If you don't mind sharing how did he walk free? Seems like the evidence wasn't conclusive enough. Some things got screwed up in the photos that were taken when she went to the emergency room right after the rape occured, a mistake on the medical staff's part which is of course really sour. There was also something other thing. I wasn't able to be a the trial so I've just gotten messages from my girlfriend who was there. The woman's lawyer was quite surprised at the outcome though as it seemed to be a really strong case overall. In about a week's time, they're gonna decide if they want to take it to the "higher court" (not sure what the term is in english/american) and try there. I guess the worst thing is that just going through with the trial was an enormous and traumatic effort for the woman, and in the end it ended up being for nothing. Unless they take it further. We'll see I suppose. Yeah that makes sense, I think she is very brave. It is a very difficult thing both emotionally and mentally for any women to even go to court and follow the legal process and press charges I don't think it is something anyone can quite understand just how difficult it is unless you have personal experience.

Someone I know was raped just a few weeks ago...even went through having a rape kit done on them, which they said would be a slam dunk against the rapist. She refuses to go through with it, though, for reasons that are hard to accept for anyone besides actual victims. It's out of everyone's besides her hands, though. Like you, I'll also likely see them once in a while for reasons. :/ Its actually not hard to understand why many women don't follow through with wanting to charge there rapists and following the process like having a rape kit done

Doofus! lol For the record, I don't understand why the trivial amount (for most folks) that the xpac will cost is an issue. ...And if $30 at most is an issue for you, you have larger problems looming over you than the xpac for a computer game. :Cant's own huge grin icon: Yeah I agree, if you think about the amount of hours of entertainment you get from a game its well worth the investment I am about to finish GTAV and I have spent about 130 hours on this game....if you think about what my work charges out for me per hour as a software consultant which is about $150-200/hour I would say the $60 price is well worth it

Good question, I don't think there is one definitive answer to what makes someone an alcoholic as it will vary from person to person I am a binge drinker for example so when I drink I tend to drink loads but I can easily go 2 weeks without a single drink But I suppose the best definition for an alcoholic is where you are sober and you really start to crave alcohol to the point where there is a physiological impact ..like your hand is shaking or you are irritated or uneasy until you have a drink. So in other words the lack of alcohol in your system has a noticeable effect on your thinking

Just because that's the way I deal with approaching my mid-life crisis. Still, since I haven't actually posted in this thread in awhile, I suppose I should actually be somewhat serious. The cancer and continuing medical conditions finally hit their peak last week and my mother passed on in that grand journey. So it's been the running day by day juggling things with my father and sister to get everything sorted. Funeral plans and all the rest of that needed legal issues that result from bereavement. Now after having spent the last fifteen years as her carer, and having had that as a central piece of my life I have to re-figure who I am without that and where I'm going from here. I'm sorry Raithe, I want to say your commitment and diligence to your moms health has been nothing but impressive. I won't profess to know the details of your family structure but I don't think a son could do more for his family than you have done and I'm sure your mom was very grateful for everything you did especially in her final days

It's not what I would have done but it was probably the safest option available. Seeing that they had no actual speech or course of action and have since not used this publicity to actually make their point all they've done is made massive fools of themselves. If Sanders had done anything else it would've reflected worse on him. Sure, I see your point but where do we draw the line where a presidential candidate is not able to make a speech because they support liberal values ? So in other words I doubt this would have happened to a Republican candidate but since the Democrats are known to be supporters of the middle class and minorities on various levels it seems that people are just taking advantage of there more tolerant and reasonable view I don't think this makes Sanders look weak, I just think with all his anti-racism views it makes the people who disrupted the speech silly and I really have to question there credibility and general understanding of who is on the side of African Americans in the US political arena Out of all the candidates they could disrupt why choose him?
