  1. If there is anything manlier than Gears, then it's 40k. When your standard sidearm is a fully automatic armour-piercing rocket-propelled grenade launcher, you know that it can only get better from there. Check it out on TvTropes for the full extent of the lulz that is 40k.
  2. "Space Marine"? If they had gone any more generic, it would have been called "Game". Where is my Homeworld 3?
  3. I hope you are using DOSBox, otherwise the scrolling is way too fast in the missions. Great game, though!
  4. Yeah, welcome to two weeks ago.
  5. Me too! High five!
  6. That's always a risk. You'll just have to kick them out when you can still overpower them or at least distract them with shiny objects. You could also try this
  7. But if they're super smart, you can kick them out by the age of 5 and save a ton of money. They will rule the streets of Rotterdam /Ender's Shadow reference
  8. They also made glow in the dark puppies. It's cool and all, but I want super smart and super awesome children, you can keep your glowy children.
  9. It's like a little bit of my childhood tossed into the rubbish bin. Maybe it's for the best. Think of a world without Star Wars prequels or Indiana Jones IV. We'll always have Duke Nukem 3D.
  10. I'm sure the lawsuit will put them out of their misery. Still, it's kind of sad that the DNF saga is over. It's like an end of an era.
  11. Don't worry, I think it's all part of the "immersion".
  12. The faction stuff was OK in small amounts, but it really made the game less fun as it was the focus of the game. The single-player story and adventuring seemed to get pushed aside in favor of all the faction stuff. And the faction stuff just wasn't robust enohgh to make a truly interesting game. It's too bad, too, because there were so many great improvements. STALKER 3 sounds like it might be grabbing the best of both SOC and CS and mushing them together, which would be great. Bugwise, I had no problems with CS which really surprised me. I was expecting a disaster, but it was less crashprone and weirdly buggy than say FO3. edit: I've started noticing this weird bug in FO3 where cars suddenly spin around or cartwheel about for no discernible reason. I mean I assume its a bug. :/ Maybe you got one of the new perks where merely looking at stuff makes it blow up?
  13. I especially like the parts where rifle bullets drop as fast as if you were throwing them and the save-corrupting bugs really made my day. The atmosphere was pretty cool, though. Did you try STALKER: CLear Sky? It is considerably less buggy and has a lot of good gameplay improvements. But to me it has lost some of the atmosphere that made the first one so great. It was a bit better, but the faction stuff was seriously sucky with people attacking the same spots over and over. The constant blowouts got really annoying as well. Some of the new stuff, like weapon upgrades, was awesome but the game still felt like it was barely working and could stop at any moment.
  14. Don't forget IDKFA
  15. So Doom it is! Or Heretic if you prefer pretty-er colors. Also, who uses the strafe button? You usually play with WSAD and mouse...

  17. Crysis addicting? hah! You are weak, little man, weak! Doom 1/2 are still awesome, there is also a great homebrew version for the DS. The SCAR probably sucks for sniping because there is a real sniper in the game as well.
  18. Duke Nukem Forever The future is now!
  19. I've known of the Fallout Bible since it was released on the old Interplay boards. I think I still have it somewhere on my HDD. You're not real fans!
  20. None of the "twitchy" games are really hard these days. Have you tried playing it on easy? Also, I wasn't saying that you can't use stealth in Crysis, I just felt that it was a lot more fun to rush in a beat people up instead of sniping them from miles away which was a lot more fun in Farcry. I didn't really like the tank on tank level because they kept blowing my tank up all the time and I had to limp around looking for C4 and rockets. And what's up with the enemies that have the same suits that you do, they were incredibly annoying.
  21. You didn't miss much, only an annoying spider-boss and a horrible cliffhanger. Still, Farcry felt somehow larger, you could circle around the enemy base and snipe people or lure them into the jungle. Crysis seems to want you to just jump in and smash everything. And damn those insta-kill jeeps.
  22. Stay in the house and use the rocket launcher. I didn't like Crysis all that much, Farcry 1 was way more open and fun (until the mutants...). It's still a fun FPS with some cool gimmicks, also it's way more awesome if you make your own fun. Try rushing into an encampment and use strength to throw people around and jump on roofs, cloak is tons of fun as well.
  23. Maybe he has to protect Batman or something? Or maybe the predators took a side-trip to score some kryptonite. Superman is like the worst superhero anyway...
  24. The beginning was a bit rough, but I'm really enjoying it now. The little Veridian Dynamics commercials are really funny as well. Go check out the trailer if you haven't seen it yet.
  25. The only thing that would make this even more bizarre would be if the comic was actually good. OR if Superman teamed up with the Predator and Batman with the Aliens. Ah comics, the land of wonder and unexplainable matchups.
