They ARE making at least some new NPCs for the second game, right? There's not really much more you can say about the old ones, unless they add some other backstory gimmick from the random backstory creator. *roll* Ashley gets "evil twin" and "daddy didn't love me" *roll* Kaiden gets "mysterious childhood friend" and "keeps secret diary" ...

Someone should really make an MMO set in the 1920/30 with all the mafia and detective noir stuff. Get some great music and slap a sepia filter on it and it'll be awesome. My second choice would be a Shadowrun-style cyberpunk corporate-run dystopia. Too bad there's one flaw with MMOs that you can't remove - other people...

I'm not quite sure if you are saying you can get away with it in America or not. We have neighborhoods all over that support foreign languages. In the US you can pretty much go your whole life without learning English if you want. But we also don't have an official language in our country. I'm saying that in a bigger country the incentives to learn the language/culture are greater. The immigrants probably won't get the idea that they could mold the country to their wishes. For example, there are quite a few Russians here in Estonia who don't/won't learn the language because they feel superior to the locals and some still consider Estonia a part of Russia/Soviet Union. In America, if the immigrants want their children to get a decent job/education they will have to at least learn the language.

It is a lot different in America. You have to learn the language, you can't just live in your little ghetto and get by. In smaller European countries the immigrants think that they can carve out their own little chunk and get by without learning the language or respecting the local laws/culture. Of course there are also nice immigrants who just want to build a life in the new country, but for every one of those you have ten others who want everything to be the way they think it should be, laws included.

Awesome! I hope they do a good job of it. Scott Peters who has done The 4400 and The Outer Limits is doing this. I haven't seen The 4400 but I have heard good things about it, at least he has experience with aliens. The cast looks pretty capable as well, so I would say that there is certainly hope.

I didn't think of the EU parliament. But still, they couldn't do anything crazy, Germany has 82 million people and 99 seats in the EU parliament and the largest party has 284 seats. Turkey couldn't really do anything alone with their ~85 seats.

Yeah, if they all magically gained citizenship. Immigarnts don't get to vote the parliament, at least not here.

Except, this won't happen in the next 20-30 years anyway. Turkey has yet take many steps to be EU-ready, and by the current course, they rather make steps backwards than forward. Yeah, that whole genocide thing is a bitch. Then again Estonia was declared "Judenfrei", but at least we were occupied at the time.

It's going to be extra super special awesome when Turkey gets into the EU. I'm still hoping that the cold will keep the masses at bay. I don't have anything against them per say, but we have enough problems with the Russians.

Assassins Creed had Jade Raymond and that didn't end all that well...(for her) I think she is now in charge of the Chicago earthquake game I Am Alive. No, Jade Raymond wasn't the brain-force behind AC. And albeit she was a producer, I always got the feeling she and her beauity was just used for the media. And she isn't working on I Am Alive either, that rumor has been declined. I can't name a single female creative lead in a single sentence along with MCA, Warren Spector, Will Wright or Hideo Koijama. Kim Swift! She was the lead on portal, right? She's not up there with mr. Disney Spector or Robot Wright, but she did make a good game.

I couldn't care less whether she was racist or not, I'm just saying that it was her main "thing" and didn't make her stand out.(at least for me and I played the game like an year ago) I also distinctly remember her breaking down in one of the conversations and telling me how she misses her mother or sister. I'm not saying that she is worse than any of the other misfits, I just didn't like her and never found her "interesting". It is also just an opinion... EDIT: It's like one character goes "My whole race was made sterile by a biological weapon and we are slowly dying out" and another goes "I'm human and I don't like aliens"

Wow, where did you get she was a racist bastard? Just because she thinks humans are meant to fly a human vessel? Come on, racist bastard.... Racists are those that usually kill people for being ethnically different. Anyway, I liked Ashley. She was straight and cool yet not one of these silly Tomb Raider wannabe-cool Hollywood puppets. I'm looking forward to have her in my party again in ME2. It's pretty obvious that she doesn't like the other aliens. You can be a bigot without committing mass murder. I didn't like her because there was nothing really interesting about her, she was just a soldier with a boring sob story. I have to disagree with you there. And she was the character we learn the most about. Kaiden just goes on about Jump Zero and the aliens have half their dialogue used for info kiosk about their species except Garrus, who you have pretty one note convos with. Even if she was racist, that wouldnt make her a badly written character I never said she was a badly written character, I said that I didn't like her because I found her to be boring. Kaiden wasn't much better. I'd rather hear about some weird alien species than a melodramatic sob story.

I would guess that they have some default(canon) choices that they use if you don't import your save. I'm sure someone will figure out how to hack the saves on the PC, though. It would be pretty weird if the games just asked you about the choices in the beginning. Maybe some weird JRPG-style personality quiz?

I'd watch Terminator just for the hot Summer Glau action... Speaking of sci-fi stuff, they are reimagining(ala Battlestar) the old 80s sci-fi show "V" with Alan Tudyk(Alpha), Elizabeth Mitchell(Lost's Juliet) and Morena Baccarin(Firefly's space prostitute) as the evil mouse-eating lizard overlord.

They don't really want to come here much. Must be too cold or unfriendly.
