  1. Turkey wasn't one of the $3 ones, and I told him so. Turkey is like 4.19 or something like that. Thats why he was stupid. I told him it wasn't 3 bucks, he said ok, and freaked out when it wasn't 3 bucks.
  2. I'm playing with the Magna Mundi mod right now, which solves the blobbing issue in a very annoying way: HRE nations can't keep the provices they take from other HRE nations unless they have a core on them. But they nerfed the boundary dispute event so no one ever gets cores on anyone else. I was france and managed to vassalize and diplo-annex Friesland, Gelre, Utrecht and Burgundy, and was going to release the Netherlands as a vassal, but the emperor made me give all those provinces back, releasing Holland, Brabant, Friesland, Gelre, and Utrecht, all with 200 relations with me. I've also conquered Lorraine 3 times but it won't let me keep them. You can keep them, but you get like 5 BB points for every province you keep plus it lowers your relations with all the nations in the HRE for every province you keep based on the culture of the province (for instance, I wouldn't give up Zeeland, Brabant, Holland and Utrecht and my relations with Friesland went from 200 to -200 because they were all dutch provinces, while my relations with brandenburg only went down by 100.) It does make the game pretty interesting though in terms of colonization. I used to just hire a conquistador and explorer on the first turn and head off to N/A and pretty much start colonizing right from the start. As france with this mod I wasn't able to explore the new world until like 1510, while Spain had started colonizing the caribbean in 1495 Oh, and tigranes, I notice in your screenshot you seem to have a super Sweden too. My game with france so far they haven't touched norway or Denmark, but have conquered most of Novgorod and the northern Teutonic Order and are setting their sights on Lithuania. Which was funny as they were allied with Lithuania and Poland until a war of succession event which made them carve out a couple provinces from Lithuania's northern border.
  3. I'm struggling with FFXII. Its the hardest one so far. All the others if you got to a part that was too hard you could just go somewhere and grind a couple levels out and go back, with the enemies on the map and the real time battle system, that isn't so easy, so I tend to die a lot. Also the dungeons seem to be really drawn out and pointless. The story and character designs(aside from Vaan) and such are definitely a level above previous games though
  4. Someone created a mod that allows the nation of greece to form if you have at least athens and morea, similar to the german nation, russian nation, italian nation, etc. events.
  5. I hate stupid customers. Like this one guy... I work at subway, we have 3 six inch subs for 2.99, the Cold Cut Trio, Meatball, and Veggie. Guy comes up and asks our specials. I tell him those three. He orders a turkey, but phrases it as "cold cut turkey" I tell him that the turkey isn't part of the 2.99 deal and he says ok. I make his sandwich, get to the till, it comes to 4.55 after tax and he freaks out because I said Cold Cut was 2.99. I also hate people who can't take no for an answer. Mostly with our bathroom. We're located in a convenience store right on the skytrain. There are big signs on the door that say bathrooms are for customers only, so unless you buy something, we don't have to let you in. One time the skytrain broke down stranding a couple hundred people at the station, most of which decided to get a sandwich. So we had our 2 closing people trying to handle a lineup about as big as our lunch rush, which we usually have 6 people to handle. The bathrooms require a key, but the genius management put the keys for both mens and womens washrooms on the same keyring, and on just a little keyring so its easily lost. Therefore we can't just hand out the key. So we have all these people in line and we're working our asses off trying to get them through, and these moron people budge in line and ask us to open the washroom. I tell them we're busy and they'll have to find a public washroom and they get all pissed at me. After like the 5th time that happens I put up a big sign saying washrooms are closed until further notice. Which doesn't stop people from asking us to open the washroom. Same thing happens at night. The signs saying washrooms are for customers only, also say they are only open during restaurant hours. So after we close, they're closed because we have to clean them and such. So we get people coming in and we say sorry bathrooms are closed for cleaning. And they're like "So I can't use the washroom?" and I'm like "No" and their response is "Why not?" We have coupons right now, all of which require you to buy a medium drink. Yet I keep getting people who look at the price after I ring it in and are like "The coupon says 4.49, why is it over $6?" And I tell them that the price of the drink puts it up over $6. They tell me they don't want the drink, so I take off the drink and put it back to regular price, which is over $9. And they get even more pissed off. Its not my fault they can't read, don't get pissed at me. Then I get the moron customers who insist on wearing their headphones while they order and have to keep getting me to repeat myself because they can't hear me. I also don't understand how someone can watch you make an entire sandwich, then point out that you made a mistake back at the beginning, which was easily fixed then, but now that the whole thing is done requires me to throw the whole thing out and start over. And the mistake isn't normally my fault. Like they say they want turkey breast, then we get to the end and they wanted chicken breast, but they didn't think to inform me of their mistake until after its toasted and all the sauces and such are on the sandwich. Had a guy come up to me and bitch at me for 10 minutes after we were closed, about how a subway an hour away from where we were didn't take american express. I even had a guy accuse me of slacking because I was in the back doing the prep that the morning crew was sposed to do while working a 14 hour shift because one of the closers decided not to show up. Customers are the reason that customer service is dead. Employees should be allowed to punch a customer in the face if they are being morons. Like this woman that comes in and orders 3 footlongs with all the veggies. On the side. EDIT: I apologize for that huge rant. I hate my job and seriously need to quit.
  6. Worst fears in order: 1)Public Speaking 2)Heights 3)Deep Water I passed out in Grade 12 when I had to give an oral presentation on phobias in Psychology class. I used myself as an example of the symptoms of a phobia. Got an A on that.
  7. I haven't actually finished a game. I get into the 1700s then start over with a new country or to try out some new mods.
  8. That's kewl! Most are on the official forums, but the servers are down for an upgrade right now.
  9. We need more steampunk. And I'm talking the crazy steampunk like in the Steampunk comic book or Rise of Legends, where we have crazy huge clockwork robots and giant towering cities of industry with davinci-style flying machines and steam powered cyborgs and such. Not the wussy steampunk lite that Arcanum was. (not that Arcanum wasn't supercool) I'd also like to see more cyberpunk. I would also like to see some low magic medieval RPGs. Something similar to the Song of Ice and Fire setting where magic is so rare most people don't even believe in it.
  10. No, Virgil, he doesn't show up again until the end of ep 1. I'm about halfway through again, the wussy commander guy who got grabbed by a gnosis and turned into one.
  11. has anyone else been playing with mods? I've been playing this freaking game nonstop for like 2 weeks and some of the mods and the ease of tweaking some things just makes sure I keep playing. So far I've added Vinland, Iceland, Finland, a united Scandinavia, Jerusalem, and Haiti to the game. I was thinking of modding in my own little fantasy nation too. I also added some mods that allow the Teutonic order to become Prussia, allows tribal governments to become monarchies, some events for the netherlands, and I modded in Old Norse as a religion. I kept the stats similar to Shinto but it gives some colonists. I changed a buttload of flags too. Thought the Brittany flag was ugly so I changed it to the flag of the Duchy of Brittany. The mod that added scandinavia used the Kalmer Union flag, which I thought was ugly so I made my own out of a combination of Norway, Denmark, and Sweden's flags.
  12. Barely Touched Gothic 1-3 Morrowind, Oblivion Xenosaga ep 2 Final Fantasy V Halfway through Final Fantasy XII Final Fantasy IV Fell at the last hurdle Kingdom Hearts Breath of Fire III Suikoden V Deus Ex Lionheart Freedom Force vs The 3rd Reich X-Men Legends II The barely touched ones generally I play for a while then realize I hate the game. Thats what happened with the gothic and elder scrolls games. Xenosaga II I started then it asked me to load my save data from Xenosaga I, and since I couldn't find my saved game, I decided to play through the first one again, but got stuck on that annoying boss that the military guy turns into when you're inside the gnosis mothership.
  13. did anyone else picture a giant Ben Affleck trying to fight an asteroid when they read the thread title?
  14. Transformers.
  15. The night time is the right time. Everyone else was doing it.
  16. They do here. $45 plus 13% tax. Some are 35, but most of those don't interest me.
  17. Didn't Starcraft have like 17? Theres always going to be something you can fix, no matter how much you patch.
  18. You don't own both already? PSP is a great piece of hardware... unfortunately I spent most of my time playing PSX games and listening to music on it. I wish I could do that on my DS. Children of Mana was the only game I got for it and it sucks. So my DS is collecting dust. Plus all the GBA games I want for it are all out of print and I can't afford the 50 bucks for another DS game. Wish I had gotten a PSP, then I could have got MGS:Portable Ops or something.
  19. I'm a cat person.
  20. People will only allow you to respond to what they say if you already know their name.
  21. Thomas Jane one is what I was talking about. What ever happened to Dolph Lundgren anyway? He was awesome. One of the most memorable scenes in any movie ever was him in Johnny Mnemonic as the crazy priest/assassin where he yells "HALT SINNERS!" then gets hit by a truck. And his He-Man was not bad at all. The movie sucked pretty hard but it wasn't because of the casting. Him as He-Man and Frank Langella as skeletor was awesome.
  22. Dashboard - Modest Mouse. After checking out their entire discography... I can't believe their only good song is this one.
  23. Yeah, the trailer shows the first appearance of the Silver Surfer, before anyone knows his motivations and such.
  24. Some sextuplets were born here about a month ago to a Jehovah's Witness couple. They were premature and Jehovah's witnesses are against blood transfusions. So two of the babies died and the rest were seized by the BC government and given blood transfusions to save their lives. A recent poll shows 85% of BC agree with the governments decision to save the lives of the babies against the wishes of the parents. I'm just surprised that 15% don't support it. Sure religious rights are important... but not when they endanger the life of a child.
  25. They just released the extended edition and its crazy cheap with very pretty packaging. I haven't watched mine yet, but it apparently re-adds a whole new subplot about one of his fellow agents betraying him, thats how they find him, and he goes after him. Also added is an animated intro in kuwait. I just watched District B13 the other day, awesome action movie. The Fantastic Four thread has got me wanting to pop that in too.
