  1. Well, there is no plausible way for it to work to start with. Then there is the fact that there are ways to do it without any supernatural/paranormal influences, entertainers from all around the world has been doing these things for centuries, if not millenia. The numerous cases you talk about are badly done tests, and completely uncontrolled (There are no measures to make sure they did'nt have any prior knowledge, for instance), there have been many tests done on psychics over the world and none have stood up to the challenge. They are fraudsters and I seriously doubt there will ever be any proof of any paranomal claim done by anyone, and I think they are immoral people - especially the ones that claim to be able to talk to the dead, and interfere with the normal grieving process.
  2. Or she witnessed it. A million dollars says she can't replicate anything similar to this, and I predict, if she does'nt go to jail herself, that she will ride this to her own fame and fortune - whilst phoning in tips to the police that waste manpower and resources investigating her claims.
  3. Audiophile, need I say more? =) He bought it in the early 90's aswell, when it was on "sale". He's spent thousands of dollars on his amps and speakers. I'm hearing impaired, so I probably can't tell the difference between CD and LP if there was'nt dirt on the vinyl. Still, recording vinyls for neighbours and friends parents gives me some pocketchange and I get to listen to (mostly) ****ty music. Edit; Now that I thought about it, my father nearly got an heartattack.
  4. I can't say it any other way than aluminium, since Swedish also use the correct spelling of the name. You also left out the classics, colour and armour. On an unrelated note, I think I just avoided a minor heartattack when the new cat jumped ontop of my fathers LP player... Had he broken it, I'd... get broken myself. And broke too. Frickin two thousand dollar pick-up. :S
  5. I'm more interested in the way Deep Silver/Koch Media is suddenly popping up constantly on my radar, first with the saints row/volition business, this and probably a few things I'm forgetting. I think they handle Planetside 2 EU accounts too, right? Funny how they use "publisher" in the articles title for what is essentially a distribution deal.
  6. Thank you kindly. My bedroom window faces the other direction, the picture is facing straight south, so you get awesome sunsets over the water. In the other direction there are some fields, hills and trees, I can't actually see the other lake that is in that direction. Sunsets at the jetty/dock with a beer are pure win though. The downside is that this house is built in the early 1800's, and the quality is ... uh... well, kind of good after standing for 200 years - but there isn't a straight line anywhere. ^^
  7. Sorry, I did'nt know that. I've learned English from my Canadian relatives, TCC, Ultima V and Test Drive - so it's a horrible mix of different sources of influence. When I started learning English at school the teachers ignored me, just because I had a basic grasp of the language, so I had to make do. Yeti? Well... My uncle does sometimes go skinny dipping. That's got to be close enough to a missing link. And far, far more terrifying... And there are hills around here. http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f220/Azdeus/DSC00115.jpg Some yankee bastard bought most of the forest on the other side and proceeded to clearcut it, you can see the beginnings of it in the image. He bought it, clearcut it, then sold it again. If I had a gun... I've not even seen a fox here otherwise, we've got moose though. Lots of them. And deer. Scary stuff!
  8. Here in Sweden, when it comes to sewage water treatment, you don't even have to hook it up to a treatment plant. I know this due to rebuilding/restoration efforts. My septic tank has a drainage for the urine/feces-water just goes into the ground. If you don't live in the mountains, the sand and soil will deal with that and you get a truck to take care of the more solid things. This obviously does'nt cover diapers or plasticbags ofcourse, but the least of your worries is the feces. Anyway, something that annoys me is the flourecent lightbulbs and LED power saving lights that are around nowadays, and the normal lightbulbs are just plain gone. I hate the type of light that comes from flourecent lightbulbs, not to mention that they take forever to light up. And I don't save any money from them during the wintertimes, since I have eletrical heating in my house. I'll agree with the scaretactics, it's annoying to all hells, especially when you concider that scared straight efforts does'nt work. It took me 5 minutes to remember the word feces... :<
  9. Doesn't sound too bad actually.... Hey that reminds me I have an actual picture of my office where I work. My desk is on the bottom, right corner. Yeah, its always a little chaotic on Mondays. Hey, looking at that picture Woldan, and your testing of waterboarding, are'nt you going to test breaking wheels and give us your opinion of those? =P
  10. Sweet! That's going to keep me entertained until Wasteland 2. Played alot of Misery, and it was a great mod. The only thing I miss from the Stalker games are other maps, or bigger overall. I've been everywhere on those maps by now.
  11. Hahaha! Only in Brittain! :D Did'nt you have this crazy extreme sportsman that amputated his fingers that got frostbite during his walk to the north pole, just because the doctors were to slow about it? Ah, yes; Sir Ranulph Fiennes, the man basically defines manlyness!
  12. The "Quanta Cola" bit made me think of this; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Radithor :D Ahh, quackery.
  13. As a Swede, the Swedish police are a waste of money. They are useless, incompetent and overpaid. They are only good for driving drunk people home, catching shoplifters, drivers of tuned mopeds and shooting protesters.
  14. Yeah, my mates whom are about as interested in these details and their implications as I am in their new shoes, that is to say, not one bit. The only reaction I got from my sis's boyfriend about Xbone's online requirements was; *Shrug* "I'm not worried about it, I never buy used games, I never lend games and my internet never goes wrong". He's going to quickly change such tunes once he moves out here where I live... Also a somewhat funny, entirely ficticious story from Yahtzee; http://www.escapistmagazine.com/articles/view/columns/extra-punctuation/10460-The-Tale-of-M-and-S
  15. Operation Flashpoint used the mouse to steer cars and trucks from what I remember, or rather it could use it that way. There are also mods for some racing games that allow you to configure the mouse as a steering implement. Mouse is'nt bad as a turning implement because it does'nt return to center though, if you want your steering wheel to function properly with FF you turn off the centering spring anyway, in wich case it does'nt return to center either.
  16. It's basically the same here, and I'm loving the weather! Managed to mow the lawns, trim the edges and get started on trimming the hedge. This is perfect, though the rain was annoying, could've done without that.
  17. Boo-hoo, I despise professional football players, they're overpaid despicable little whiney bastards whos antics are infecting other sports. It's such an disgustingly unsportsmanlike behavior they should have public fricking whippings on the football-field rather than red or yellow cards! /EndRant
  18. I've heard about similar things but cloths before, but if there is anything that I'm concerned about with something like this, it's environmental and health-effects. Imagine if that stuff gets into your digestive system. Yikes.
  19. Quickly skimmed through the last couple of threads and did'nt immediately see anything referencing this, so; Publishers may start funding old-school RPGs because of the success of Kickstarter "These Kickstarters for RPGs have been really successful, they have garnered more backer support and more funding than many had thought, and we have noticed that publishers have paid attention to that and they are aware of the success these projects have had," Chris Avellone explained.
  20. My first pnp game was'nt really so much a game as it was a "tryout". When I met the people that still are my friends and PnP players and GM's some 13+ years ago, they really did'nt know who I was and only heard about me through my class-mate that was in their group. I had spoken alot to him and after me mentioning Fallout, he told me about real PnP rpg's, and I wanted in. It took them two months before they decided to let me try out, and see if I knew what roleplaying was, so we sat down in the cafeteria in school and had a 30 minute session of EON. I passed their little test by running around in the woods, and not attacking every moving object in sight. The real first game though was in the same game, as an mercenary named Dirk Mikal from the city of Anlon in Drunok. He deceided to travel southeast to the lands of Asharien, where he eventually ended up in the coastal regions, and eventually the capital. Entered a bar, ended up in a barfight with a couple of locals and some Tirak ("Orks") pirates, quickly got sent to the stockades where he met the captain(PC) of the sailors and the badly beaten fiddler(PC) of the bar and a friendly smith(PC). A few days was spent in the stockades, trying to remain chaste and in one piece, building some comraderie in the group before we were released. From there we searched through the town for a couple of missing people and lost objects. The least interesting parts of our games were the actual fights, since it's a low fantasy, though gory, game. I could tell you how teeth flew everywhere in the barfight and there were quite a few broken ribs and a shattered leg, but the best parts of the game session was the humor and interplay between the characters. "Hey, this inn's pretty good, smells nice" "Smells nice?! The straw on the floor looks sentient. And carnivorous!" The jester failed walking on a rope and crushed his balls against it, the player shouted out "But my balls!" to wich all the others replied "Not anymore!" in a choir. AFK? You were playing over some IM system or such?
  21. I really loved TDU, but when they did TDU2 they streamlined it straigt down to arcade and then kept going for a little bit. They did'nt even have steering wheel support, and I don't think they've patched it in either. I would love to have another proper game in the franchise, good driving and big world. The world was the only thing they got right in TDU2.
  22. Bunkers and Badasses? AWESOME! I so want that game. Frickin' Steam...
  23. I'll never forget the surprise in his eyes...
  24. When I worked as a "grafitti sanitizer" we had a special soap to wash tarmac, soot and rubber particles from concrete pillars and similar called Solvent Green. I was the only person in the company that recognized it. :/
