vastly superior to the Miller/Quitely run. And not just because Bryan Hitch is a good artist and someone should go back in time to kill Frank Quitely before he could ever put a pencil to paper. The Authority was I believe the first group of heroes to be proactive rather than responsive. The whole point behind them was that most superheroes were basically bandages to the problem. Some villain would launch an attack, and they'd respond. The Authority decided to be a cure rather than a bandage. If a villain kept causing problems, they'd kill him. If it was a whole country causing problems, they'd kill the whole government and keep watch on the country until it got back in shape. I believe at one point they actually took over the US believing a Regime Change would help fix their meddling ways.

AIM is possibly the worst of all the IM software out there. Oh how I long for the good old days of ICQ before AOL made it suck.

If USA & Canada gave the land back to the Indians-
Oerwinde replied to Eddo36's topic in Way Off-Topic
The way I see it, its not our fault if they sold their land for alcohol and beads 150 years ago, so why should we give it back because their ancestors were stupid? -
Yeah, not the choice I would have made but nevermind, and I'm disappointed at no native american civ. Unique buildings though, woo. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The unique buildings sound neat. And I'm really looking forward to the Vassal State option. glad they added civ specific city graphics too.

Canada doesn't really have free health care, its just that its more of a convienience thing. Basically, everyone has health insurance through the government. Some provinces charge a monthly premium for this coverage, such as BC, where my mom was paying 30 bucks a month to cover her, my dad, me, my brother, and my sister. Your premium is based on income. If you make less than 18k per year, you don't pay for your health care. And I think canadians tend to have higher life expectency and general health than americans because Canadians can think "Hrmm, I don't feel well, better go to the doctor to get checked" and they can go to the doctor, get checked over, and not get a bill in the mail for 150 bucks in a week. One example why I'd hate to live under the US system: My girlfriend. A couple years ago she was diagnosed with MS. How this came about was that her limbs were going numb. Once she was unable to turn a doorknob she went to the doctor. They diagnosed her with an anxiety attack and prescribed her some xanax. Now, she had to pay for the Xanax, which did absolutely nothing. She also got charged 180 bucks for the doctor visit. So after a week of taking the xanax and getting worse she went to another doctor. Another $180 fee. They diagnosed her with MS but sent her to a neurologist to make sure. The neurologist cost her $2000 and wouldn't return her phone calls. So now she's $2400 in the hole just so people could tell her what she had. That doesn't even include treatment. Now, if she had been a Canadian citizen, at her current income, that would have cost her approximately $0, instead of $2400

Ok, so I got everything, installed everything, and now windows won't start. Tells me to check for viruses or check my hard drive settings. It started fine before. -
So some more details have surfaced in the last while, the 10 new leaders are: Augustus Ceasar(Rome) Stalin(Russia) Churchill(English) Rameses II(Egypt) Hannibal(Carthage, new Civ) Shaka(Zulu, new Civ) Brennus(Celts, new Civ) Ragnar(Vikings, new Civ) Mehmed II(Ottomans, new Civ) Wang Kon(Koreans, new Civ) The new civs have the same unique units they had in Civ 3, except for the Ottomans, who now have the Jannisary. The Warlord unit does the same thing as other great people in that he can research tech, join cities, contribute to golden ages, etc. But his unique ability is to join itself to a unit, giving them combat bonuses. The Vassal State diplomatic option allows you to subjugate civs you beat the hell out of or are significantly weaker than you. Basically its a one sided alliance. They give you tribute, their land counts as yours for domination victory, and they automatically declare war on your enemies(without cancelling the agreement if you start the war) They added unique city graphics for some of the various civs. And it also looks like some of the civs have unique graphics for various units. One screenshot showed 3 different archer graphics. Looks like the great wall is in for new wonders. From the screenshots it looks like it acts like an aqueduct when it shows on the map, only it runs itself along your territorial lines. In the mongol horde scenario the Mongols get a unique unit called the settler camp that lets them build units on the move, so they can roam the land destroying everything in their path without suffering from bad unit production. Theres more, thats just the more interesting bits. http://pc.ign.com/articles/703/703730p1.html http://www.gamespot.com/pc/strategy/civili...tml?sid=6148499

I wonder if Nintendo feels insecure about their Wii being smaller and less powerful that everyone elses.

"Pinnacle" actually. And yeah. Its funny how it seems like 90% of female asian cosplayers are hot, yet 90% of female caucasian cosplayers really aren't.

I'll see if they have one when I go pick up my order. I'm used to noisy fans with my dual Xeon system. It roars. So I'm not in a big hurry.
