If there's anyone other than Apple who wants total control, it's probably Activision. Also having it on their servers will mean that they will be able to deal with whatever problems there might be like cheating and whatnot. The bottom line is that there is not secret conspiracy against PC gaming, it's just the way things are going at the moment.

Are you sure it's the exact same net code? Even if it is, maybe they wanted a unified system for future's sake?

If you have to make is specially for the PC port, it most certainly won't be free. Anything concerning the net code will probably need way more testing than other non-net code related stuff.

It would be nice to see some more new IPs instead of the increasing serialization that's going on now.

Most games that have a console as the leading platform end up like that, it's not anything new or particularly exciting. It's not a matter of turning PCs into consoles, but a matter of there being few PC-only games and companies not spending money to make the PC port any different from the console ones.

What I meant was that I personally don't really care much for game reviews, even if they're written by JC Denton himself. What EDGE has and most other magazines don't are the articles and other stuff.

I couldn't care less about the reviews, what EDGE does well is the articles and editorials written by competent people. They're reviews aren't worth any more than any other magazine's.

Oh, get out of here! PC sales were a fraction of MW's sales. They don't have some evil secret scheme to turn PC gamers into console gamers. They are doing what they can to cut the costs of the PC port by making it as close to the console version as possible. Since the large majority of people will play it on the console why waste time and resources to make the PC version special. It's just a way to sell a few more units.

The only gaming magazine worth anything these days is EDGE. Most are barely alive as it is.

Even if it is, who cares? They could have not released MW2 on PC if they really really hate the platform and secretly want to make a huge bonfire of all gaming-capable PCs.

It wouldn't change anything. It will probably be the best selling game this gen with 15+ million units sold.

The PCG UK guys have always been pansies. If DA really is as hard as everyone is saying it will chase off the casuals faster than Hearts of Iron.(not that it's a bad thing) RPG of the decade? But BG2

The whole multiplayer is totally dependent on Infinity Ward's servers, unlike say TF2 which lets everyone who wants run their own servers. In the end it means that they alone will have to be able to deal with the server load and they can shut MW2's multiplayer down.(if MW3 comes out and they want people to migrate for example)

Yeah, that's the "pro" solution. VLC is just fine if you need something to play videos with, I use MPC on my netbook as well.

It's Activision, if you're not expecting the absolute worst of them, you WILL be disappointed.
