  1. With that I can agree. But "the right hands" wouldn't make a half-assed game. And I want an unicorn. What are the chances that it will end up in the "right hands" and get enough publisher funding and freedom to actually finish it and release a polished game?
  2. Great, your opinion has been noted, WoD.
  3. A good SS2 sequel would be awesome, but the chance of anyone doing the franchise justice at the moment is slim to none IMO. I'd rather have no SS3 than some half-assed game based on someone else's "vision".
  4. And where are they going to get those able hands? I say do it right(Ken Levine etc.) or don't do it at all.
  5. A sequel to which game? I'm glad that they aren't dragging out all the old IPs to squeeze the last few dollars out of them.
  6. Yes, you've learned that opinions are not facts, good for you. Now take a short quiz: Betty wears a green dress. Betty is nice. Can you spot the fact? Very good girls and boys. Then you realize that you can't objectively say that the quality of games has gone down and did indeed present your opinion as a fact?
  7. At least they tried something new, it's better than "yes-we-release-it-every-year 2009" and "doomed-to-fail-MMO #72".
  8. Look kids, it's mr trollman! If you have a capable PC, get the PC one. They really upped the graphics on the PC version IIRC.
  9. I would have, if I hadn't found that sweet crossed out = symbol. It just looks neater.
  10. Your personal opinion ≠ fact.
  11. In who's opinion? Everything isn't as black and white as you make it seem. @Alanschu: Quite possibly, but the industry pretty much dug that hole for themselves and people happily paying $60 for whatever minigame collection has the shiniest cover isn't helping either.
  12. Having a larger market should actually help the niches, but maybe we'll get there eventually. There used to be a nice balance between innovation and wide-market appeal, but now full-price games are all mainstream and simple-ish indie games have all the innovation. There's also stuff like Age of Decadence, but it's pretty much an off-the-radar pet project more than a products that will generate any real money.
  13. Not that anyone is really hyping Flashforward that I know of.
  14. Does this count as self-advertisement? Only if I actually made money on it, which I sadly don't.
  15. Games are much more complex now from a technical point of view. The experiences are more streamlined, the games more formulaic. The innovation seems to come more from smaller indie games with the bigger developers taking less risks. The complexity of gameplay and the importance of story/characters/writing may have declined, but the overall quality of products has undoubtedly gone up.
  16. Stuff changes over time, your tastes don't, conflict confirmed. That's just the way it is.
  17. Finished the demo, the puzzles are pretty clever and I really like the art style. Everyone who has a free hour to try something awesome, be sure to check it out, the demo is only like 40MB.
  18. Crap, I put them together because they came out at the same(ish) time. I'd play Mirror's Edge before Dead Space. ME feels more like a PC game and looks really pretty on a PC while Dead Space just looks nice.
  19. Play Beyond Good & Evil, The Longest Journey, Portal, World of Goo, Max Payne 1/2 if you haven't already and check out THIS THREAD.
  20. Don't start the whole "there are no good games these days" old man speech again. You need to lower your expectations and look at more indie stuff or die alone in your ivory tower.
  21. It wasn't horrible, especially if you like over-the-shoulder style "survival horror" games, but don't go in expecting an awesome story, it's pretty boiler plate. My biggest complaint was that it was about twice as long as it should have been. The combat stuff was pretty unique and the weapons(and upgrade system) were also cool. The Yahtzee review was pretty accurate IMO. Get Mirror's Edge and Prince of Persia, both are flawed, but ultimately interesting and enjoyable games.
  22. The characters were really uninspired and generally unlikable IMO. I will probably check it out for the great mystery, but it's no LOST. The stadium dude was obviously Neo, BTW.
  23. Punishable by making you play it, amirite?
  24. If you didn't have one how did you play Halo 3 n' stuff?
  25. Still pretty funny that I managed to reply you between the double post. Flood control ain't got nothing on you
