  1. Fixed the exhaust on my mothers car. Exiting stuff.
  2. Heh, we have the same demands for emplyment where I am, while in reality the first language is Arabic.
  3. My grandfather always told me to not use sharpening stones attached to benches and such if one can avoid it, but hold the blade and stone at eye height at all times while sharpening.
  4. This, sooo very much this.
  5. I still do, playing it again now that I've upgraded my computer some more.
  6. Oi, @Pidesco You really need to check your PM's. Liek nau
  7. So, update; Chassis; Corsair 900D Motherboard; MSI X570 MEG Unify CPU; Ryzen 7 5800X Cooler; Fractal Design Celsius S36, added some rubber vibration dampeners to the fans to get them even quieter. RAM; 2*16GB GSkill 3600 CL14 Ripjaws GPU; ASUS Geforce RTX 3080 OC PSU; EVGA Supernova G2 750W Soundcard(Yes, they still make them); Creative SoundBlaster Z NZXT Grid controller for the front fans, biggest mistake in my entire build. When I bought it they didn't have the online crap tied to it though. Storage; 3 TB Seagate Barracuda 3.5" 7200RPM 1TB Samsung 970 EVO m.2 750GB Western Digital Black 3.5" Kingston 120GB SSD Optiarc DVD-RW Monitor; ASUS MG 279 Speakers; Logitech X530 5.1 surround system VR; HTC Vive Pro Eye + Steam controllers and one extra base station Joystick; Thrustmaster T16000M HOTAS Controller; XBox One Wheel; Logitech G29 Keyboard; Razer Huntsman Mouse; Logitech G502 Hero
  8. I'm thinking I've got to write some emails tomorrow when I wake up, I'm really curious! That said, I have a tube of paste from 2003 that is still useable, it works, but it was never really good to begin with either.
  9. A few years? I wonder how long it'll stay "good" as it were.
  10. I went a bit overboard with the paste, the Kryonaut has crazy performance compared to most others. It's basically overkill if you have a standard use case, though not maybe as much if one is running a really hot cpu
  11. Wow, dang. I went to look at that cooler of yours, and it's no slouch. I've seen plenty of people get better results than mine on air though, maybe the thermal paste isn't up to snuff or didn't get a good spread or contact?
  12. Rebuilt my computer, drove my mother to the store, celebrated her birthday with some steak. More computer stuff. Uhh. Yeah, not much really. Jus' chillin' really.
  13. I did three runs, the first one seemed low though to numbers I've read in other places, so I closed a couple of background programs I had for the second and third run. To be fair, the memory is running on it's XMP profile, but that should have very little effect here. 14752 15183 15145 The temps go to about 70C during these tests, and the water is decently heatsoaked, so no shenanigans there. I went through all twelves passes though I should say it does take a little bit more than one minute
  14. I choose to see it as me being to tall Thank you, yeah, it does make a big difference to have those soundcards. Haha! Yeah, it's a major pita but it's worth it, the amount of dust that had collected everywhere was getting on my nerves as I saw all of it, I couldn't leave it since I already had the motherboard and other components out, golden opportunity. Yeah, the RAM sticks are nice, not as costly as I thought they'd be though. They didn't have any 16GB packs that didn't have any RGB, that I wouldn't have to wait for, and the smaller capacity sticks had worse latency aswell so I splurged a little. I could've easilly managed with a 5600X (If they were available) but I didn't want to go from 8 to 6 cores either, even if they're much faster than the old ones. I have noticed the heat the past couple of hours, I've got a 360mm radiator and I hit peaks around 65C and the heatsoak for all the water sits at around 44C when idle currently, I'm not entirely suprised though since all the cores boost to 4.7Ghz, it'll be interesting to see if I can overclock it a bit more. The Thermal Grizzly paste is doing it's job well!
  15. So, upgraded my CPU, MB and RAM. I expected this would take about an hour, but in total it took me about 3 hours and one totally ruined back. Once I started digging into the chassis I found more and more dirt/grime/dust so it ended up as almost a complete rebuild. So the current specs; Chassis; Corsair 900D Motherboard; MSI X570 MEG Unify CPU; Ryzen 7 5800X Cooler; Fractal Design Celsius S36, added some rubber vibration dampeners to the fans to get them even quieter. RAM; 32GB GSkill 3600 CL14 Ripjaws GPU; ASUS Geforce RTX 3080 OC PSU; EVGA Supernova G2 750W Soundcard(Yes, they still make them); Creative SoundBlaster Z NZXT Grid controller for the front fans, biggest mistake in my entire build. Storage; 3 TB Seagate Barracuda 3.5" 7200RPM 750GB Western Digital Black 3.5" Kingston 120GB SSD 1TB Samsung 970 EVO m.2
  16. It's definetly on the weak side, sadly, the political will isn't there anymore =/
  17. @BruceVC@Gorth I stumbled across a very pretty picture today about Swedish power production, consumption, import and export. It's not very granular but it's pretty good, it doesn't show regional imports and exports though Vattenkraft = Hydro power Kärnkraft = Nuclear power Vindkraft = Wind power Biomassa = Biomass Fossil = Burning babies Solkraft = Solar power
  18. Heh, Sweden moved it's vaccination goal forwards today to all adults having recieved one dose in September. It's going great here
  19. Just EU doing EU things with the internet again... This regulation is very well thought through as usual, I especially like that other EU member states can decide for themselves what terrorism is. And since terror isn't really a thing, but a feeling, I will be submitting a demand that all of Facebook be banned, because nothing terrifies me more than the stupification of people that use it and the exploitation of minors and adults data.
  20. Let's not forget reliability, sometimes there's not enough wind to use the turbines, rare as it might be, so you can't have it as a "base" production. Nuclear doesn't have this problem.
  21. I Rosling. Rest in peace. Sweden has never really depended on coal or oil, we had some gas powerplants early on, but we're lucky in that we have pretty good natural resources in the form of water, so early on we built hydropower. Come the 60's we had basically all our power from water, and then people got tired of ruining the rivers and destroying the fishlife and we had protests against further building of hydropower and shifter the focus to Nuclear Power instead, we had some oil as stopgaps and emergency reserves while waiting for nuclear to come online, but come the 80's we had ~45% of our power production from water and ~45% from nuclear, and the rest are from miscellaneous stuff like burning woodchips and trash for heat and power. We've got some coal and oil powerplants that are for emergencies and are rarely used. We have massive problems with moving about electricity from the hydroplants in the north to the south were people live, and we're closing our clean nuclear powerplants, so we export alot of our clean energy and import coal power from Poland instead. In the 80's after Harrisburg there was a referendum about nuclear power with three no options, surprisingly the vote fell on no more nuclear power and after Chernobyl there was a "thought ban" on nuclear power, meaning no plans whatsoever are allowed when it comes to nuclear power including a ban on mining uranium. We've built some windpower farms now, but they're a real small part of our power production still and that is basically were the plans are. Wind and water, all of it. I'm a bit tired right now so there might be some errors in the exact numbers and my despise for our current route is pretty overwhelming, but there it is. We need to get our heads out of our asses and build more nuclear, especially since Swedish Steel production is going to move from fossile to green production come the next decade and eat up basically all the northern water power for their steel production, and nuclear power over it's lifetime is much more clean than even wind and safer aswell.
  22. It looks to be just what I want in the 40k universe though, I doubt it'd be qualitative in any way but I'm probably still buying it.
  23. I honestly don't know wether to laugh or cry at that. Did both. Yeah, I remember looking up my BP medicines I take, in Sweden I pay about ~55$ total per quarter or so, though I don't know how much it'd cost with insurance, just over the counter prices are really high. Using drugs.com, my 100x100 spironolactone costs 25$, while in the US it's double. My Felodipine costs 24$ here and 162$ in the US, Candesartan costs 7$ here and atleast 180$ in the US. I mean... c'mon. If you need frequent doctors visits here in Sweden it is capped at 120$ per year, and I'm quite friendly with all my doctors. We do have to pay all dental costs out of our own pocket, and it's ludicrously expensive.
  24. I dare not think about what the tests I have to go through yearly would cost me, a couple of them takes several hours of a specialists time. Kidney blood flow through and similar.
  25. The land of the free isn't alone, housing prices in Gothenburg has risen quite a bit the past year, 15.9% https://www.maklarstatistik.se/omrade/riket/vastra-gotalands-lan/goteborg/#/villor/arshistorik-prisutveckling And about 30% in my home town https://www.maklarstatistik.se/omrade/riket/vastra-gotalands-lan/alingsas/#/villor/arshistorik-prisutveckling
