The only way to avoid nude mods is to have no modding potential. Someone will do it, and it will be hilariously pathetic, awkward, and one of the top 5 PoE downloads from Nexus. You'd think someone with such a vivid imagination could construct the whole deviant scenario in their head. Funny enough that's true, I've used "intense" adult mods in games like FO:NV that includes full nudity, extra dialogue lines and enhanced sexual actions but I don't do it for real life sexual gratification. You do it for the RP experience. In other words if you consider your character is living in this post-apocalyptic world where mankind has been wiped out and death awaits at every corner you don't think he is also going to have sex with prostitutes and lecherous women. If your character can indiscriminately slaughter bandits and mutants he can also have enhanced, adult sex experiences. I don't consider sex as deviance. Sorry But for me if I wanted really get some kind of sexual gratification through the Internet I would go to an Adult entertainment website. I don't think people use Adult mods because they "want to get there rocks off"

Was he doing it during the beta? I did it a couple days beforehand and it downloaded in a couple hours with no problems. You should see the looks on peoples faces when they realize he is a she. "Does that make me sexist?" No it doesn't but Hurlshot has some serious soul searching to do

It was an amusing pass time in the lead up to the Olympics. I have my start pages set to major news outlets and I haven't seen any mention of Russian toilets in Sochi for about a week. That's a very valid point. I watch Sky, BBC and CNN primarily and I haven't seen the toilet incident mentioned since the beginning of the games

Interesting perspective, its good to hear another view apart from Oby I'm sorry it seems we are always attacking Russia but for me its about decline in human rights that concerns me the most.

I had Pork Chops with my homemade Barbeque sauce and a nice healthy salad instead of mash potatoes tonight. I enjoyed the salad, it was a good alternative.

You know how I said to drink rehydration salts, and consider the possibility your feeling better was just your awareness breaking... Never mind, I guess you learned the same way I did. Fevers are the reason I don't do drugs. I have to give you credit here Walsie, you did call it. Good comments earlier and accurate

No romances confirmed
BruceVC replied to C2B's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
Speaking of hiding from the "facts", can you provide a link to these polls? I'd like to see if it was an unbiased poll of randomly selected gamers or a self-selected group who have a particular interest in elements of romance. Thanks. I know you'll think the polls were biased, but you can find them all if you do an Advanced Search on the PoE forums. Use the key words " Romance Poll". There are about 7-8 topics that will come up that you can read -

Critical error detected; reformatting user's brain to conform with reality. Please stand by. That made me laugh But its true if you look at all the polls, I would say it was constantly at about 65-70 % of people who wanted some form of Romance...we can't hide from facts guys....we can't hide from the facts -
Monte I can guarantee you that you are going to be one of those people who will really miss Romance when you realize it doesn't exist in PoE....but by then it will be too late
-
You can always play out pretend romances with the characters in your head. Heck, you can even use props like dolls or action figures. You can make it work, I have faith in you, Bruce. Don't give up Bruce Start an online petition or something, call a congressman. Make your voice be heard okay those comments made me laugh

Guys most of you have probably heard the bad news by now that it appears there will be no Romance in PoE That's fine, we can deal with it and I'm confidant PoE will still be a thoroughly engaging and entertaining RPG. But this disappointment does make DA:I even more appealing than it already is

Excellent idea Kaine, when can we expect your first Mod around a Romance offering in PoE ? -

Every time this comes up I shake my head. The community on here isn't representative of the backer base for PoE. Pretending otherwise is silly. Honestly, you can't even really say that the polls, given the totally slapdash method in which they're conducted, are even representative of this community. Okay so without several polls on the official Obsidian website, like we had, how would you determine if fans of PoE want some sort of Romance...or if they are opposed to it? What would be your method if company wants to see if a particular component should be implemented in a game? -

BruceVC replied to C2B's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
Seems like the majority of POE fans are ecstatic about this fantastic design decision. Nah, all the polls clearly showed that the majority of fans wanted some form of Romance. Don't mistake vociferous anti-romance zealots with what the majority of fans want. But its not the end of the world, I'll get my Romance fix from DA:I and I'll still play and enjoy PoE- 562 replies

This is bad news and concerns me immensely. I am one of those that believes Romance adds to the realism and immersive aspect of your journey in an RPG. Especially around your interaction with party members. Also I don't understand why Obsidian wouldn't want to include something in PoE that the majority of fans want But I still don't know if its official, if it is maybe we can get confirmation from someone from Obsidian that this is there view and nothings going to change it. I am still excited about PoE but I would be lying if I said I wasn't disappointed -
We didn't say anything when they came for the smokers...
BruceVC replied to Walsingham's topic in Way Off-Topic
That was a joke, chief. I had hoped it was obvious. I wouldn't like to see the sort of milking machine that would be required to suck fat out of people, but I'd imagine it would be rather more dystopian than the current government would like to be involved with. Everybody seems to be making the same argument (you should be responsible for your own actions with minimal nannying) and then getting hung up on the details. I have learnt on these forums that never assume people will know you are joking, try to use or to indicate a joke or a partly joking statement- 165 replies

Zor I don't care what anyone says but I really think you looked cool and sexy in your Isabela cosplay outfit, so don't worry about the haters. I support your right for self-expression and support for the DA gaming world !!!

Monte I have absolute confidence that Bioware will deliver a worthwhile and entertaining RPG in the shape of DA:I ( of course this is relevant to the individual as personally I enjoyed DA2 but I agree there are improvements that need to be made ) So what I would be asking myself if I was you is " what am I going to do when my faith is restored in Bioware" ..is it possible that we will see a new and improved Monte who believes that unicorns dance on rainbows ??

But isn't there an argument around people who end up getting cancer through smoking being a burden on a countries healthcare system which is either funded through taxes or medical aid? So in fact you do end up paying for someone else's bad health decisions?- 165 replies

"You are so open-minded I think your brain might fall out" I do find you really funny at times, this is another topic we just have to agree to disagree on

I find them both ludicrous and tragic at the same time. Poking fun at them amuses me greatly. Cosplayers and Bioware, together, creating a huge swirling maelstrom of emo lameness. Even my intense enuii at the early 21st Century is lightened by their folly. Your point? I appreciate your honesty, all I can say is how would you feel if there were people on a forum that you were active on that were insulting or dismissive towards something that you enjoyed? You probably wouldn't care because you are comfortable with what you enjoy and its irrelevant to you what some virtual faceless person on a forum thinks. But this type of criticism can be hurtful and create unnecessary acrimony as not everyone is as confident in there views and hobbies as you are.

I'm not sure how creating a dress pattern for cosplayers to go home to stitch, sew and use their sewing machine is part of the mechanics of a game. Dual wielding, cool downs and now dress patterns for cosplayers are now equal. And it's a bit much to say people are shaming them. All I see is some fun being poked at Bioware for releasing dress patterns which you would probably buy at a haberdashery shop or something similar. Merchandising is great for video game developers/publishers like selling t-shirts, cups, hats, and all sorts of stuff. It's just something new to see a video game developer/publisher also create dress patterns. There is a veiled and insulting undertone towards people that have chosen to partake in this type of support for DA from some of the comments in this thread. But all I can say is his post summarizes once again my view on this topic. I don't think I can add more than what he has said. I can particularly identify with the subjective nature of what people consider " weird" or "geeky" when it comes to what we enjoy but other people consider is ridiculous For example, have you ever tried to explain to people who don't game why its important you attend a guild meeting for a MMO that you actively participate in? They think its absurd. "so what you doing on Sunday afternoon?" "Well I'm busy with my guild, we have a very important meeting" " but what do you mean a guild..its just a game ...surly you not suggesting a game is more important than meeting your friends for a drink" "no its not that, its the principle. I need to vote on a decision that effects how dozens behave in the game" "yes but its not real, who cares if you are in this guild meeting" "well I do consider what I do in my personal time as time not wasted so I need to contribute towards something that will impact that how I spend my personal time" " yes but surly real life commitments are more important' "yes they are but that doesn't change the fact that people in this guild expect me to be in the meeting' "but its just a game " And so it goes on

Are you absolutely certain about this? I've seen pics of your arms. ;D
