    Gee that's a surprise, so is this still considered the solid victory that you were expecting from the outcome of GG? This apologetic response was inevitable. Considering the fact the perception that exists around GG. As I mentioned in previous posts corporations don't like to be associated with people or organisations that are in any way in contempt of social justice issues, its a bad image for them. So rightly or wrongly GG has a perception of being sexist purely because most prominent feminist are opposed to it But good find by the way, this is an interesting link

    I think they are delaying the release because they want to include Romance, it makes sense if you think about all the support for it

    Questions like that can never inappropriate I still want to pursue the relationship but I have to be a little cautious because of the whole work dynamic. So right now we are good friends and that is working fine for me. She also has a 5 year old daughter who is awesome and very cute but I need to be certain this is what I want because I don't want to mess her around emotionally, I hope this makes sense and doesn't make me sound shallow?

    Hardly. Well its definitely an indictment to a countries government , and a serious one. But its not a questions of refusing but rather being ineffectual The Ebola virus that is spreading through Western Africa wouldn't haven't happened in most other countries because institutions exist that would have quite quickly put steps in place to prevent the spread. But in these African countries there is a breakdown of what most of you would consider normal and working state departments whose job it is to address these types of events

    I watched the video and I found it terribly misplaced, it misrepresents many areas of how governments work and function. I basically reject most of the comments in the video as its really anti-Western propaganda and an attack on how our government function, all that video does is raise the bad. Some of things that were utterly preposterous were The analogy that Statism is a religion. You cannot prove a religion and its not tangible, its about faith. You see your government, you can interact with them. Its not a belief, governments and states are real and exist and we can engage with politicians. To try to suggest that Statism is the worst and most extreme form of religion is complete nonsense The suggestion that abiding by the rules makes you a slave? You don't have to like your government but you need to pay your taxes as you need to contribute towards the society that you live in. If you don't like that go and live in the mountains and live off the grid like some hermit These types of great "revelations " are normally raised by people who live in first world countries who use it as some kind of pseudo-intellectual argument to explain how terrible there lives are on countries that millions of people would love to immigrate to If you don't agree with the concepts of states and governments I would encourage you to travel through Africa and see what happens to countries that don't have effective governments. See how people live and die in complete poverty and see how the aspirations of people, who just want water, electricity and a future for there children, are never achieved I'm a proud and unrepentant believer in Statism because it works, its as simple as that

I know that and you know that so please can we downplay the expected venting from these types of developments Some of the Twitter comments made me laugh, such outrage and theatrics. The comments around Witcher 3 really made me chuckle " its about rape " ..and then the comment "Jesus " Imagine having a debate with some of those people and trying to explain Bethesda Adult Mods , it wouldn't be pleasant

    That would be pretty sweet, Kuchera could end up writing for some meaningless paper or hock crap e-books and Rex would...well most likely hang himself. You are ok with people using their free speech to squeeze businesses where it hurts to get them to obey, as long as it's line with you - so why is this an issue ? Am I really okay with that young grasshopper? Please produce the links that suggest how companies have stopped advertising on websites that don't support SJ initiatives and how I have supported that? The difference between me and you is I don't want a website to close just because it criticizes me or makes a certain ideological stand. Like RPGCodex, I think it needs serious moderation but I don't want the website to close. Some of you actually want advertisers to stop supporting certain websites because " they have said nasty things about gamers" Its really is absurd when you look at it from outside. And I get told " I'm the one who doesn't understand free speech"...that's rich

    Volo I'm extremely disappointed in your post, I always thought you believed in free speech. But it appears you don't. Its not going to happen but lets say all advertisers due to pressure from GG do pull out from a website like Gamasutra and they close down (as I said its highly unlikely but lets say it happens) Basically what you are advocating is because a website doesn't believe what you believe it should be put out of business. This is fascism and hubris of the worst degree, how are you going to sleep at night knowing you support an organisation (GG) that is so intolerant ? I don't agree with radical feminists but I don't think there websites should be closed down just because of what they believe

    Okay I think I get it, so fundamentally you guys are opposed to the fascist and dismissive nature of feminists and others trying to influence gaming websites and impacting on free speech with there own narrative of social justice issues. But as long as GG is able to implement a similar change using the same strategy as the hated feminists and force sponsors to leave websites that you don't like that is considered a solid victory? Glad you cleared that up What is the end goal of GG? That every website that ever supported Zoe, Anita or raised a feminist issue should close down due to lack of sponsor support ? Free speech is awesome, as long as it aligns with your views

So you and I are the same person and you were completely unaware of it, let it not be said that schizophrenia doesn't have its advantages. We\I will always have someone to talk to....you/I will never be alone. There is definitely something beneficial about that

    I'm confused, how is this a victory for GG? I would think a victory is people actually supporting the GG movement and not just being concerned about it? Your article clearly says "However, nowhere in this email does it say, or even imply, that Intel supports the GamerGate movement. Anyone who says so is reading more into the email than what is there. At most, this is Intel trying to stay out of the way as the controversy surrounding GamerGate seems to continue growing. The most some can take away from this is that Intel sees this as a significant issue and controversy because they obviously looked into the issue before sending this email. Whether they agree with GamerGate or not is still up for debate, though Intel’s likely best course of action is to remain neutral to not invoke the ire of any group interested in GamerGate"

    The fact that Iraq has said they don't want USA troops within there country means nothing, they also said in 2011 when the USA pulled out that it was great day and that they would determine there own destiny. Now 3 years later they have needed US assistance to deal with a issue caused primarily by mismanagement of sections of there own population

    To actually send USA ground troops to a place like a Iraq for a sustained period of time has huge logistical implications, these include Where would they be based? What about daily supplies? What about the USA heavy machinery? Where would it be kept? Considering the fact ISIS is spread through large parts of Iraq Would ground troops now cross the border into Syria? This alone opens another can of worms But the most obvious point that this is not a good idea is that ISIS and other people will use this as a justification around " how the USA is invading Iraq again" The USA has only just disentangled itself from Iraq and "boots on the ground " campaign . It doesn't want to go back that route

    Well if you were Obama what else would you do differently? Why do you think these are half-measures. For example the USA could send ground troops to Iraq if they really motivated this course of action. But that doesn't make sense from a logistical and historical perspective. I still think its prudent to supply weapons to USA friendly forces, like the Kurds, and use airpower to bomb ISIS, when they can, back to the stone-age

If you didn't notice I didn't call for complete stop for these "rants", I asked to keep the forum clean from spam. Anyone else feels like the quality of this forum has taken a bit of a dip resently? Because I do. For me there have been a few threads that have been negatively impacting the overall quality of the forums, number one on my list is the Patriarchy thread But end of the day it becomes subjective around what is considered quality posts. I still believe people should post something they consider interesting if they don't like what others are posting and more importantly just not post in a thread that they think is silly and banal, which is exactly why I don't post in the Patriarchy thread
