  1. Hi GD Welcome back, how was the camping trip? I've never had a bad one but this one was great! Beautiful place and I had it almost all to myself. Unfortunately I had to cut it short for work but that's how it goes. I was thinking about going back weekend after next but I'm going to be real busy and may not make it. I'm meeting with my partners tomorrow to discuss a new bid and I've still got two full time projects now. But getting to just pack up and go is the one upside of not having a family to look after. I'm divorced with no kids (other than a dog who is convinced he's smarter than me) so there really is no reason not to. Thanks for the update, if you don't mind I would like to ask you some questions about your camping trips. The reason is I am fascinated by the concept of people just living in the wild or getting away by themselves for a few days. My parents were divorced when I was 4 and even though I saw my dad every second weekend we never ever went camping as he is a businessman and we always did things in the city. Subsequently I have never been camping in my life, I have spent 1 night in chalets overnight but thats more of luxurious accommodation and not really "roughing" it. So thats the context to my questions, I am not being nosy What food do you take and can you hunt and fish if necessary Where does your much loved dog sleep when you go camping, I assume you have a tent How close are other people to you when you go camping? Do you miss seeing people or do you prefer being isolated What is your routine on these trips? Do you wake up at 6 am and then go hiking or do you fish. Or are there other activities Finally if you are by yourself what would happen in an emergency, like you break your leg? Sorry to bombard you with all questions, anything you can answer would be great
  2. I like it, its very difficult to dispute "lawyer logic "
  3. I dunno, from what I've seen of the series, I think it's all right. edit:... and I was beat to it! @ Nep I tend to agree with GD on this point, I fall firmly into the absolute love of the Game of Thrones books and TV series
  4. Nope our scores are almost indentical
  5. Well done France for passing the first part of a law that allows Gay Marriage, a progressive and legally challenging step to make. But important and necessary
  6. Hi GD Welcome back, how was the camping trip?
  7. And now we have the intellectual justification for Pirating, I was wondering when someone would make a similar argument. But you are still still stealing and breaking the law, but if you sleep fine at night thats good news I am opposed to Pirating on any level under any circumstances, I think there is a false and trenchant sense of entitlement from many people that Pirate and I've heard every excuse for this form of theft, I once had a guy say " I Pirate because the Developers made a bad game and by Pirating its going to teach them a lesson to make a better game " The main reason people Pirate is because they can and there is no legal consequences. They choose to do it and not pay for something that someone else has worked years to create
  8. wait, it's not a standalone game? I really want to try it (mainly because of this comment, "Zecorian's Demesne (the final dungeon of SoZ) was a brilliantly designed masterpiece by Jeff Husges, that made great use of exploration, stealth, traps, puzzles, conversations, customized combat AI, and devious boss encounters. I think it is a shining example of both strategic and tactical role playing") but I can't find my NWN 2 CD anywhere... None of the expansions are stand-alone. Also, that comment is in error. Most of the SoZ dungeons are very small, but numerous. Zecorian's Demesne is not the final dungeon of SoZ, though one of the "end-game" ones. It's a small dungeon, though quite difficult (probably one of the more difficult things in the game). The final area of SoZ is indeed longer though and quite nicely designed, both visually and game design wise. Especially rewarding is that you can sneak through the entire thing. But if you're after hardcore dungeon crawling, SoZ is not really the game to play. I really like the campaign but most dungeons are very small. Hells Bells Star, you have a way of dampening a good party, I was really enjoying the thought of Zecorian's Demesne
  9. 12 for Charisma, thats blasphemy !!! I would have thought you were at least an 18
  10. Do you imagine that ? Lest say we have a situation ... 3 weeks before PE ending and game is about to relese : And Avellone or Sewyer in "Update 1376930" No Anger option. Your character will not have an anger emotion as possibility ... becouse we discoverd that baing angry at someone is not so funny and the anger mechanics and expierience for playing this type of person is simply exaggerated by most players. We also worked on Friendship and respect as an "option" but we decided that this will brake immersion for the game and in general is only for ego-stroking and if you want to make some friends go outside for example a park. and 1 week before reliese "Update 1376933" Yes we add two handed- fighting, we add posibility of having two spears the same time, two pistols at the same time. Wewe also add 20 more levels to mega dungeon and make very big stronghold (with armie and possibility of economics). We also dismisst an option for "sadnes" in game. The Gods forbade people to be sad becouse it interfere with their "SOUL-Based" big plan. We also dismist a sadnes becouse the "sadness" mechanics are mosty exaggerated by most (who want to be sad ?) but we add 20 lore levels to mega dungeon to make you happy ! YeaY !! Last update "Update 1376934" HI California ! and the rest of the world .... We have finished ! YEAH ! Big WHOOOO! We ad and option for a player to have a DOG ! Huraay! We also give you some information about Aumaua ... yes they can have two two-handed swords at same time. And we add nev "Orlan" special abilytys. We also removed the whole "Talking" part of the game. We discovert that there are no need for characters to talk. You can simply join them to your party by giving them 50 gold. You are still able to make "Battle-orders" the best part of talking part of the game. You can still make orders like "Give me that ****" or "Healer ! Healer ! i need Healer !" we also add 20 levels on mega-dungeon and make a "Crafting ability" Yeah ! We removed "talking" from game becouse we discoverd that most players exaggerated this type of mechanics. We also discoverd that it was not so funny. We discoverd that if you want "To talk" in a game you simply can go to other room and talk to you mom or dad ... mayby call to some friends. We don't need such a minor addon in our game ... But we have 80 levels of mega-dungeon ! yeay lest be happy ! Mayby im also exaggerating in my ironic joke but i believe you got the point Your post made me laugh
  11. http://linuxgamenews.biz/2012/11/01/an-interview-with-chris-avellone-on-project-eternity-a-word-on-romance/ FYI that took me 5 secs to find on google with the search terms "Chris Avellone romance interview" Thanks for this, but we know that this is just his opinion and it doesn't mean Romance\Sex is out of PE. I still am waiting for official confirmation from Obsidian which we will get
  12. NO ! If romance will be left out wats next ? Friendship ? Anger ? aaaaah You have raised a good point, we take the risk of possibly removing other forms of party interaction and emotion if we remove Romance. The game may become too clinical, which would be horrible
  13. Judging all TV shows like "Here comes Honey Boo Boo" or (Insert Jersey reality show) is just plain stupid. I do have to chastise you for not including Dexter on your list however, that show is excellent. Most of my time is spent studying, working out, or other things, so I have a hard time catching most good television programs. The only thing I loyally watch is Doctor Who. Seriously whats the purpose a show like "Here comes Honey Boo Boo" ? I could only stomach watching it for 20 minutes, it made me nauseous
  14. I've noticed on quite a few forums with some people deriding TV shows in general, probably due to reality TV, but there is an abundance of good shows to watch. I have a tendency to focus on a about 5 or 6 tv shows every week as they air, and then catch up on other shows with a series marathon during a week or weekend when they're nearing or finished for the season. I did that recently with Spartacus and did a Season 3 marathon and watched it over two nights. My next marathon I started this week is Once Upon A Time as it's nearing it's season finale. I agree, we are spoilt by choice on TV series You are one of the few people I know that also watches some of the unusual shows, like Once Upon a Time Oh I think you may have missed one. Have you seen Justified? If not please watch it. Its the best "cop" show I have ever seen and my 3rd favorite TV series of all time
  15. That interesting, I was always under the impression the main reason for Beta testing was to report bugs to the Dev's. But I have never done it before so what you are saying also makes sense.
  16. Either way, I couldn't give a ****. In fact, I think I'm at the point of giving negative 10 ****s. Whatever happens, the fallout is sure to be spectacular. That would be an egregious mistake if Romance is left out. And if that happens I'll....I'll...I'll sulk, yes I'll sulk. So THERE Obsidian !!!!
  17. An impressive list, I loved Banshee. I recommend it to all, its very violent and HBO really knows how to create a prison fight scene. The albino in the prison must one of scariest antagonists I have ever seen. " hello my friend, I have missed you"
  18. "you're basically one of the most charming, strongest and intelligent people alive on the planet" You never know, Kaine may be
  19. @ Malcador I know all this information can be a little daunting but allow me to let you know whats relevant and whats nonsense. I don't want you to worry about anything unless I tell you its real. . By the way whats with this terrorist plot thats was stopped in Canada? Something about an attempt to blow up a bridge
  20. I am one of those people who have absolutely no interest in Beta testing a game, in fact I can't understand why people would do it as I believe it ruins the excitement when you play the full releases. But of course I appreciate people that do Beta test and allow for the game to be more stable
  21. That's my point. They've never done a RTS before. Why dismiss them so easily when we don't know their skills yet? All great RTS designers started with their first game. Give them a chance. I never knew you did reviews, if you don't mind me asking who do you do reviews for ?
  22. Unless you're the most charming genius athlete in your country, I'd say some of the other stats are a bit off too. heh Amazing how good a bit of editing can make you look
  23. Something to consider is did the lockdown in Boston make sense? Was it necessary? The primary objective of terrorists is to spread terror and disrupt the lives of countries that they target, in a way the lockdown was something they probably wanted as it caused major impact to the daily lives of ordinary citizens. Also the second brother was noticed by an observant citizen, not the police or due to the lockdown. Isn't it better for people to continue with there lives but to be aware of possible suspects. Life should continue as normal within reason, thats how you defeat terrorism? I am not saying if the lockdown was completely wrong, I am merely raising the principle of what is the best course of action when these tragedies strike
