That and the Canucks completely collapsing. But hey, Kesler got a goal. Too bad it was in the wrong net.

And the Hockey Gods answer. And boy do they answer.

It depends on the individual. From what I remember, Hal and Guy tend to use simpler constructs, while Jon and Kyle use more complex ones due to their backgrounds. (Jon was an architect, Kyle an artist) It seems like they're cutting ties anyway, they just might have Jackman stay as Wolvie. After all, neither Magneto or Xavier are old enough to be anywhere near what they looked like when they went to visit jean grey the first time. Also Cerebro is built differently. Cerebro was also destroyed by the whirlwind guy so it has to be rebuilt. Also, they met Jean in the late 70s early 80s, so theres still time for them to age. They've said it is a prequel rather than a reboot. I think a reboot would have been a better choice.

Its moot. Humala won. Surprisingly it was like front page news on the Globe and Mail website.

I think its funny that the only people who hate socialised health care are people in countries that don't have it. In my opinion health care should be provided by the people who want you to stay alive and pay more taxes rather than the people who want to have to pay out as little as possible so their profits are higher.

As a fan of the comics some of the things bugged me, which makes me put it below X2 in the rankings, but its definitely a great movie. With time to steep and reflect on it, it might be my favorite X flick. I think cutting all ties to the other 4 would have served the film very well, but then we wouldn't have got that awesome Hugh Jackman cameo.

Don't get your hopes up. 4 books in and it hasn't happened yet.

So far I'm digging the game, but I wish it played more like the first one. Interface is definitely, as others have already pointed out, the low point of the game.

Another example here in Vancouver, a few of the drivers that come into our warehouse have been talking about how the 'nucks need to ditch the Sedins because they haven't been performing in the playoffs. Um... Both are in the top 5 for points in the regular season, with Daniel at #1. Both are in the top 3 for assists, Daniel is in the top 5 for goals. These guys are some of the top players in the entire league, and because they've had a slow playoff run they want to ditch them completely. Its silly.

Thor was actually better than my expectations. Theatre for the 7:30 show on a friday was maybe half full, so I don't see it making too much bank though.

I don't even remember that one. Must have been traumatic. I think its one of the few shows that just keeps getting better. I was kinda hoping the whole soul magnet thing was a way to bring back the character of William Bell without needing Leonard Nimoy, but oh well, it was still pretty interesting.

So... old ass thread, now its like 3 seasons later. Anyone else still watching this? Its currently my favorite show on TV, though Camelot and Game of Thrones are catching it.

If you live in the UK for 10 years and have the right to vote but don't, you're an idiot. Basically he's getting flack for not being an idiot. And you're an idiot if you think burning a qu'ran is morally equivalent to voting.

Yes, because Paul Martin regulated the banking system so it didn't collapse like everyone elses and he paid down the debt so we weren't overwhelmed with it like everyone else. The Conservatives keep getting credited for Paul Martin's accomplishments. The Liberals are the only party with a strong economic track record. And Volourn: Yes, the Liberals need another Cretien. Iggy just didin't cut it, but little known fact, every Canadian has the right to vote in the UK as long as they've resided there for 6 months prior to an election, same as here. I don't get why Iggy got flack for exercising his right to vote.

Don't blame me, I voted NDP. But yeah, the Cons have like 10x the scandals than the Martin Liberals did, and they Gain. It shows that lots of money spent on lies spoken in a doomsday voice can win elections.

Conservatives are really fighting dirty now. They had radio ads going every half hour claiming the NDP Carbon Tax will raise gas prices by 10 cents a litre. Not only do the NDP not plan a carbon tax, but the cap and trade system they propose will not be applied to fuel companies until they have a regulatory board in place to regulate gas prices. The source they cite in the ad refers to a guy who retracted his statement two days ago because he based it on incorrect information. But since the election is tomorrow by the time anyone points this out the election will be over. The Cons are some pretty big scumbags when it comes to the lies they tell in their ads. We need a review board to fact check election ads before they're allowed to be aired. Anyone else who broadcasts this stuff can be sued for false advertising.

Damn speech interrupted American Dad. Killing an old man is not worth interrupting my tv.

Slept, got woken up by the GF wanting me to walk to the mall to drive her home because she felt woozy. Ate Sushi, put the munchkin down for her nap, debated the pros and cons of the monarchy with someone on facebook, then discussed the Canadian election. Made some croissants which the munchkin dubbed "MOON BREAD!" then came on here. Going to go shopping soon.

So Sun News Network went on the air like a week or two ago. Its essentially Fox News Canada, only with production values about equivalent to Weekend Update. Anyway, they've kept pretty quiet about the election so far, but on friday they broke an exclusive that an unnamed source has evidence that Jack Layton was in a massage parlour when it was raided 16 years ago. At the time he was a city councilor fighting police abuse of power and the source is cited as one of the officers who raided the place. It was a licensed facility and his trip was documented in his schedule and ran by his wife. Methinks the conservatives are getting desperate with the NDP closing in on them.

If the vote turns out the way the polls are looking, a combined Liberal/NDP vote could achieve a majority of votes. As the NDP and Liberal platforms are essentially the same in this election, and Layton has a rep for working with the other parties, I'm sure the Liberals could talk down their spending and still achieving much of what they wish to accomplish.

We Canadians have a much more peaceful way. The opposition parties try to push through legislation since they have a majority of the seats, so the party in power simply shuts down parliament, killing any bills that have not yet been passed. Or they make a bill a confidence motion, forcing the opposition to either abstain or vote for it in order to avoid forcing an election that they can't win.

This is the first time the Liberals have been in 3rd place in the history of the party. I don't see Ignatieff surviving as leader of the party with him leading them to the worst defeat they've ever seen. They need a leader like Cretien. He had a great speech the other day about how when he was first elected in 1963 Canada had no pension plan, no medicare, no flag, no national anthem, the constitution was a British act of Parliament, and no charter of rights. Now these are all things that define Canada and the Liberal party was responsible for it all(With help from the NDP on the medicare). If the Liberals had someone like that giving speeches like that from the beginning of the election we could be looking at the Liberals back in power, and thats a party that Harper can't attack their economic record. Especially since they've been taking credit for their accomplishments since day one. Personally I think the best thing to come out of this is it looks like the NDP will replace the Bloc in Quebec. Rejecting every federal party did nothing but further alienate Quebeckers from the rest of Canada. I think an NDP minority government could be fantastic. They would have the Liberals and Conservatives keeping their spending in check, though more likely the Conservatives would just act like the Republicans and shoot down good ideas simply because they didn't come up with them.

They handled Drogo wrong if I remember the book right. Dany sees how depraved the Dothraki are and he's surprisingly gentle so she comes to love him. In the show they made him just like the rest of them. She ends up being one of the best characters in the book. So far they're being extremely faithful. I pictured Robert taller though.
