  1. Wasn't so funny when Iron Lore did it with Titan Quest... Iron Lore did a big mistake of not making this a public information... i never played Titan Quest, but 1st time i've heard that the game was intentionaly bugged for pirates, was about 2 years after they got bankrupt... Instead of some random bugs, they should just have a sign pop up saying that you have a pirated copy(and if not, send an email to this address). WOuldn't that be as effective as saying "The game is not yet cracked properly. Go back and try again!" Having some secret stealth DRM that screws up the pirated games just leads to really bad PR and possibly bancrupcy, as with Iron Lore. Also, there are usually cases where the DRM gets activated on a legal copy, this causes extra confusion and doesn't help anyone. This isn't some secret war between the developers and the pirates, companies should just focus on the paying customers, like Ironclad and Bioware seem to be doing.

  3. And then Iron Lore went under. Good stuff...

  5. No honor among thieves? Just goes to show that it is easier to pirate games than to go to where the developer is providing it and get it for 0$.
  6. Sorry. It's just that trolling as you describe would be so apocalyptically sad and lonely that it's hard to imagine anyone getting kicks from doing it. This is the internet, dude!
  7. Oh look, a DRM thread, I predict civil discourse and intelligent exchange of ideas I just wanted to chime in on the Steam vs other online DRM solutions. The reason I have a certain dislike for all the online DRMs, but still love Steam is that, while Steam did have a lot of problems in the beginning, it actually works now and also has an offline mode if you don't want to maintain a constant connection. My main problem with most of the other online DRM solutions is that they usually don't work for 1-2 weeks after the game is out. You'd think they would have fixed it in the 2 years that it's been in use, but it keeps happening all the time.
  8. It's like ever time LoF makes a thread everyone instantly forgets all his previous 87094 trolling threads and the the discussion goes down the same old drain it always does. LoF, you are truly a most successful troll. Props!
  9. That would have been pretty Ilana-esque. I like it.
  10. THIAF 4 lyfe, dawg!
  11. Yeah but think how awkward the finale ending would be with both of them sitting next to MiB
  12. Diablo 2 did it to keep the characters and items consistent with the multiplayer, though.
  13. The only thing I don't like about Aero is the translucent taskbar, it's really distracting if you have a bright wallpaper. That said the glassy look is way better than the horrible blue ones from XP.
  14. It was one slot per character. You could still have a bunch of different characters.
  15. I can't think of a single game that has a save function, but doesn't have multiple save slots. Next up: does this game have a cursor on the menu screen? Inquiring minds demand to know!
  16. Just finish the game, let it settle for a little while and see what you think then. It's certainly an interesting experience and a fun ride, but it has some pretty big flaws as well.
  17. I'm only in Chpater 17 right now, and I haven't noticed any plot holes yet. The VO is absolutely excellent. Don't believe everything the haters say. The only one of the voice actors who is good-ish is Madison, for whatever reason the developer didn't want to get professional voice actors and it shows. "Jason!" "JASON!" As for the plot holes, TVtropes has a nice big list of them, for when you finish the game.
  18. Where's the game in Heavy Rain? If you're looking for another twitchy action adventure, then look elsewhere. I have no trouble with HR for what it is. I really like the production values and the well done characters. What about the gaping plot holes and horrible voice acting?
  19. It was about managing humanity's last-ditch effort to fight off the advanced alien invasion already in progress. A desperate struggle against the odds with you being out-manned, out-gunned and having vastly inferior technology. It did also have lizard men, among other things.
  20. Yeah right. Probably a nice comprehensive episode that sets all the characters up for the finale. The skeleton situation will probably get answered somewhere but only in passing, like the whispers were.
  21. But 20s-30s has all the cool cars, tommy guns, the prohibition and awesome jazz clubs
  22. 20s-30s or bust.
  23. Right, the other one was kind of hidden on lostpedia.
  24. Looks like Mafia Meets Goo Explosions.
  25. According to Lostpedia, there's one normal episode (about MiB) and then the two and half hour finale.
