I have an issue with associating with people who really think its okay to say " a good raping will sort her out " ...you see on the Codex that type of rhetoric is tolerated and that sometimes leads to people thinking that type of comment is acceptable outside the Codex. "I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it" - Evelyn Beatrice Hall Censorship is never a solution and is more often abused to silence dissenting opinion than for anything worthwhile. Ignoring people only takes a bit of willpower and then there are always technical solutions. Moreover visiting a forum also frequented by people with dissenting opinions surely doesn't mean you're "associating" with them any more than visiting a bar which is also frequented by members of the local fascist movement/biker gang/*insert socially unacceptable clique of people here*, especially if you stay away from their subforum/table...? Yes I agree, going to a particular forum doesn't mean you agree with the bigotry or controversial comments made by some of its members. My issue is with the overall Moderation policy of the Codex. Its not a indictment of all the people who frequent the website

Yeah, my siblings and I grew up in a situation like that. Decent mother (though not without her flaws, obviously)...sociopathic, depressed, abusive, neglectful, autistic, alcoholic (and then violent and psychotic) father. We all consequently have mental issues... My younger sister and I are probably the least affected of the worst of all of it, though...with the oldest (one of the two parents I've been talking about) being the worst affected, with basically everything my dad had passing down to them. The worst I got out of all that (...that I know of so far) was chronic depression that started when I was about 12 or 13 as well as pretty extreme autism. However, as bad as the autism started out (no talking of any sort whatsoever - not even gibberish - until I was about 3 and a half, being unable to cope with being outside, being unable to cope with foods touching each other - like...the pepperoni on the cheese of a pizza, as an example - being unable to eat most food in general or handle a lot of textures like satin or fuzzy stuff or chalk or...etc.), I've actually turned out...okay. I mean, I did just go dumpster diving yesterday - something I don't think I would've ever seriously considered for any reason whatsoever at any point before yesterday - after realizing I would have to to fix something stupid I did, so that says something, right? (edit): And yeah, the concept of wanting someone...anyone...dead - particularly someone I'm actually related to! - is a frightening one to me, especially since, as I've said on these forums before, death is my sum of all fears, and I'm generally a fairly extreme pacifist. But...I'm only human, and there's only so much I can take before realizing there needs to be a change, y'know? Guys I need to explain something important that I have come to realize I know most of you probably don't care but despite what you may think of my SJ views I try to be consistent and I am making this post as I was wrong about some of my initial views around GG or rather what you guys have been saying. So this is about the principle as I need to be honest for my own integrity So when the Alexander letter surfaced and GG started I didn't believe you were really feeling that white, male gamers were being targeted unfairly. I thought you were just resisting expected change. To be fair to me and considering where I live and the history of Apartheid in my country its pretty hard to get support if you say " I'm a white male and I'm being discriminated against in the new South Africa " (even though it happens ) and also the reality of the world and where most of you live white males still control the best positions in corporate and in politics and that is not something we need to feel ashamed about as other factors contribute towards that Anyway none of this really reflects your perception...and thats what matters. You felt you were being attacked and vilified ...and there have been direct attacks against white, male gamers. I have come to realize whether I feel that white, male gamers were being blamed is not the point. Our demographic should have the same respect as other groups I defend. Especially considering the fact most of you guys aren't hardcore SJ campaigners in RL , you are just normal people who happen to game. Its not your fault that the gaming fanbase is mostly your group. I don't think of any of you are bigots or sexists, even though they do exist within GG, yet what that initial Alexander letter did was suddenly make certain white, male gamers feel that they had done something wrong. I know what she meant and I know why she did it but it was the wrong strategy. Its not right in any SJ campaign to marginalize one group for the benefit of others...and I know this may sound contradictory as I live in South Africa but we are talking about the gaming industry here and not a system of law. You have to look at this in context and what should have been asked is "what about the normal white gamers who are just here to play games " its not like they have any influence in game design So what does this mean. I'm not joining GG but I do accept the letter was unhelpful and should not have been posted. End of the day this has created a real dichotomy where I feel there didn't have to be. I apologize for not understanding this. For me an important lesson has been sometimes blaming white people is fundamentally unfair where its not accurate. So SJ causes need to be consistent in there criticism or they do lose credibility

I did not say anything about nudity being wrong. I said it is weird to install a mod to make it happen. In Bethesda games it seems even stranger, since they have zero sexuality in them. It is like those nude news channels. That is a weird way to get your news. Anyways, there is nothing wrong with being weird you weirdos. Just admit it and enjoy yourself. Just to be clear you only use the nudity mods when you having sex which is normal ? But I was asking you specifically because I do really consider you a reasonable person based on your life experiences, your family and where you live and if you gave me a really good reason why adult mods were wrong it would be relevant But all Bethesda games have Romance and places like Brothels or there are hookers I'm sure ?

Following the weird conventions for Japanese localization, Secret of Mana is the second game in the series while Secret of Mana 3 (or 2) was never released on the states there was a relatively high profile translation project for the ROM version for emulators. Its a good game. I really need to learn Japanese lol. Very fond memories of SoM when I was young. Glad the others were good, and didn't fail like the second chrono trigger did......shivers What for? The game is translated already. You sure? We can wait for a Mod ?

I thought the background was that he used to be some sort of Nazi sympathizer on RPG Codex in his youth; then as an adult working in the games media became a dogmatic SJW; and at some point during GG quit SJWing and took a pretty reasonable-sounding "neutral/moderate" position. Which could be interpreted as multiple consecutive steps in the same positive direction (totalitarian -> authoritarian -> liberal) rather than flip-flopping. But maybe I'm not aware of the whole story... I'm may be missing something but if you are talking about Miles then this is reason I don't want him associated with "anti-GG " Its not that he may be a Nazi its about the fact his presence becomes a distraction as people spend more time attacking his perceived comments than debating the actual issues Now of course there is no such thing as a single " anti-GG " as it consists of different factions like GG but for me personally I am tired of people on both sides using this interminable conflict to push there own narcissistic objectives...people are more concerned with who says what than what is said. And there are real issues that could be discussed
