  1. Oh, I'm sure your work is more valuable (for a given definition of valuable) to your company than another dude's work whose contribution stops at "can swing a hammer", I just find the notion of "40 times as valuable" questionable unless you're some sort of super-genius inventor type whose work literally can't be replicated by anyone else in the world. I hear what you saying and you right. A person doesn't want to come across as elitist and dismissive of people who earn less money than them and the reasons they earn less money will be due to a number of factors Sharps biggest problem is how he sometimes creates his sentences and makes a point, he comes across a certain way that I think is misunderstood or lost a little in translation. Because I also agree with him that why must a person fell guilty or not reap the financial benefits of working hard? But you should never really compare a labourers job description to someone in corporate, both are important but obviously the person in corporate is probably more educated and will earn more money ?
  2. I hear you, that is true
  3. Go be a commie somewhere else. Proper wealth distribution my ass, we went through this crap. No one had anything, now I'm sitting beside a computer with a cold drink with my secretary with big **** under my desk and 40 workers that don't earn as much as me combined. This is the only way to live my friend. I agree with Sharp_One that I don't see wealth distribution as a solution or something that would benefit society in the long term but I also don't think its fair that people with money do at times seem to get a better deal within the justice systems of various countries because they can afford very good lawyers Of course I'm not suggesting that wealthy people can necessarily get away with egregious crimes just because they are rich
  4. What are you talking about? Cosby is infamous for how horribly he treated cast and crew. I think he means his contribution towards the entertainment industry and as mentioned previously his endeavours to achieve racial harmony
  5. Yeah welcome to the forums
  6. And I think the accusations are fake. They accuse him now after all this years when he is old and probably want's some peace of mind to grab an easy dollar. There is no evidence now, just word against word so it practically is an media case and media can either convict him or make him innocent because of the jury system in US. That's the unfortunate reality of these allegations, they have been levelled against Cosby for years. These are not new accusations. He also settled a case out of court a few years ago, I don't like to assume but this seems like a real case of " where there is smoke there is fire"
  7. No I don't. I'm not american. From a brief check on the guy I vaguely remember some sitcom that was aired in TV but really long ago so I don't remember. I thought he is some american celebrity from your comment on him. Now I checked the article you reffered and I know he is not what i thought. Bill Cosby is an American Icon; above some petty celebrity. If he is indeed guilty; it will be a large blow to our culture. He was the guy who convinced many racists that black people are just trying to get along like the rest of us. His was a great American sitcom that put a black family in a positive light, and his show was funny/family friendly. I'll be very sad if the allegations are true. :( Agreed, he did a lot in his own way for race relations But I don't think his actions should diminish his contribution towards the greater cause of racial harmony
  8. No I don't. I'm not american. From a brief check on the guy I vaguely remember some sitcom that was aired in TV but really long ago so I don't remember. I thought he is some american celebrity from your comment on him. Now I checked the article you reffered and I know he is not what i thought. Yes he is an American celebrity? He was\is a much respected comedian And yes you right, you probably know him from the Cosby Show
  9. Isn't that a standard procedure in any democratic law system to give a benefit of a doubt to ALL people regardles of the accusation before trial? I don't know who Bill is, but if a rich white guy is being accused of rape then there is a change in the world. You don't know who Bill Cosby is? He is considered one of the worlds best comedians. But I don't understand your point about a " rich white guy is being accused of rape "....what do you mean?
  10. There is an entire article that raises some interesting points, you don't need to agree with everything the journalist says But to seemingly dismiss everything because of one comment....it doesn't seem reasonable?
  11. You see this is the type of response that is unhelpful to this debate Lets try to have this discussion outside the context of GG I am raising the issue of how as a society we seem to almost ignore allegations of rape and certain bad behaviour when it comes celebrities. And it begs the question "why " I doubt anyone outside of showbiz could have gotten away with this type of behaviour for so long as Cosby if he wasn't famous? And Jimmy Saville is another example
  12. http://edition.cnn.com/2014/11/20/opinion/hill-bill-cosby-case-rape-culture/index.html?hpt=hp_c3 This article raises 6 thought provoking and sobering points around the culture of rape that exists in certain levels of society Most of us should be aware of the various rape allegations through the years directed towards Bill Cosby. Personally I didn't want to really believe it but the latest accusations have made me look at him in a different and more critical light This whole Cosby furore raises some interesting and pertinent societal questions. Like "do we seem to give celebrities more leeway around these types of crimes" Do we assume any allegation "can't be true, the person claiming it must just want money ". One of the reasons is we probably think "how could Cosby be a habitual rapist when he has everything he wants and surly doesn't need to rape any women" It reminds of the antics of the depraved Jimmy Saville who for years was able to abuse young women and basically got away with it because of his celebrity status There is some good news, I believe we live in a era where this type of crime is less and less likely to be ignored. So it makes no difference if you are a celebrity or not...you will be prosecuted Anyway I grew up watching the Cosby show so I'm genuinely disappointed in what I believe are real charges that Bill Cosby needs to face and account for.
  13. I finished SR4 last night and its a very entertaining game, a solid 65/100 I really admire the way the Developers were able to design very unique side-quests and parts of the main quest. Like when you freed Johnny Gat from the computer, I was constantly surprised about the variation of challengers that were thrown at you . Also they were able to create a "believable " way for you have super powers in the simulation End of the day I still prefer the GTA type of living world design that is "realistic, in other words no jumping over buildings but SR4 is a very good game and well worth the money I spent
  14. Shame I'm laughing at some of the bugs experienced, I'm not laughing at peoples frustration or the fact that there are bugs but rather how strange some of them are I see one guy is experiencing the gender bug where everyone is treating his male character as female and this is impacting his Romance arc. I can just imagine how annoying this must be having this alpha male designed character being hit on by every male member in your party where applicable
  15. Yeah good point, I find the statements of radical feminists equally offensive I still am shocked by the whole " consensual sex is the same as rape " on that radical feminist blog It seems like radical feminist are more concerned with controlling women than liberating women from gender based oppression. Yeah, there motives confuse me I would like to meet a radical fem one day ( I don't know any) and genuinely find out what is the objective of the movement. I imagine like all these types of movements there are different interpretations of what radical feminism stands for?
  16. Yeah good point, I find the statements of radical feminists equally offensive I still am shocked by the whole " consensual sex is the same as rape " on that radical feminist blog
  17. Why? I can understand someone questioning gender equality and the various mediums that represent it and if they are effective But that link is just trash...what possible outcome does the writer think he is going to achieve by being so completely dismissive, its basically unashamed misogyny
  18. A quick primer to redpill. I might need brain bleach now, thank you very much. Wow is this link for real? Or is it some kind of parody It contains some of the most uninformed and sexist comments I have ever read about gender equality....he can't be serious ?
  19. You keep "claiming " you have no issue with gay people yet you constantly feel the need to bring up the fact that Gaider is gay and how this has influenced Bioware Then you use some strange logic that because Bioware is inclusive around there relationships somehow this is "intolerant " Your entire perspective is contradictory
  20. Nah he has engaged a bit, not like you. At least I have seen him pop up with stuff with Wu or Alexander or Cheong. Was waiting for him to descend on this thread with a sermon, actually, once DAI went live. Always thought redpill stuff was just guys seeing women as machines to game to get expected payouts. I suppose such sociopathic thinking is effective these days, moral issues aside. Alan is a very formidable debating adversary but he also makes his points in very reasonable way He makes loads of sense and is very informed, people could learn a lot from his insights
  21. Mmmm maybe because he has different tastes and likes a wide variety of games? Myself i grew up on the final fantasy/secret of mana/chrono trigger series and then tes series and for the longest time thought morrowind (hint-still do) one of the most amazing rpgs ever made and never even touched crpgs when i threw money at obsidian for their kickstarter. Hell the ones i tried i didnt even like but fonv impressed me so much thay i just threw money at them. just because Bruce loves a good romance story and loves bioware games doesnt mean he wouldnt enjoy a good obsidian game even if it didnt have romance in it. i seem to be on the opposite point of view with Bruce alot but cmon, no need to call out someone on tastes as theres no problem if the same person loves BG2, DA2, and Hello Kitty island( not saying he does but it wouldnt be a problem if he did). Different people, different tastes. Lets keep it civil we have been a good behavior so far for awhile lol no need to end it This is basically my exact response, good post I like a wide range of RPG and Romance doesn't even factor in to whether I buy a particular RPG. Its great if its there and enhances the party interaction but I don't buy games based on there Romance implementation
  22. I can empathize with that type of mistake, I mean well but sometimes I change a recipe or do something different and it doesn't really compliment the overall taste
  23. Nice link, looks like some excellent recipes
  24. And until you define what you mean by "prominent GGer", this question remains unanswerable. Is Davis "women in our society have become the most decadent sluts since the fall of Rome" Aurini, a self-identified gamergater, co-creator of The Sarkeesian Effect, with a Patreon that managed to gather nearly 10k dollars of gamergater money, prominent enough? Is Milo "you get your **** out for a living, don't tell me how to do my job" Yiannopoulos, also self-identified gamergater prominent enough? I notice Longknife has been conveniently ignoring this point from you, hopefully he will respond now
  25. TIME magazine did a poll for most loathed word, feminism won. Now the claim is it was a "small bias sample" and doesn't accurately represent the mentality of the people. I've no idea how large the sample was but I'd hardly consider TIME's readership to be naturally bias towards anti-feminism... http://www.pbs.org/newshour/rundown/time-apologizes-including-feminist-poll-words-ban/ As usual you don't understand a situation, get your facts straight please before make these " great statements of outrage" Its was TIME membership who complained about the fact " feminism " was in the list. And TIME magazine agreed. So they removed it, its not to understand because that's what there members wanted
