  1. Mass Effect is pretty much your typical Bioware deal. It's fun, well put together and pretty, but doesn't do anything revolutionary or groundbreaking. It lacks somewhat in the combat department and most of the sidequests are not worth the trouble.
  2. Get the Orange Box if you haven't already, it's pretty sweet. If you get Bioshock lower whatever expectations you have, A LOT, seriously.
  3. I think your sarcasm button is stuck again, Gifted.
  4. I enjoyed it much more because of that. Well, then you are weird. I generally find timed challenges to be frustrating.
  5. It would have been fine if sleeping and traveling didn't screw it up so much. Having to worry about my spirit energy every second, makes it hard to enjoy the rest of the game.
  6. If it becomes big enough the ISPs will happily make a deal with the platform holders to let that traffic ignore the cap. All you need is a little money to grease the ISP's palms.
  7. That's how it works most of the time. It was even funnier when the Kojima countdown site crashed at 00:00:00 because people overloaded the servers.
  8. Did you get all the pieces of the mask? There are actually 4 different ending: the "all is well" one, the "I screwed up so now I'll stay here forever" one, the "selfish" one and the "I eat babies" one.
  9. It doesn't reduce prices, at least compared to retail games. What it does do, especially on the PC, is let people make cheaper games and sell them at cheaper prices. Almost none of the download-only games cost anywhere near $50.
  10. Yup, you just have to take out the demilich first IIRC. You can check it out on youtube.
  11. Cloud gaming is a pipe dream at this point, the infrastructure is nowhere near what it would need to be for it to be viable. Still, that's probably the future of the future.
  12. Do I look like a publisher? I've always been against region locking. AFAIK they do it because they have always done it and because they kind of still can. I'm sure there was some kind of logic behind it back in the analog day, but I don't have a clue what it might have been.
  13. Well, I hope the countdown will end as epically as the one in Lost.
  14. *weird WoD joke goes right over my head* So we can assume that it's counting down to the re-release of Mechwarrior 4?
  15. The difference is that your console isn't a record player, they won't be making DVDs for the 360 once they move on to Blu-Ray and even if they did, the games wouldn't work on the (then) outdated hardware. You're going to end up with a box that doesn't have a disc drive and the only way to get the games will be download from the internet or download on some medium like a flash drive and then from there to the console. Sure you can still play your 360 games on the 360, but not the Xbox 5's games on the same 360.
  16. I'm thinking more of the retailers breaking the street date.(as usual)
  17. The console makers can easily sell the hardware at Walmarts, Amazon etc. They certainly don't need retail for that.
  18. They can probably control the DD providers better than retail. Which is probably among the reasons they want to get rid of retail ASAP.
  19. At least you can't say that their acting is wooden.
  20. Because publishers are ****.
  21. Well, I can't stand the Nostalgia Critic(and his other incarnations), so there!
  22. ...and without Anti Aliasing
  23. Anyone playing the PC version? How's the optimization?
  24. I wasn't a big fan of the spirit meter either, it was a cool idea, but the execution was annoying at best.
