  1. really tempted to make a super-strong Nosferatu wonder how it will go... I guess I could always restart. or will I miss out on too much content?
  2. sweet! so much info I was having trouble with the patch download, the official links are terrible with their servers. a high speed download can be found here: http://www.planetvampire.com/forum/index.php?topic=6428.0
  3. ok, looks like I'll have to play the game at least twice: with Basic and Plus thanks for all your suggestions, team EDIT: turns out the game doesn't even work on a 64-bit system w/o the unofficial patch
  4. ok, when I do find that unofficial patch, do you know if Steam will try to revert the installation back to its original state at restart? will the patch even work with a Steam version?
  5. I noticed we didn't have a thread for this game (or maybe I just *suck* at searching). I am installing the Steam version atm and was hoping people here could give me advice on what unofficial patches to install, if any, what mods to run it with, if any etc. and general game tips are more than welcome
  6. let's remedy that. (oops, how did that last one get in there?)
  7. but in Gamebryo. i can't stand that engine HBS are using
  8. actually, that scene from my previous post was probably improvised... which makes it even more awesome
  9. oh man, you're almost making me go and buy it, but it's still above 10 bucks, which I almost never pay for a game, being a student and all...
  10. vanilla campaign is meh by Obsidian standards. no replayability value, most you'll get out of it is two playthroughs. expansion - no idea, and at 30% off is not worth the risk. unless someone here can say if it's: as long as the main campaign, has better C&C, is stand-alone
  11. QTE aren't fine. it's a flawed mechanic, it's a designers' cop out: instead of making the game actually react to players actions, make the player react to a set piece. in worst cases QTEs aren't even doing anything. fail? no prob, game keeps going. in best cases they are actually meaningful and give you several options (example: dialogue in Alpha Protocol, that's how all QTEs should be done). and even AP's "QTEs" I didn't like. but at least they didn't punish you too much. some games made me tear my hair in frustration with their ****ty QTEs. any designer that falls back on QTEs for action or interactivity is a dumbass and shouldn't be paid for his "services"
  12. finished Community but still didn't get enough of Alison Brie (in one of the episodes she gets to be this rookie-detective-like character getting the grips of how the system works, and she's just killing it), so I watched Save The Date (which was ****) and The Five-Year Engagement (which was ok) just to have more of her on screen. in STD (lol) she gets more screen time, but it's still a supporting role, so not much to report. in FYE she has less scenes, but, man, she's so good! actually, the best scene of the movie has her and Emily Blunt talking like Sesame Street characters, they're awesome, she - especially so https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WdEqy1DGclA
  13. you will be disappointed. one thing I keep noticing is that it's VERY close to the real thing, it's either a conspiracy to cover up something really terrible (Dirty Wars and No Easy Day both describe certain episodes that are portrayed in Zero Dark Thirty very close to their text), or the writers actually had access to classified documents (as some SOF folks claim). it's very well filmed, and the actors are flipping amazing. especially Jessica Chastain, she's at the top of her game in this one, and it's an Oscar-worthy performance. it's the best movie of that year, and that's why you won't like it
  14. holy crap, Community has an episode done entirely in 8-bit visuals! the creators of the show are awesome
  15. bought KOTOR 2, where do I get the restoration mod? also, I hate how CoD: Ghosts' icon looks very similar to KOTOR's icon in Steam
  16. holy crap, some of Community's episodes are just awesome! I doubt Scrubs had the same freedom when picking a theme for an episode simply due to the constraints of its setting. in Community each episode has its own theme, and while some are kind of lame, some are just out of this world. I especially enjoy the one million pop culture references they cram into their episodes, actually tying them with the plot. it's really like a theme park. and I could be just imagining it, but with every season the acting seems to be getting better, and the characters - more complex. I can't believe I didn't know about this show until recently
  17. I think it's even in their marketing campaign for the game, "DS2 is best enjoyed with a controller"
  18. that looks like Tucson. on the other hand, it could be any Arizona/New Mexico small town
  19. I can't help it, I like Gillian Jacobs and Ken Jeong too much. and I was pleasantly surprised by Alison Brie's performance in season 2
  20. the actors themselves, that's what I meant I'm not debating the fact that Community could've or did rip off Scrubs. it's all about the actors and director for me. the ones on the right in that pic I don't like at all.
