  1. Okay I relented and bought the Mount & Blade series on GOG, its an excellent price
  2. "Best game ever. The romances were so well done I even kissed my monitor ?" -BruceVC "Too much romance and not enough fighting in tunnels" - Monte Carlo "Better than Twitcher3" - Hoon Ding Talking about Monte where has he been?
  3. So wait, it's the truth "purely because putting God of War's combat into every RPG would be a terrible decision"? Because, if it's not, then methinks you didn't get the point. No one's arguing that romance is necessary in an RPG. Lephys is right Stun, we know that Romance is not necessary. But it enhances the interaction between party members
  4. Not free but you get 75% off the whole series, I've never played these games. Should I buy them...how would you describe them?
  5. Great comment...very funny I love your enthusiasm when you are excited about a game, its infectious
  6. Enoch please listen to me, don't play DA:I straight away. Wait a month or so before you play it, that's what I'm doing. Its the most prudent course of action, trust me on this one
  7. If that's an attempt to put us off Romance....it almost succeeded
  8. Yes you are spot on, most people acknowledge that Bioware can improve on that type of Romance implementation
  9. We've made our people aware of better alternatives, which means even when this ends we'll never ever be looking at reviews from the sites we're fighting now, we've gotten a few sites I expect we'd otherwise be fighting to adapt acceptable ethics policies, though we've yet to see if they follow them, and we're bleeding the sites we're fighting of advertisers by showing the advertisers what terrible people they are. We've accomplished part 1 of the 3 things I said we needed to accomplish regarding games journalism, we're well on our way with part two, I haven't seen much work on part 3 yet, but part 3 is the hard part. Okay and just be clear what are the better alternatives when it comes to gaming websites? As you know I use websites like RPS and Gamasutra but if there are other options that offer the same information I would be interested in hearing what they are. ( And of course there are dozens of gaming websites but I am looking for the ones endorsed by GG ) And final point question apart from Intel and Gamasutra what advertising has been pulled from any particular website due to the endeavours of GG?
  10. Sheikh I'm surprised you are asking " why do people like Romance" When someone asks that question I tend to think " well if you are genuinely unsure then you probably won't understand " ....but then I realize..." No of course he will understand, someone just needs to explain it to him" So let me give you my Romance synopsis Romance is part of the interaction aspect with your party members. But it offers more than just getting to know your party members. It gives us a more realistic and immersive aspect to interaction. Romance allows us to build a certain bond with party members in a RP perspective. As I have often said imagine a scenario where you are on this epic quest to save the world from some sort of diabolical entity where everyday could be your last, you have this group of people who are prepared to die for, you face daily tribulations and there is a mutual attraction between yourself and someone else. Now you spend many nights around a campfire reflecting on the days trials..why wouldn't Romance flourish or at least be a consideration ? I maintain this is completely normal and to be expected when it comes to human emotions. That's why I like Romance in RPG, it adds to the realism and depth around the overall RPG experience
  11. I think Sarex's point is that it's higher than their DA:I score which is indeed rather funny because even BioWare grudgingly admitted they had cut corners in DA2 and with DA:I they're supposedly going "all-out". I understand his point but the DA2 review was 3 years ago and wasn't made by the same person as the DA:I review So we can't assume the DA:I review is inaccurate even if its the same website
  12. That does seem a bit high for a DA 2 review
  13. http://www.pcgamer.com/dragon-age-inquisition-review/ Here is a good review...worth reading
  14. Never !!!!! Don't underestimate the indomitable and indefatigable spirit of the promancer !!! We never say die
  15. Very impressive, how much weight have you lost ? I've lost, uh...lost? Replace lost with gained and I might be able to answer your question! That's strange, it sounds like you are eating very healthily....and weight loss is 70-80 % diet?
  16. Very impressive, how much weight have you lost ?
  17. Volo did you ever consider the fact that the only reason you exist is that we allow you to do so? Every story needs a villain Volo..and you just happen to be that villain How else would us SJW go to sleep at night without someone like you to blame for the decay and moral turpitude of the society we live in .....
  18. Says ex CEO of Gawker. Seriously, money raised for charities, raising collective awareness of what the SJW are doing to video games, finally we get something that resembles a discussion about sexism vs freedom of speech. Also, there is no going back, gamers have crossed the Rubicon, there is no way that this ends with gamers going back to reading about how games are misogynistic on Kotaku. Okay that's some relevant developments around GG, I didn't think about those outcomes I'm not sure I agree with them but my question wasn't directed towards myself but rather what supporters of GG think
  19. Is it not possible that the game could be deserving of 8/10? Not all reviews are about some inflated score due to some ulterior motive which I still don't understand
  20. There's a difference between words hurting you, and words making you think "Yeah, **** those guys who said that.". There's a difference between personally not going somewhere because you're unhappy with the code of conduct at the place and getting government to force the place to change. The issue with the games media is that it writes out biased reviews, either filled with sjw bs or corporate bribery, that's it's crowded with arrogant aholes like Leigh Alexander who deserve to be dethroned and left in the mud, that it's floating in corruption and lacks any form of standards, that it has far to much control on which indie titles make their way into the greater public. The gamers are dead articles are an excellent example of arrogant aholes like Leigh Alexander being hypocrites, a great example of collusion, I personally don't feel they're a great example of gamers being harassed though, We're promoting better alternatives to the horrid games journalism sites we're at war with, that should help fix problem A, we're showing advertisers how horrible these people are, that should quicken the fall of the people I want to see fall, I haven't really seen much to better the communication between the indie scene and the regular gamers, but that'll come along eventually I guess. So the whole GG scandal began 3 months ago, what would you say are its biggest achievements so far ? In other words how would you dispute a view that said " GG hasn't accomplished much and never will "
  21. You right, I should have done something. But I don't think it really featured today in the South African media. I am not trying to completely absolve my own negligence around forgetting the significance of today. But if your own media doesn't seem to remember something you are more likely to forget it ?
  22. Well, it's not that they don't matter, but you shouldn't be hurt by it. Additionally, it doesn't really say you should not strike back, either. But as you believe they do matter, aren't these GG people you're referring to correct in your view ? I have always maintained that words on the Internet can be hurtful and create contention So yes you are right, I can understand how people got annoyed by what Leigh Alexander said. The issue though with GG, for me, is that it has evolved to something much more than just people taking exception to what some gaming journalists said.
  23. Come on guys this old view that " words don't matter and you must just ignore them because its the Internet" is so pre-GG its actually hilarious that on this very thread people are making that point and expecting the rest of us to believe it One of the foundations of the creation of GG is about the insult associated with the word "gamers" and the outrage and offense that certain gamers felt. So lets stop suggesting that words are irrelevant because that's not how most of you who support GG have been acting
  24. Holy Smoke !!! I totally forget it was Armistice Day today....my bad
  25. You right, I don't think I could handle another lamergate thread
