I'm all for flawed masterpieces, but Fahrenheit is pretty much the only other thing that they have done and that I have played. The story had potential, but they screwed it up royally with the second half. Someone seriously though that adding ANOTHER evil cult and a damn artificial intelligence was a great idea... I know they were short on time, but apparently cutting the delirium-induced story elements was not an option.

Woah, that some M. Night Shyamalan stuff right there. What a twiist!

I also saw a pimple on his face. I'm not goona buy the game now. Geez, did someone put sand in your schnaaschnaa this morning? I was actually slightly positive about it. Maybe you should understand on how Scandinavian culture works, nothing is ever awesome, ever. If something does not suck enough or is considered ok, it is 'good' from central european standards, and Dragon Age-thisisthenewsh*t-awesome from north american standards I subscribe to the same Scandinavian cynicism. After all, Estonia has always been the wannabe Scandinavian state, we even have a Finno-Ugric language...

The graphics could use an update, though...

They would either have to have the writing chops to make it non cheesy or not take it too seriously. If they do take it too seriously, it could end up pretty bad. The pilot will probably make that clear. I'm sure they will manage to "accidentally" leak the pilot over the summer, like all the new shows last summer.

Because the Obsidian board has a large and diverse set of posters. Those 11.6 million people who play World of Warcraft are all flash in the pan and have been for five years now. We're all special!

About 20 people know about this game. You have an odd idea of hype. Well the hype on NeoGAF and in the gaming "journalism" circles.
-
Is that really surprising? WoW is mostly played by bored housewives and "gamers" who play only that. We are the hardcore ADD crowd here.

Uhm, no, you can directly control your character during gameplay. From what I understand, you don't directly navigate the character, but rather look at a direction and then walk to this direction. I think that's a bit more natural than navigating the whole body. Anyways, HR turns out to be an enjoyable experience, something different. I'm picking this up at release day. Yeah release day, in Australia It might be good, but everyone is hailing it as the great new and innovating game. The hype is through the roof, as usual.

I have played a lot of trials, but usually got bored before the trial ended. I did like Helbreath a million years ago.

Yeah, you can walk from one cutscene/QTE to another. A deep story would be awesome, but Fahrenheit didn't really fill me with confidence. And what's the deal with the super CSI shades? Of course you can't do the whole CSI process, but at least don't try to pretend that they are anything other than a gimmick. Can't he just look at the tire tracks and use his super detective skills instead of super sci-fi glasses?

It's still just a quick-time event fest, so it's not all that keyboard-friendly. I really like the idea of having multiple intervening, but ultimately independent characters with their own plotlines. I don't like the fact that it is pretty much Dragon's Lair and that you have button icons flying around your character. Turning a game into one long QTE is a horrible, horrible idea.

V I believe is just a 12 part miniseries, so its possible she had/has time for both. At least I hope she does, she's become one of the more likeable characters on Lost. No, they were talking about a up to 4 season series. Also there are two extended clips from the trailer: The interview scene The "we come in peace" scene Jane Badler was really awesome as the original Diana, I hope Morena can pull it off.
-
At least she'll get a lead-ish roll and sci-fi shows are in desperate need of good acting talent these days. I did like her on Lost, though.

Hmm, a revolutionary government does some somewhat questionable things to remain in power? Perhaps you have heard of the lynching of Tories in revolutionary America, or the Reign of Terror in revolutionary France? And a few thousand civilians dead doesn't even match up to about the Mexican-American War (committed more than half a century prior, when there were much fewer people), much less the mass slaughter of civilians under US-backed dictatorships. A few thousand? * Executed: 50-200,000 * Died in prison or killed in revolts: 400,000 Some even mark the number of deaths under Lenin at 4 million. From here Also, this sounds interesting: (from Wikipedia) What are you trying to say? That Lenin was no worse than the western leaders?
-
They haven't specified the date, but it will start fall 2009.
-
As I said before, read up on Red Terror and see if it measures up to the things that the American presidents you listed did.
-
The first trailer for the remake of the classic sci-fi series V is out. They really managed to make the cute Morena Baccarin look weird and creepy.
-
Yeah pretty much that along with old dieing leaders and stagnating technology and ideology. It was way worse in China, though.
-
I'm not saying that's nothing, but if Nazi Germany had ~80 years, I'm sure a bunch of people would die because of starvation/not outright murder. Also, Lenin had death squads go after the farmers who didn't want to give up their stuff in the name of communism. The argument here is that Lenin was also bad, not that he was better/worse than Hitler/Mao/Stalin.
-
It wouldn't greatly surprise me if that were true, but I find it odd that I've never heard of it before. Sources? Oh, Lenin had lots of people killed just look up Red Terror. Hitler might be everyone's favorite genocidist, but Lenin isn't far behind. If you don't like Wikipedia, you can also look here for a short essay. And just for lulz, I also found some numbers about the victims of the different dictatorships in the 20th Century: China (PRC) 1949-87 .. 76.702 million U.S.S.R. 1917-87 ........ 61.911 million Colonialism ................ 50.000 million Germany 1933-45 ....... 20.946 million (including 5.291 million Jews) China (KMT) 1928-49 .. 10.075 million

Umm, it exists already. Let's also not forget such classics as "Superman and Batman versus Aliens and Predator", "Green Lantern versus Aliens" and "Judge Dredd vs. Aliens" The movies are crap, but the AvP games are pretty much three different games in one package. The gameplay and even the tone is totally different in the campaigns and it's good fun. @Gorgon: the movie was inevitable after all the AvP comics and novels. The games don't even have anything in common with the movies other than the obvious Aliens and Predators. I'd just blame Hollywood and be done with it.

And all of them are pimps, with blings 'n' fedoras 'n' sticks. That's how they roll, man!

I'm playing Gun which is a surprisingly good open world western game. Nice and mature story with some RPGish elements. That game flew totally under my radar when it came out.
