  1. Of course, I would. Who the hell buys DRM-d music? That's just plain stupid. Get it from Amazon or some other DRM-free place. We're talking about software here.
  2. Sounds like a trustworthy place... I hope you aren't condemning the whole business model because you had one bad experience with some shady stuff from your country I'd never get anything DD from some local site, especially if it is DRM-d. That's pretty much common knowledge.

  5. I'd just add that nothing breaks the immersion like you character not doing what you wanted him to do or doing it with a noticeable lag.

  9. It's outdated because it is the only recent game to use that system and it's stupid because every other game (including everyone's favorite realistic shooter ARMA2) lets you move and shoot at the same time.
  10. I'm sorry, I can't argue about stuff that I don't enjoy? The argument is about the shoot while moving thing, not about whether I like the Resident Evil games. I'm perfectly capable of respecting RE5 as a fun and enjoyable game, I just find that particular mechanic stupid and outdated. Is my opinion invalid because I happen to dislike the game? I also loved PST, but hated the combat in it, does that make my option invalid?
  11. I wouldn't play either of them(because I like neither realistic shooters nor survival horror games), but the first one would at least make some sense. And either of us could spontaneously combust this very instant. If one does come and isn't outdated, feel free to send me a link, until then, focus on the here and now.
  12. Compare it to Dead Space which is as close to the control scheme as you're going to get with a non-RE game.

  15. Bah, I still don't get why people were gushing over the nuke scene, it wasn't anything special. The Chernobyl stuff was much cooler.
  16. The most I get is a deep depression as I realize that that's what most people are like. Sitting alone on a cliff and laughing at stupid people stops being fun when you realize that you have to live with those people and the choices they make(democracy 'n all).

  21. The newest game in the series has the best controls in the series? Shocking. I'd wager it doesn't even make the game more difficult, although that'd probably only be true for the first games, because the designers obviously felt it'd be a concern because they intentionally made the AI retarded in RE4, presumably to compensate. I guess in a way I'd consider the combat mechanic detrimental to RE4, if only because it made the developers feel it was necessary to have hostiles conveniently slow down and let you shoot them in the face. Resident Evil 4 was way too easy IMO. That, and I really preferred the zombie angle, rather than infected angle. So it's just there for that sweet Resident Evil style? The bottom line is that I find it stupid, but as I said nothing is stopping people from having fun with the game, my opinions are not absolute truths. Even the controls in Dead Space were way too stiff and slow for my liking. I just prefer games where I have as direct control over my character, at least for real-time action games, even if it is unrealistic. On the other hand people in real life aren't controlled by gamepads or a KB/M combo so some abstraction is necessary and appreciated.
  22. I can enjoy Fallout 3 along with its combat system, but that doesn't mean that it couldn't use a whole lot of improvement. I'm not saying that RE5 is inherently unenjoyable because of the combat system. I'm saying that it is a outdated way to increase the difficulty and could use a whole lot of overhauling. I'm getting the feeling you just suck at Resident Evil about now... If you don't like it, don't play it. It's as simple as that. if Resident Evil's combat mechanic is so detrimental to the game, how come the game franchise has had so much success that it's spawned several sequels, and even movie spinoffs, as well as other spinoffs like Dino Crisis? I guess those game buyers just like playing with the most unintuitive complicated game controls, in spite of all the other better designed and superior combat systems in other survival horror games. Oh I avoid them like plague, but I have played it a bit. You of all people(being on this board) should know that popularity has very little, if anything to do with a game's quality. Also, Dino Crisis came out last on the PS1 and the XBOX, a time when unintuitive controls were all but the norm.
  23. We're stating that Resident Evil 5's (or any resident evil for that matter) shooting system doesn't detract from its gameplay experience either, so your point is irrelevant. So you're saying that moving while shooting would add nothing to RE5 or even detract from it? Why not talk about the mechanic in general? If it is so realistic, why don't more games still use it?
  24. Anyone defending RE5, let me ask you this: Dead Space allowed you to walk and shoot at the same time, did it detract from the experience in any way? Would the game have been better with the more "realistic" stand-still-to-shoot model?
