  1. That isn't necessary the wisest thing to do. http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/europe/police-say-13-year-old-girl-was-not-kidnapped-and-raped-by-asylum-seekers-in-berlin-a6823836.html http://www.nytimes.com/2016/01/29/world/europe/russia-dismisses-german-claims-of-exploiting-teen-rape-case.html http://edition.cnn.com/2016/01/27/europe/russia-germany-berlin-rape/ http://news.yahoo.com/raped-german-russian-teen-spent-night-friends-house-142011798.html http://www.theguardian.com/world/2016/jan/31/teenage-girl-made-up-migrant-claim-that-caused-uproar-in-germany I can't claim that I know what happened but whole case is now pawn of political games and actual facts are impossible to get and things aren't helped by news papers trying sell copies. Very interesting post, nice one I have said this before but you have a excellent habit of posting relevant links when you make your points
  2. Why is this such a terrible thing? A rape can be a very traumatic experience that requires psychiatric help, its not a punishment And I cant read German so I'm assuming what you say is true
  3. Sarcasm much? Geez Bruce, just stop. You don't have to chime in on everything. No I don't have to respond to everything, but I can respond to statements I don't agree with But thanks for explaining to me how a forum works ( yes thats sarcasm )
  4. Sure, I get what you saying. But there are loads of links you will find about the link between depression and anger\rage if you don't like that one Here is another one http://www.ehow.com/about_5038624_depression-anger-rage-symptoms.html I haven't ever suffered from depression myself, that I am aware of. but I have lots of experience with it from people I know. In my own country when some of the most violent criminals and crimes are interrogated it goes like this in many occasions " but why did you rape the wife and daughter ...why not just leave the family tied up and rob the house " " I feel angry...I feel very angry..., I am unemployed, I have no purpose, I have no future " So in the South African context we see some crimes being committed exactly because people are angry and depressed about there reality. Or rather it contributes towards the degree of violent crime we see
  5. I dont think thats correct See the link below and page 2 http://health.howstuffworks.com/mental-health/depression/questions/link-between-depression-and-anger1.htm
  6. Wait, they prescribed you anti-depressants when you describe your main problem as perpetual rage? That's... odd? Depression is usually characterized by an absence of strong emotions or even emotions at all. Depression can manifest itself in different ways, rage may sound unusual but it can be caused by forms of depression
  7. https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/how-the-gops-dishonesty-led-to-the-rise-of-donald-trump-and-ted-cruz/2016/01/28/d0bfdf8c-c5fb-11e5-a4aa-f25866ba0dc6_story.html Guys I have mentioned this before, if you don't watch Fareed Zakaria on CNN on the GPS show then you should read his very informed opinion pieces. The guy must be one, if not the, most erudite, insightful political commentators in the world. He also has a wide range of highly respected people from around the who regularly comment on his show Anyway read his views on the GOP race
  8. Seeing as it doesn't do anything to curb the birthrate they did a pretty ****ty job. Well the suggestion in some South American countries from there health departments is " dont fall pregnant or hold back from trying " So indirectly it does impact birth rate...you don't want child born who suffers from Zika. Have you see what they look like, they have these disproportionately small heads and there is normally brain damage
  9. Beef Wellington is delicious, how did it turn out?
  10. http://edition.cnn.com/2016/01/25/health/who-zika-virus-americas/index.html This is becoming a serious concern, there is no vaccine or antidote for this virus and it is caused by a particularly virulent type of mosquito About 1-1.5 million people are infected, this is mostly in Brazil. This virus causes horrible birth defects and now has been confirmed that it can be transmitted sexually. 80 % of people won't show signs but those that do will have rashes, red eyes etc. So imagine the fear for pregnant women or women wanting to fall pregnant who live in areas where this virus is active
  11. So lets look at the Cologne incident over NY, there were about 1000 refugees who gathered at the train station and then subsequently harassed women and committed various sexual acts But there are about 1 million refugees in Germany so we are talking about 0.1 % of people who were involved in crimes, so I would realistically drop my initial number of 5-8 % and say 1-2 % of refugees will commit some sort of crime For me this is not a big number at all and shouldn't be reflective of the overall refugees. Now that doesn't mean people should just accept it but we need to look at this in perspective ?
  12. Here is my view on this education of Western moral values to the refugees Firstly I agree with the article that the refugees are not all stupid or ignorant and this education is not necessary to explain " rape is wrong" As I mentioned numerous times if you travel to the ME crimes like rape and murder are not common. So of course the refugees coming to Europe know this So we are dealing with a small percentage of the refugees who are knowingly committing criminal acts for a number of reasons, we must charge them and we mustn't defend them. But they represent a small percentage of the overall refugees, 5-8 % ? So its also unfair to think " these criminal acts represent the overall views and actions of all the refugees "
  13. Oby its exactly because these countries aren't following Western values that we are in this mess to begin with. So the ME is facing the likes of ISIS because of the lack of Democratic institutions and disregard of basic human rights and the myopic view that certain governments aren't inclusive of all there citizens Don't blame the West for that
  14. It is difficult to detect sarcasm in text, but I was pointing and laughing at those that develop a quivering lip over the plight of the criminals. Yes it was clear you were being sarcastic and it made me laugh
  15. Yes, it is felt he should have no sympathy as the victim is the 22 year old lady and not the 15 year old Somalian who killed her It is hard to find any sympathy for the Somalian refugee
  16. Nope its not in English, so I have no idea what he is saying. Sorry
  17. I know this isn't true but it made me laugh...can you imagine some sort of presentation in a conservative state in the USA or in the EU where the local government is trying to motivate the fact that the local people need to see the benefits of having refugees arrive in there area Page 11 : Also having these refugees in your area will allow you to become desensitized to murder and rape Can you imagine how this will be received But just to explain why this statement may seem valid but its not. In South Africa the reality is we have such high crime because of the long term impact of Apartheid and how it has impacted some black South Africans....so the people who commit this crime in SA are products of the psychological and insidious legacy of Apartheid. And most of the crime is against black South Africans In the case of the refugees I will be honest...some of them due to years of exposure to war will be mentally unbalanced and yes they will also commit crime. But this will never be as severe as the impact of Apartheid which lasted 50 years
  18. Volo there are 250 million white people in the USA ....we are just talking about one of them being killed. Stop trying to scare WOD and the other USA members. The Muslim extremist won't kill all the white people in the USA !!! They'll just kill some of us. Bruce, once in a while you say something truly idiotic. This kind of thing happens every day. I personally knew someone randomly murdered by an illegal alien who had previously been deported many times. May be in SA you don't care when someone is murdered, but in the USA we still do. In other news, nothing to see here, move along: http://nypost.com/2016/01/24/hillarys-team-copied-intel-off-top-secret-server-to-email/ Well of course we care but we are desensitized to the overall crime or most South Africans would be suffering from some sort of nervous breakdown We have about 49 murders a day, is that a lot? Its weird WOD but I have no idea if I should think this is bad..I feel nothing? Yet you are concerned about 1 murder. So either you are exaggerating your feelings as you are frustrated with the reason for this murder or I am really desensitized ....and if so is this a bad thing? *Updated my Bruce.txt* I have been quite concerned about this whole " if I am desensitized to this number of murders...does this mean I may have some sort of mental block or hidden psychological problem" I have been chatting to some guys at one of my customers now and basically asking " how come we are almost nonchalant about this appalling murder rate, one murder in Texas is enough to noticeably upset the residents there " We all agree that all South Africans must be use to subconsciously desensitizing the crime, its a coping mechanism. And the way I see it if all of us are doing it then I shouldn't be worried about some sort of mental issue It just shows how an entire country can mentally cope with the thought of this type of crime ...our minds are amazing

  20. Good idea, this is actually how I normally play a game like this If I used the core rules then I would over-analyze the game and also its more exciting this way I would say that it would help you understand several concepts that game uses, even though it isn't one-to-one copy of table top rules, but it is close enough. Thanks Elerond but Gromnirs suggested is ideal for me
  21. But GD end of the day you guys know me ...plus I have a 10 year USA VISA?
  22. Have you ever been to Afghanistan? I honesty suggest you never trawl for these types of articles in Afghanistan or Pakistan If you have been shocked by how the Syrian refugees seem to lack basic cultural insight then the types of stories you will find in these countries will just depress you. We are talking about people that live in the mountains and have no regard for the value of life unless you support them in there campaigns Don't do it to yourself
  23. torment is set a billion (or some such silliness) years in future. "caucasian" is therefore meaningless. Basically this. On Numenera, a billion years' worth of evolution, purposeful genetic tampering and changes even weirder in origin mean that the residents simply don't map to current racial phenotypes. On the other hand, you can totally be a blue space babe (well, you can't, since this is a CRPG with a semi-fixed protagonist, but in the tabletop version, you can). I think it's pretty clever. Okay lets be serious now ....I didn't realize you have played the tabletop game. What is it like.,.,..how many monsters are there? There are rules 45 different creatures in core rule book, but there are dozes accessory books that bring lots more. And T:ToN set in bit different section than tabletop game and it brings more new creatures with it. That sounds awesome ....I funded this game but I have been avoiding reading anything about it Do you think I should learn the rules from the core book before playing the game?
