Yes many people in the EU are overreacting but they are also scared and frustrated ...so I understand these types of vigilante groups being in operation Yeah who ever could understand this type of vigilante groups https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n85LwLsvSfc I can't read WP article as it just says "This file was inadvertently published.", so I am not sure which groups they talk. Yes regret is the wrong word...what I mean is have you reviewed your opinion of the GG movement ? And this can be a good thing as you may have moved on from your original view? Most of us have changed our initial opinions And the reason I am asking you is because you were the first person in the GG thread to say to me things like " how come I don't support white people " ....I initially dismissed what you were saying because I was on the anti-GG side but you were 100 % correct and I only realized later I was being inconsistent in my view- 115 replies

Bill Gates is a great humanitarian and one of my favorite people, I use to work for Microsoft and I respect him immensely I support most of what he says I agree, we should definitely follow Germany's example: http://www.breitbart.com/london/2016/01/22/locals-fled-pool-after-migrants-masturbated-into-jacuzzi-defecated-into-kids-pool-molested-bathers/ Bill Gates is a great humanitarian and one of my favorite people, I use to work for Microsoft and I respect him immensely I support most of what he says I agree, we should definitely follow Germany's example: http://www.breitbart.com/london/2016/01/22/locals-fled-pool-after-migrants-masturbated-into-jacuzzi-defecated-into-kids-pool-molested-bathers/ I don't mean to laugh because I know these stories are true and concerning but its like we are faced with the worse behavior from the refugees. But you must remember we are talking about a small percentage of refugees who do this and yes its an issue but lets be honest I really don't think your average refugee from a place like Afghanistan and Pakistan will be very educated or cultured This type of refugee would never get into the USA so I wouldn't be too concerned. I would rely on Hurlshots exposure to Muslims in the USA because his view has been objective and positive

Thats a good post Do you feel on a personal level you were manipulated into supporting GG? And I'm not trying to catch you out or make you look silly. The type of manipulation I am referring to was subtle and surreptitious and took time to build so that when the Alexander article broke you were already frustrated by months of criticism from the likes of Anita so it would have been easy to align with GG? I supported GG because I was frustrated with the state of games journalism. It seemed like every other article was about how the games I liked are disgusting filth and I should feel bad, and rather than reporting on games they were dictating to the devs how they should make their games. They made no effort to separate their news and opinion. I stopped being involved when it stopped being about games. While I tend to sympathize more with their side of the "culture war", I got involved because I felt games journalism was damaging to games, as the DOAX3 thing showed. But the DOAX3 thing was really the only big gaming controversy in a while, and most of Kotaku In Action is no longer games or gaming journalism related. Your post makes perfect sense, I wish I knew what you just wrote before I joined anti-GG The majority of gamers are like you, why should you feel uncomfortable or feel constantly criticized by people pushing some misplaced SJ agenda. I understand why you supported GG, it makes sense But it was Anita who started the whole " white gamers are bad, mkay as they are sexist and are opposed to transformation " It was unfair and she played a huge part in manipulating people to partake in the GG and anti-GG war- 115 replies

These types of views always make me laugh, people who don't like the West assume China will offer them a better deal....more integrity Its so misplaced and spurious,I have seen this in Africa many times. But good luck to Iran....I hope they realize that China is currently restructuring its entire economy so we can expect 3-5 years of instability from them The West is still the best place to invest in and forge economic ties with by far but if countries dont believe this then they can learn the hard way

Bill Gates is a great humanitarian and one of my favorite people, I use to work for Microsoft and I respect him immensely I support most of what he says And how many refugees will Mr. Gates take to his mansion? He obviously have room and budget. It's funny how all those rich people are pro immigrants/refugees when we all know they will never see them unless it's some publicity stunt in controlled environment. I wonder how many rich would be pro if refugees camps and homes were build into their rich neighbourhoods. Of course he wants mindless consumers, this is the guy behind Microsoft after all. Guys come on lets be fair now, there are many Billionaires that deserved to be criticized for there indifference and opulence But Bill Gates is really one of the good guys. I remember in the 1990's he was ruthless, driven and obsessed with Microsoft dominating the world. His motto was " a PC in every house in every country" Then he met his wife, fell in love and went with her on one of her humanitarian trips to Africa. That trip fundamentally changed his entire view on life and what mattered, now his motto was " how can we want a PC in every home when there are people who go to bed hungry " Anyway the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation have given away billions and helped address poverty in Africa....they really care https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bill_%26_Melinda_Gates_Foundation We need to give them credit

There you go again, of course not. But it's alright, we all have our bad days, no need to push it. You're excused. Yeah, I highly doubt you would see it. Of course you're not making sense, you throw in things that had nothing to do with GG to begin with: Like Bethesda and Ubisoft are making **** games and are treating the employees badly, while a problem in itself it was not part of the scandal; how eCelebs are using their fanbase to ****post on youtube and finally you said that Hatred was made out pure politics by GamerGate while conveniently forgetting this game quite unknown outside of Postal-fans gor banned from Steam and GamerGate made sure that it was allowed back in. Quite simply you were angry that GamerGate wasn't what you wanted it to be and you had to vent for a bit, which is perfectly ok in itself. No, you get it. I am talking about things that had nothing to do with GG. Because GG was about "we just want games to be about games". Except, all those things were all GG talked about. Ever. You yourself posted about nothing but identity politics and post-modernism and Noam Chomsky and Richard Dawkins in our "journalism in the game industry threads". #GamerGaters say they want people to keep politics out of games, but all evidence shows that they just want different politics in games. Haha, that is my point. Gaming used to be the only refuge from all politics, it was that special place were you could have that childish dream-state of simply having fun. For each attack by society calling it satanic, violent and what not, the journalists and alike stepped up and said "No, it's just games, **** off". Well, until the SJWs moved in and made themselves as cultural vanguards of what gaming is. The videos you are talking about are the testament to highlight how other faculties of life are having or have had the same war. For example, just look at what happened with Atheism+. But something like politics and SJ ideas can reach and influence basically all aspects of society. The issue is not "politics reached gaming " as this was inevitable but rather how people responded- 115 replies

No my friend unfortunately you are equally as culpable as the rest of us for the protracted and unnecessary GG campaign But Geez that last link is terrible, people still have NO idea what SJ is about...or rather I should say " SJ on the Internet" I won't go into too much detail but the initial question just highlights how misunderstood the role of SJ is...why would you ask people who you have clearly antagonized and associate the words " SJW" as an immediate insult " why dont you like SJW " You dont look for vindication in SJ campaigns ....you don't do it for that reason. And you can see from the responses those people also have a very negative view of SJ That last link is the truth of the matter of the larger culture war, but you are free to hide from it or claim that it is false as much as you wish. Its not as intense as a " cultural war " ...I would say its more an Internet clash of ideals, how widespread would this be in RL? I am not going to debate what words mean with you again. Why? Semantics do matter when it comes to the impact of certain things and how we should interpret them? Because you make out your own definitions of words on the fly and refuse to abide by conventions made by the dictionary. No I don't ?Can you give me an example....I will be surprised if you are right?- 115 replies

The changes don't affect me? Sorry Bruce I like you but you don't know what the f--k you are talking about. My cost for health insurance has tripled, (you understand the meaning of that word?) tripled in the years since the ACA passed. When Barack Hussein Obama took office I was a RF Design Engineer with AT&T. I had a great job with a decent salary. The ACA drove up costs to the point that AT&T laid off 12,000 employees. I was one of them. The ACA included a "Medical Device Tax" that includes EVEY F-----G piece of diagnostic medical equipment in the US of A, Including veterinarians. So thanks to Barack Hussien Obama it not only costs more to take care of myself it also costs more to take care of my dogs. Thanks to Obama's "war on coal" the cost of electricity has doubled per kilowatt hour all across the US (even in markets served by nuclear power). Who do you think that hurts the most? The wealthy? Guess again. He allowed the sale of guns to Mexican drug cartels under the premise of "tracking" them. Those guns have so far been used to kill 17 US Border Patrol agents, 32 US citizens and over 200 police and citizens in Mexico. Obama's response to all this? Cover it up and make a cynical attempt to blame the violence on the need for more gun control. Under Obama the IRS has become the "Thought Police" ruthlessly persecuting PACs and individuals whose politics they don't approve of. They got caught, the Obama admin tried to cover it up, but the worst f-----g part is it's STILL HAPPENING! Don't even get me started on the VA and his notion to make veterans pay for their own healthcare for combat injuries. And to top is all off let's look at his admin's deficit spending over the last seven years. Tell me Bruce, how long can anything spend more than it's income before it collapses? It was not an exaggeration to say his administration has spent more in real dollars that all 43 administrations before him. No this is just the way he has hurt people. I didn't even get into the power he has usurped from Congress, or the political philosophy on the role of government or the way he has groveled and weakened our position in the world. If this is your idea of making things better you can keep it. Okay thats a grim picture, I agree Before I respond I would like to see if other US members have similar bad experiences in there states with the Obama presidency

RANT TIME: Yeah, that's why I joined it originally. I saw this stuff first hand as a game dev. I left because that's not what it's about. Even if it used to be, it's no use even trying to discuss this on the hashtag. It gets ignored. Whenever I tried to bring the conversation back to this, the response came down to "who cares, a perpetually offended feminist said something stupid about us on twitter I should be equally perpetually offended about". Actual game talk gets consistently gets less talk than some white knight or tumblrina making nasty comments every single time. Hell, the hashtag was at its most busy when it was about a scientist's T-shirt and absolutely not about games. And the rare occassions when it finally did talk about games, it was always defending bad practices from publishers that practically abuse their game dev employees because otherwise you're "attacking gamers", taking the side of utter corporate ********s like Bethesda and UbiSoft over game devs that actually needed support. Even to most of those that claim it's about artistic freedom in games it's not really, and honestly judging by how much nonsense you have interjected about post-modernist bull**** I count you among those. #GamerGate injects more arm-chair politics into gaming than feminists were ever able to, and companies are using it to promote games consumer lifestyle, not a promotion of game merit. Instead of paying GameSpot for Mountain Dew and Doritos ads, they've leveraged angry nerds to make viral memes about it while they pretend everyone else is a sheep. You can "no true scotsman" those "e-celebs" as much as you want, but guess what, they and their followers are the movement's majority and they think you're no true scotsman. And with them overflowing comment sections everywhere to the point comment sections in gaming media are going extinct, they're more annoying and pervasive than SJW tumblrinas could ever hope to be. BasedGamer was the only good thing to come out of #GamerGate. The peepz behind that were smart in leveraging nerd rage. And Anti-GG became the same thing in most cases ....so called SJW websites where they believe in equality are happy to generalize about white, gamers or have forgotten that gaming is about ....gaming Its interesting TN how you have articulated my view in your own words better than I can....end of the day what is the result of GG? Its like you said, but at least there are large numbers of people who have left the GG and anti-GG movement and just game now and stay out of the " politics " Also its much harder to take an introspective look at ourselves and realize we were wrong about something we use to believe in.. So well done for having the ability and insight to do this. I had to do the same and despite what people think I feel much better. Its good to be able to discuss how we made mistakes in life- 115 replies

Its not so much Clinton I like but she wants to continue the fundamental policies of Obama which are about ensuring a more equitable society and a stronger more significant middle class. Also she isn't planning anything radical that may impact the USA economy, like Sanders and his dislike of big business and the financial sector And that doesn't mean she plans to target people like you ....your commitment to the overall economy and people like you are the foundation of what the USA is built on and despite right wing rhetoric this will never change No thank you. The middle class does NOT need another helping of what Barack Obama served up: http://www.investors.com/incomes-fall-and-poverty-rises-under-obama-census-report/ Okay I won't argue with that data but you must remember he is laying the ground work for future economic changes But also this will take time and there will be failures. For example I think some people think they can achieve economic upliftment without hard work. And despite some of the structural changes Obama has implemented somethings will only change the hard way that many people like you and me believe in....hard work. diligence and learn to take responsibility for your actions So for example China is going through a major economic structural reform...they are changing there economic model from export driven economy to a consumer based economy but this will take time and we shouldn't expect a stable China for 3-5 years The USA is going through its own one with policies that the Democrats espouse Yes they will fail if we get successive Republican presidents who are opposed to them but end of the day these changes don't really effect you. I know you feel they do but I would say until we get FBI literally coming to your property to confiscate your guns things like Obamacare are not as bad as you think

Also to be honest they know that to mishandle or or try to rape women is wrong, I have travelled in many ME countries and I don't remember any significant issues with rape or ubiquitous examples of abuse of women similar to this This is necessary because they just don't have much respect for Western women and have a certain level of contempt for them This needs to change very quickly Western, non-islamic women, and to extension society at large, are considered open season. They are simply Morlocks. I have been reading up on the reality of the sexual attacks on NY night across the EU....yes they did happen and I can understand the concern. You guys in the EU are just not use to this type of crime But in Germany I estimate there are probably about 1 million refugees in the country and in the Cologne attack the majority of trouble came from the 1000 or so people who gathered at the station, thats 0.1 % of the total population of refugees involved So I guess I'm just highlighting its a small number of refugees involved in these incidents
